It's me... I can't believe I get to start this!

I'm due 2nd Jan 2005... Actually AF is not due for 4 days(!!) but have done 3 tests and all positive. I am only 11 days pregnant.

It's a bit lonely here on my own, I hope there will be lots of you joining me soon, especially from 'ttc thread 6'.

Excellent news BatLady! I'm really pleased for you too.

And welcome and congratulations Chellybelly and Muttley!

Quackers · 04/07/2004 00:00

Just popping in from July to say Hi to me old mucker Bigbird! Thanks for message and I'm SO pleased your scan went well!!!!!!! PS (4 weeks to go)!!

Wid · 04/07/2004 00:47

Great news Batlady; scan's are so reassuring - it's a pity we can't have them more often. I had the private nuchal scan this evening and the result, combined with the Primark blood test gives me a 1:29,000 probability of the baby having Downs, which I wasn't expecting at my age (38).

BigBird · 04/07/2004 12:18

HI Quacks - I will be following your progess from now on and cant wait to hear the good news. This time last year we were all struggling along on the ttc thread....how things change !

Quackers · 07/07/2004 00:16

Thanks BigBird. That's how it should be isn;t it!
Hi Smelly, meant to say hello last time too, but had a pgcy moment!!! Good luck mate!!!

BatLady · 07/07/2004 16:15

I seem to be getting breathless extremely easily....sometimes from genuine excercise (stairs etc.) but sometimes just leaning over to answer phone! It passes quickly but bit odd. Blood pressure ok. Anyone else like this? I'm only 9 1/2 weeks in, wonder what I'll be like when i get bigger!
I've started swimming to get fit and am finding that ok as long as take it easy at first (meant to do this before I got pregnant but didn't quite make it...) and once I stop feeling sick I'll try yoga I think.

Pagan · 07/07/2004 23:47

Hello fellow January mums. I've only just found out I'm pregnant. Thought I was only 3 weeks gone and about to join the March thread but I'm 10 weeks and still in a state of shock but very happy . Looks like my DH just has to hang his trousers at the end of the bed and I'm up the duff again!

smellymelly · 08/07/2004 21:01

Hi ladies - I'm still here, welcome to Batlady, Chellybelly, Muttley, and Pagan...

Thanks Quackers - hope you are getting on ok too?

I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow, and have to say I'm still feeling like shit! Not sick, but very tired and my asthma is really bad. Very happy to have got this far though.

Had a mad week last week, we sold our house, and found a new one, then our buyers pulled out, so we haven taken it off the market for a while. Have enough to deal with right now, so are trying to take it easy. DD was sent home with suspected hand, foot and mouth, on Tues, but we think it was a false alarm!

Hi everyone
First time writing - first time pregnant! 11 wks today (due 27/1) but despite 2 scans already - still not sunk in! Am 41 and had ivf which worked 1st time despite landing me in hosp with a collapsed lung thru fluid and hyperstimulation. Still get breathless. Had heavy bleeding at 10 weeks but scan showed all okay. Now have booked Neuchal scan privately but am really scared - keep crying which is driving DH crazy. All feels a bit of a roller coaster. Still no ms so at least something positive.

Quackers · 11/07/2004 23:53

Great thanks Smelly, 3 weeks to go and counting every day!!!

smellymelly · 12/07/2004 11:49

Hi Custardpie - welcome to our thread!!

Sounds like you have had a bit of a hard time so far. I generally find that those who have hard pregnancies have easy births, so maybe that is something to look forward to!

Hi custardpie and welcome - I agree with smelly, last time easy pregnancy and not so great birth. This time pregnancy is even easier so far....what am I in for

custardpie · 13/07/2004 16:34

Thanks smellymelly and Bigbird - hope you're right!! Having a better day today, altho' could eat everything in sight - have nicknamed baby "munchkin" 'cos I keep getting the munchies! (I was overweight to start with so will probably be the size of a house time it's born!)

smellymelly · 14/07/2004 12:43

Hi Hana - Thanks fo remembering; My wedding is on Saturday - Aaggghhh!

Only midly panicking! Had a couple of days away in a country hotel on my own last weekend to try and get some rest (a little difficult with 2 kids at home).

Everything just about ready, I think. A little worried I won't be able to stand up for all the 30 mins ceremony, though.

We had cancelled our 2 week honeymoon in Egypt when we found out I am having twins, but 2 days ago we thought 'sod it!' and booked a week on a last minute deal, so we are going to The Red Sea, to chill out for a week, on Monday. I CAN'T WAIT!!! It is so beautiful out there, (we went last year) I recommend it. Then come back and still have another week without the kids - Yippee!

wow smelly, Congrats in advance for this weekend. Looking forward to hearing all about it when you get back.

bluestar · 14/07/2004 20:29

smellymelly, just popping in to say good luck for your wedding Doesn't seem that long ago that you were debating on whether to ttc before your wedding!! Hope all goes well and that you have a lovely day.

BatLady · 15/07/2004 11:14

Hello,
Is or has anyone been very breathless at or before the 3 month stage? I am. Am off to GP today as midwife says its not expected at 12 weeks. Am feeling pretty uneasy. Any ideas?

BigBird · 15/07/2004 11:40

Hi Batlady - I can't do as much as I used to without tiring but I haven't had the breathlessness you are talking about. Hope you get some good advice from the Doc. Take it easy !

pollyanna · 16/07/2004 18:57

Smelly, just to say good luck for tomorrow and have a good break!

Wid · 17/07/2004 22:00

Smelly - hope today was fantastic and have a great honeymoon on the Red Sea; it beats where I've just come back from - Butlins at Skegness. Although, DS aged 3 had a whale of a time, I think the place is a bit dodgy. Has anyone else been to Butlins?

The nausea has gone now, yippee, but my I think my taste buds have gone awol, as I'm just not enjoying food anymore. I'm 15 weeks and don't think I'm showing - could this be because I was 4 stone overweight when I conceived and the baby is hiding in ripples of fat? I think I'm one of those women who people won't dare to ask whether I'm pregnant, just in case it's a weight problem!

BigBird · 18/07/2004 15:33

Hello everyone - how are you all doing ?
I had my scan on Friday - baby was bouncing around all over the place ! It was great to see.
So - now i'm telling everybody - isn't that a great time...when you're "announcing!".
I hope everyones sickness is easing and you are feeling better.

custardpie · 18/07/2004 16:53

Hi everyone,
Just got back from a rather wet week in Norfolk, but was nice and relaxing anyway.

Went for my nuchal scan on Friday and all was okay - heard the heartbeat for the first time ...aaah... blubbed a few tears at that! Baby was sucking its thumb too...really cute!

Down's risk was much better than expected at 467/1 (originally expected 46/1 as I'm 41) so no amnio thank god... not worth the risk. Now at last I can relax a bit and enjoy things.

Congrats smelly, hope all went brill. Have a lovely honeymoon.

Off for a nap now!!

hana · 18/07/2004 21:48

smelly - when is your wedding? or has it passed already?!?!
BB - it's great to see them at the scan My 20 week one is only a few weeks away, can't wait!

Bakedbean · 19/07/2004 08:32

Hi everyone. I'm feeling really well now although a bit concerned at how much I am showing! I've put on about half a stone and I think I look about 20 weeks rather than 15+4. Has anyone else put on a bit of weight? I heard heartbeat on Friday at midwife too!

How are you Batlady? How did you get on at the GP?
