It's me... I can't believe I get to start this!

I'm due 2nd Jan 2005... Actually AF is not due for 4 days(!!) but have done 3 tests and all positive. I am only 11 days pregnant.

It's a bit lonely here on my own, I hope there will be lots of you joining me soon, especially from 'ttc thread 6'.

Lorralaffs - I'm having twins and I'm huge, and was very sick but that is a little better, just exceptionally tired.

Thankfully Dp says he is actually enjoying looking after me...Bless!!

Hi ladies, I called NHS Direct this morning and I'm trying to get a referral to the Early Pregnancy Unit. It sounds funny but I've felt so well this pregnancy that it's worried me and this morning the little bump I was growing is just gone! I could even fit into my jeans. I guess it could've been bloating or wind or something but I'm tired of worrying about it. I'm going to try to get a scan and put my mind at ease. No cramping or bleeding, just a lack of symptoms and now a lack of bump. Fingers crossed everything is OK.

Bakedbean · 20/06/2004 12:17

Hi Tex....sorry to hear that. I'm sure it'll be that you're carrying a different sex to last time! At least when it's your first you have nothing to compare it with but when you have such a different pregnancy to the last time, it must be a worry. I think you're doing the right thing and getting it checked out - for your own peace of mind. Do let us know how you get on.

smellymelly · 20/06/2004 12:26

I'm sure it is fine Tex111 - but get it checked out....Fingers crossed. xxx

Saw my GP and she's booked a scan for tomorrow at 9am. I'm so relieved to have the appt and to be able to get some answers. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Tex111 · 21/06/2004 14:58

Bad news I'm afraid. The yolk sac was very small and they were unable to find a heartbeat. We had a missed miscarriage just as I feared. I'm scheduled for a D&C on Friday morning and we're off the Spain on Tuesday (with the Dr's blessing) for a holiday.

I think I had prepared myself pretty well for this possibility but it's been quite a shock to DH. We're dealing with it and I know we'll be fine and plan to start trying again as soon as we can.

I'm sorry to be leaving you guys but will hopefully be starting one of the Spring or Summer '05 groups. Good luck to you all!

BigBird · 21/06/2004 15:01

Tex - just replied on your other post but as we were only a day apart with our due dates, I really am thinking about you today. Take care.

Schmozer · 21/06/2004 15:04

So sorry to hear this, Tex . Was thinking of you this morning and will be again on Friday. Hope the rest of this week isn't too awful and that you and DH have plenty of rest in Spain.

smellymelly · 21/06/2004 15:42

Left you a message on your other thread... I really am very sorry. Isn't it funny how we just know these things? I knew something was wrong when I had my ectopic, and know look at me!

I hope you can stay feeling postive.

Tex I'm so sorry to hear this... was thinking about you this morning. I hope you and DH have a break and come back refreshed and positive.

artyjoe · 22/06/2004 13:33

Tex, so sorry to hear your sad news x

bluestar · 22/06/2004 17:21

Tex111, sorry to hear your sad news. I hope the holiday allows you to get some rest and relaxation.

hopejoy · 22/06/2004 17:44

Hi Tex111 - I've just read the recent messages and I wanted to say hello and sorry for what has happened. I hope you are able to enjoy your holiday with dh.

Tex111 · 22/06/2004 22:02

Thanks so much for your kind words. We're doing our best to be positive. I know these things happen all the time and I feel confident that we'll have another baby eventually. Just a little sad right now.

I am going to miss you guys! I feel like I was just starting to get to know you, but I'll definitely pop in and see how you're all doing from time to time.

Got the D&C tomorrow morning and after that I have Spain to look forward to and DS's second birthday party to plan, so there's lots to do. Thanks so much for all of your support and best of luck!!

BigBird · 23/06/2004 12:18

Mind yourself Tex!

How is everyone else ?
I'm 11 weeks now and have been so lucky - no MS or nausea to speak of (not like my first pregnancy). I still have had no confirmation of anything (ie. no scan etc) so still feeling a bit in limbo and haven't told many people. I am seeing GP next week (routine) so will ask her to try to hear the heartbeat (I know its a long shot)....and failing that my first scan is at 14.5 weeks. How is everyone else doing ?

Schmozer · 23/06/2004 12:40

I'm OK! I'm 9 weeks tomorrow. The last ten days or so I've had nausea and I'm still exhausted, but a little less 'emotional' now. I've got my booking-in appointment and dating scan on 12 July (at about 12 weeks), which is the due date of my DB and DSIL's baby so it looks like being a busy week. Hope the car sickness has worn off by then as they live 300 miles away and currently the 6 miles to work is enough of a challenge.

Jimjams · 23/06/2004 16:55

Big Bird- midwife found the heartbeat last week (11 +1) very experience midwife though and h/beat was very quiet. She said its 50:50 at 11 weeks. Hope you get to hear it anyway.

Tex

Bakedbean · 23/06/2004 18:15

I'm 11 weeks today and my bump seems to have grown overnight. Got scan on Wednesday when they do the 'nuchal fold' test so a bit nervous about that. Feeling much much better though - didn't think I'd had any real sickness although feel so much better this past week that I was obviously feeling it a bit, just not as bad as some of you! Anyone already got a feeling as to whether they are carrying boy or girl?

artyjoe · 23/06/2004 20:47

I am 10 weeks on Monday and feel atrocious
The nausea is getting worse, it takes hours to digest any food, I can't even bear to eat my beloved chocolate or diet coke! Have actually lost weight as I can't get enough food into me, but considering I'm six stones over weight I don't suppose this will harm

Am desperate for my scan on July 8th, everything seems on hold until then, I'm sure we all feel the same on that one. If I could go private I'd go tomorrow and get a scan but I couldn't make the journey to Portland Street at the moment so 12 weeks it is!

Based on how I'm feeling at the moment I'm only going to have the one!

Fingers crossed we all start to bloom in July x

smellymelly · 23/06/2004 21:29

Hi everyone - had my scan today, and all is well, checked nuchal results for both (low risk 1 in 4,000 or so). Measuring right, and extremely active!! One baby was throwing it's arms up in the air, and one poss had hiccups!

I'm a bit of a celeb at hosptial coz I'm having twins after the ectopic and losing a tube. There is a new consultant at my hospital who specialises in twins, so he did my scan and there were 3 other people in the room too! It is great to be looked after so well...

Also amazingly we saw one definitely had a willy!! We were looking down from the top of his head, and consultant said, 'we can sex the babies better at 20 weeks, but I won't say what I can see here!' Too late, I already saw. Not bad for under 12 weeks.

Hi everyone. congratulations on a good scan smellymelly!

I actually found out the date of my scan yesterday. Unfortunately it was yesterday, so I missed it (I think the letter must have got lost in the post). I have got a scan for next WEdnesday - which was the last free appointment for 6 weeks. Once the scan is over, and if everything is ok, I will start telling people (if they haven't guessed already).

Looking back, I'm sure I feel less sick now (have abandoned preggie pops), but still sick sometimes, but the tiredness just won't go - has anyone else found this? (I thought it stopped earlier last time, but can't really remember).

Artyjoe -can't wait for July either!!

Have you seen there is a due in March thread now?
We are oldtimers!!

smellymelly · 26/06/2004 13:03

Hope everyone ahd a good weekend - I forgot to say that I had started to feel babies moving at 10.5 weeks!!!! Very often about 20 mins after I had eaten, so thought it was that, but know I know it is the babies as I never feel bubbles normally!

BigBird · 26/06/2004 15:04

wow smellymelly - sounds great !

thanks JimJams, good to know. I am seeing GP on Fri and will not be too worried if she cannot find it.

12 weeks tomorrow - whoooo-hooo !

Bakedbean · 26/06/2004 15:55

Fantastic Smellymelly! Bet you're feeling great now!

pollyanna · 26/06/2004 21:48

Smellymelly, I kept thinking I could feel movements too, but discounted it - perhaps I was right.

I meant to ask, and this is probably a silly question, but can they tell at this stage whether twins are identical or not?
