Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NatalieJane · 09/11/2006 10:08

So, are you having regular scans and things, to put your mind at rest? The injections don't sound like much fun Hopfully it won't come to that.

It is the swelling along with high blod pressure that can be a problem, I went for my normal ante-natel check on Tueday, BP was up a bit, then Tuesday night I started swelling up, woke up yesterday even more swollen so I called the midwife and she came out and did my BP again and it has gone back down to what it was when I was booked in, so luckily nothing to worry about. But she said about the baby being engaged so quickly and then joked on her way out of the door that she was on call that night so she would see me later, so of course I spent all night looking for any sign of it starting! It is a bit like when you are TTC and you talk yourself into having every pregnancy symptom on the planet in the 2ww!

trace2 · 09/11/2006 10:15

no no scan yet going today going to ask for one, but am having to see gyny all the tome which is a pain !
so if you get worse will they set you off?

NatalieJane · 09/11/2006 10:25

Have you got a date for your 12 week scan yet? You'd have thought they's have offered you one by now.

They would only start me off if my BP got high again I think, but with wanting a home birth, I don't want to be induced unless I absolutley have to because obivously I can't be induced at home. I think I might go and have a good walk round town again, see if that triggers anything. I have been having regular braxton hicks all morning so it might be enough to start it going properly.

I hope everything goes OK at the hospital if I don't catch you again before (And don't stay away too long this time!!!) TC xxx

ok nat take care

jabberwocky · 10/11/2006 13:37

HopingCat, she is absolutely beautiful!!! Big congratulations

Natalie Jane, we are going to be really close together. I'm going in on dec 4th for my section. If you go over a bit we'll be on the same day! But I know you'd rather go sooner than later

I had lots and lots of swelling with ds. Not much fun is it? BP bounced around in the high range a lot at the end too, but was never a real problem.

NatalieJane · 10/11/2006 15:35

I keep thinking to myself it can't be that much longer now, but then I think I have been having contractions for 4 weeks, and nothing has happened yet, so yes, there is every chance I will still be sat here pregnant on the 4th of December, which to be honest leaves me with a feeling of absolute dread! Although if things carry on the way they have been until then, I am likely to be feeling very ill, I don't know how long people can actually survive with 2-3 hours sleep a night and one weetabix in the morning!!

How are you feeling though? Why are you having a CS? Tell me to bugger off if it is none of my business!!

decafgirl · 10/11/2006 20:16

Hello, remember me?

I'm 6 weeks pregnant and very excited!

Hope you're all well xxx

Coriander73 · 10/11/2006 20:37

Congratulations!!!!

jabberwocky · 10/11/2006 21:03

Big Congrats, decafgirl!!

Natlie J, I don't mind you asking at all. Ds's delivery was a major trauma drama that ended in an emergency section. I've been treated for PN PTSD ever since, was in pretty bad shape mentally for almost 2 years. So, for me, a planned, controlled elective was the only way I could face another pg - and I did so want another little babe

Luckily, in the US they are more than happy to go along with it. Never tried once to convince me to do a VBAC.

peachygirl · 10/11/2006 21:38

yay decafgirl congratulations and welcome!!!!

NatalieJane · 11/11/2006 00:10

Peachy, glad everything is going well The movements fasinate me, ven now when they hurt more than anything else, I still can waste an evening away just watching my belly jumping all over the place!

Cori, thanks for the good luck, I think I am going to need it if this baby is ever going to shift himself!

Decafgirl, huge congratulations The next 7 and a half months will just fly by, so make the most of it, rest when your body is telling you to.

Jabberwocky, it must be good for you to have that peace of mind. Have you got any names lined up yet? And are you all ready for the baby?

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 11/11/2006 12:51

Glad I'm not the only one fascinated NJ I sometimes think I could just sit around all day and watch/feel the movements. Poor ds was frank breech and so could hardly move at all the last trimester, although I did not know at the time what the reason was. I have been delighted with this one's activity.

Name-wise we are going with Kiernan. Still arguing a bit over the middle name. Dh doesn't realize it, but I have decided to stand firm on my maiden name as the middle name. A possible scene at the hospital

Have you decided?

NatalieJane · 11/11/2006 17:25

Well, we have done the sex thing - twice - we walked round town - again - moved the sofas out of the way and hoovered under them, changed all the beds, and sat and played games with DS and still nothing. I am having the odd BH and feeling of pressure, but not much else really.

We are also still up in the air about the middle name, he will either be George Harry, or George Patrick. Both are family names so we are stuck a bit!

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 11/11/2006 21:10

or George Patrick Harry?

peachygirl · 11/11/2006 21:46

Hi everyone after dithering me and Dh wen to baby bond this afternoonn to have a gender scan.
It's a girl!!
I'm going back next weekend as they couldn't get a good 3D picture of her (gosh that's strange to type) she had her hands and feet in front of her face - being coy again.
This was despite two walks, chocolate, bouncing about, wobbling the bump and drinking water and cola.
I have to say the service I got was excellent. Very friendly, professional. I would reccommend them.

jabberwocky · 11/11/2006 23:45

how fun! My little one kept snuggling up to the placenta. We never got a good look at the right side of his face, but it was still nice to get a peek

NatalieJane · 12/11/2006 00:46

Jabberwocky, our surname is Oliver, all of that together is way too much of a mouth full! LOL I think we have decided on Patrick really. It is my mums dad's name, he died before I was born but my mum was very close to him, so I know she will be pleased with it, Harry is my dads dad, I knew him when I was younger, but he was a bit of a 'jack the lad' and so probably not the best person to have as a name sake! LOL

Peachy congratulations on your little girl It sounds like you had a lovely experience with them, how nice to hear of a good service for a change!

decafgirl · 12/11/2006 20:47

Congratulations Peachy, is it really strange to know?

wuzzlefraggle · 13/11/2006 12:56

NatalieJane · 13/11/2006 15:44

Oh Wuzz, she sounds just perfect And you sound very positive and happy, which is great! I bet you can't remember life without her now can you?!!

I am officially 38 weeks on Wednesday, have lost loads more of my show today, baby is very quiet, feeling sick, contractions constantly to some extent, but still no baby!

Hope everyone is doing OK

OP posts:
Coriander73 · 13/11/2006 20:30

NatalieJane, for what it's worth I like George Patrick Oliver!! Think it sounds better ( & stronger)together than Harry Oliver....

Peachy, a girl!!!! Wow, lovely lovely!! So, you have to tell us what her name is now!! Wuzz, how is Anna doing? Jack is now 8 weeks (!!) & had his first set of jabs today.. Weighs a hefty 12lb 10oz now... Word of warning...girls to tend to be Daddy's girls...! Mine has her father right around her little finger.....he just melts everytime they're togther...I'm secretly quite glad I have a boy now!!!!

NatalieJane · 13/11/2006 22:30

Gosh 8 weeks? I had forgotten how young they start jabbing them I hope Jack is OK.

And I agree, Patrick fits better than Harry, and I heard a boy in DS's school being called 'Arry today, which is awful, I know it is only a middle name and so it won't be used very much but it has put me off it a bit!!
