Hi ladies, many congratulations on your recent news. I'm sure like me you are very excited but also wondering what every feeling is going on in your body and wondering if it is normal.

I'm 30, this is my first ever pregnancy, i am 4.5 weeks and it turns out I'm a bit of a hypercondriac, scared whether every symptom is normal.

My breasts have been sore all week, but today I feel like I'm the size of a house and that I've lost control of my stomach muscles. Anyone else feel the same?

Hello ladies, welcome to our newcomers.

I'm so bloated, it's going to make it harder to hide.

Fizzie100 · 23/01/2015 21:20

Hey, thank you for lovely welcome. Told DP and he was amazing hugely excited whereas I just cried on him. I think I am just nervous about the whole thing and what to do next. Congratulations to everyone xx

Looceeloo · 24/01/2015 08:30

Ah thank you for the welcome and congratulations to all you ladies!

I feel huge too, why is that? And sometimes I think I feel mild cramps but then I'm not sure if I'm just imagining them.

When I actually got the BFP I don't think I moved for a couple of hours for fear of dislodging the little thing! DH was very excited, I just cried through shock it had actually happened. Managed to then get myself together, but haven't thought about anything else for the past 2 days and I daren't get my hopes up in case something happens. Wasn't sure how I was going to get through next few months as plan not tell anyone for now but I think being able to talk about it on here will help... Smile I'm 33 and this is my first pregnancy so literally no idea what to expect!

Fizzie100 · 24/01/2015 08:46

I hear you looceeloo! I literally don't know what to expect either.
I'm 31, DP 33 and we had started talking about it but didn't expect it to happen on first go. My best friend and her daughter my goddaughter are coming over today and I am thinking of telling her fir some support as don't plan to tell family for quite a while. I feel a little less shocked after some sleep! Do you have any symptoms?? I have the most awful blocked nose which I've had for 3 weeks but no sickness as yet. I hope everyone has a good day.x

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 24/01/2015 08:57

Hallo all
We're going to move this thread over to the AN topic
Best of luck to you all with your impending arrivals

Fizzie100 · 24/01/2015 09:00

Could I ask when you booked your 1st doctors appointment as I have just moved to a new area so don't yet have a new doctor. Could take a week or so to get registered and seen so hope that's ok. How is everyone??

hkmcgilp · 24/01/2015 09:01

Hi Ladies,

May I join? I'm around 8 weeks (as of Monday) due around the 9th September after a missed miscarriage in August. I didn't really have any symptoms last time (eg sickness, just bloated). I only found out at my 12 week scan. I'm going to the EPU at Kings (where having baby) to have a scan next Friday to see how things are going and absolutely freaking out.

Feel nauseous but also starving...I've told my mum and sister back in Sydney because I found it really helpful having the support last time. Going to tell a good friend today...

Congratulations to you all...

itssangriaoclock · 24/01/2015 09:21

Morning all, I'm also seeing close friends today. Have a scan booked so would rather wait until after the scan but think they already suspect. Need to decide to either tell them or only say if asked directly. I'm reluctant because on the 13th all my close friends will be together so would rather tell everyone then. Plus it would be after an early scan an I'll be 10wks rather than currently being 7wks.

Don't know what to do, DH doesn't want to tell anyone.

Looceeloo · 24/01/2015 09:42

Hi Mcgilp, congratulations to you!

I haven't told anyone, apart from DH of course. I just always thought I wouldn't until further along, I found it hard enough telling my GP and cried then! Think I'm just feeling quite private and protective, it's not that I don't want to tell people I really do but just sort of daren't at the moment. Maybe I will feel differently in a few weeks...

Fizzie, I went to see the doctor the next day but that was mainly because im on medication you can't take when pregnant so I just wanted to check I was ok to just stop taking them (they are for anxiety). I have sore breasts and feel bloated but that's kind of it at the moment. I feel worried and every so often freaked out but I'm not sure if that's purely normal or that I've stopped my tablets...either way I think I'm in for a roller coaster of craziness for a while Grin... My poor lovely husband!

Looceeloo · 24/01/2015 09:46

Is it normal to be starving this early on?? I'm only 5 weeks on Monday, it can't be because the baby needs it surely?

FeelTheNoise · 24/01/2015 11:38

I've been getting very hungry Looceeloo! And sometimes a bit meh about food, which is very unlike me. And also very specific about foods too Grin

And the hormones.... Good grief, I'm an emotional wreck at the moment! I'm either trying not to cry with happy thoughts, usually triggered by songs or Humans Of New York style stories. Or I'm plummeting into the depths of despair, and I've been like this since early/mid December, which is why I think I'm 6/7 weeks. DP always greets me with uncertainty and wariness now Wink

Fizzie100 · 24/01/2015 12:37

Glad it's not just me wailing !!x

Looceeloo · 24/01/2015 19:44

Had horrible headache today which is unusual for me, is that a symptom or just unfortunate? Thinking I need to get back on the spinning bike for a gentle spin everyday otherwise the rate I'm going I'll be in maternity trousers by next week!

Jessica32 · 25/01/2015 20:05

Congratulations to all recent joiners.

Fizzie, I rang my GP on the Monday after finding out on the Saturday. They asked me to come in to fill out a form and book an appt with the midwife which is on the 16th when I'm 8.5 weeks. Didn't need me to see a doc. They gave me other forms to fill out too, and bring to the appt.

Looceeloo, I have had nausea since before I found out but thankfully not actually been sick yet. When I don't feel I'll I am starving and could eat double helpings. Have currently lost my sweet tooth too, v unusal for me.

FeelTheNoise · 25/01/2015 21:24

Today I've reached the point where I'm starving and queasy all at once Confused and my uterus feels like it's really stiff and bulging

jennedco · 25/01/2015 22:00

I'm 4.5 weeks and really excited! Just had what I'm hoping is implantation bleeding, as it freaked me out before avidly googling what it was! Due 27th Sept, excited to hear all your stories ladies!

Fizzie100 · 25/01/2015 22:54

Hey jenne and thank you everyone for the tips and welcome. I'm freaking out ever so slightly as I am getting quite bad cramps when I stand up. Also had a bit of spotting but not a lot. I also have a very spotty face - nice!!

misssmilla1 · 25/01/2015 22:56

Just shy of 6 weeks and swinging between low level nausea and stuffing my face, mainly with salt and pepper flavored crisps. Just checked on the chicken in the slow cooker for tea and wanted to vom with the smell. Nothing I eat tastes right atm, which is all a bit odd, and its deffo changing day to day. Friday I was mainlining OJ, Saturday it was salt based snacks and today it's mainly dairy. Snapping at OH and can't tell whether it's my hormones or because he's being annoying; the clue is probably there somewhere Blush

Had first scan last week (I'm in the US, they can't wait here to whip you up in the stirrups Wink) and next one is in 2.5 weeks. If all looks good then, we get to talk about high risk specialist care as I have a clotting genetic issue which can cause miscarriage and issues. Tbh, I am bricking it, but trying to take it 1 day at a time.

Also had a wander round a couple of maternity shops earlier today whilst I was in town to see what they have - seems to be very stripes based fashion- I mean I know you can't hide the bump when it comes, but does it have to be so fricking obvious??

brickiemum2 · 26/01/2015 06:45

Hi ladies, I see there's quite a few of you that haven't joined the large September thread where there's far more of us. It's near the top and is called September thread #2 hurry up 12 weeks we wanna tell peeps. We're quite a chatty bunch so we've managed almost 2000 posts already Wink
Might be a better idea for you all to come over and join us rather than having two separate ante natal groups?

brickiemum2 · 26/01/2015 06:47

P.s. we've got a speadsheet and everyfink WinkGrin

KurlyWurly88 · 26/01/2015 14:56

Hi!
Can I join as well?
I got a bfp last week and according to calculator I'm due 24th September!

I'm only 5 weeks into my first pregnancy, so I'm nervous, excited and worried at the same time! I've been getting cramps, but that sounds normal. I was worried because the gp surgery told me to come back at 8-9 weeks - is this normal too? (I didn't even see anyone)

It's been lovely to read everyones messages, and get some reassurance. We've decided to not tell anyone until the 12 week mark - I really want the next 7 weeks to go by quickly!

Good luck to everyone!

brickiemum2 · 26/01/2015 16:02

Pop onto the September 2015 thread #3

KurlyWurly88 · 26/01/2015 19:02

Will do! Thanks :-)

Jessica32 · 28/01/2015 11:56

Hi KurlyWurly,

I'm due 24th too with my first. My midwife appt. is at 8 weeks so yes normal.

As far as cramps go, remember that your uterus goes from the size of a plumb to a small melon in 9 weeks. Not surprising we feel it!

Purplecircle · 29/01/2015 21:08

6 weeks today for me, due 24/9 :)
