Hello ladies. I got my BFP (bloody faint positive in my case) on Monday and am due on 3rd September. I couldn't see any other threads for next September so thought I would go ahead and create a little home for us over the coming months. Merry Christmas to all of you finding out about your extra Christmas Present over the next few days Grin .

Oh loopy the waiting must be unbearable. No advice really, there's nothing to do but wait and wonder.

Still no big symptoms here. Thirsty though.

Not buying anything here: can't spare the cash and I have what I need both maternity stuff and baby stuff.

StillRising · 14/01/2015 13:03

Hello waves

I got my BFP on the 3rd of January and while this pregnancy is planned and wanted it came as a shock to me and my partner as his vasectomy was reversed in October and we had expected quite a long wait. I'm over the moon but have the typical early pregnancy nervousness. I'm 5+3 and just cannot wait to hold this little babe in my arms. Lovely to meet you all :) Is there a Facebook group yet?

Stats: Age 31, 5+3, DS (almost 3), based in Ireland. Any other Irish women on this bus?

StillRising · 14/01/2015 13:03

Ooooh and my DP proposed yesterday in the snow!! Romantic!

TerrysNo3 · 14/01/2015 13:06

still that's fantastic news, congratulations (I'm assuming you said yes!) Grin Grin

StillRising · 14/01/2015 13:41

Yes TerrysNo3 :D

Julietee · 14/01/2015 13:44

Not sure what to think here... but am sad an worried.
I held off on doing the clearblue dating test til I was pretty sure it would read 3+ weeks.
Took it thismorning (3+3 since DH and I dtd) and it said 1-2.
I have almost no symptoms... do you think I'm looking at a blighted ovum or similar here?

UptownFunkYouUp · 14/01/2015 13:50

Well I had my scan at the EPAU yesterday (I've been bleeding - very light, no pain, not in my knickers and just on the toilet roll iyswim - for over a week, usually brownish but occasionally pink/red so I'd feared the worst). Anyway there was a heartbeat and midwife didn't seem particularly concerned about the bleeding. I was told to keep an eye on it (like I've a choice) but only worry if it changed significantly. I feel much better now, and hope this is reassuring to others going through the same thing. I was dated by the scan a couple of days behind where I thought I was at 6 +1
Xx

NatalieBee · 14/01/2015 13:50

Still, congratulations! Grin I love engagement stories Smile

As for people who I've told I am 7 weeks today and so far my mum knows, my MIL and my sister. Just people who I would want to know if somthing happened! But I only told them after my scan with the heartbeat last week Smile

Julie, perhaps you ovulated late? Them tests can be notoriously unrealisable with the weeks depending on how diluted your pee and things was! Maybe if your worried try and get an early scan at EPAU! Sending lots of hugs, it's all very worrying this pregnancy malarkey Thanks

NatalieBee · 14/01/2015 13:51

P.s uptown that is awesome Smile yay!

TerrysNo3 · 14/01/2015 13:57

Julie how sure of your dates are you? Sperm can live for 5-7 days so is it possible that you actually ovulated later and aren't as far along? I would wait a few more days and then test again or alternatively you could go to epu and ask for repeat hcg tests. I don't think you'll see much on a scan to reassure you with those hcg levels yet but if you get a hcg test done over a few days then you can see if it's increasing nicely (doubling every 48-72 hours)

Uptown btw, love your name and the song! I've heard of loads of people bleeding throughout pregnancy. I'm very Grin and Envy about your heartbeat Wink, your risk of mc has now plummeted to less than 5%!! Smile

UptownFunkYouUp · 14/01/2015 13:58
Grin

Thanks...I can start enjoying being pregnant again instead of preparing myself to find out that I'm not!

Julietee · 14/01/2015 14:04

Terry - I have the exact date of dtd but no idea when I ovulated! Can you self refer to epu? I'll just wait it out ifI can.

Julietee · 14/01/2015 14:05

And I did get a firm positive at the end of my 2ww, so probably ovulated not far off the date of dtd, if that makes sense.

ShootTheMoon · 14/01/2015 14:28

Julietee it must be a bit worrying, hope you're ok. I think it's hard to say much from a one-off test as it just gives you one point in time and no comparisons. People do get different levels of HCG in the beginning - but second the suggestion to ask if your GP will test HCG a few days apart to see if it is going in the right direction. But I do think that the urine tests are only meant to be indicators, not scientific results, and as such they are not reliable.

Good luck.

TerrysNo3 · 14/01/2015 14:44

Julie it depends on your local EPU. Find your nearest one on this website and then you can see how they accept referrals

TinyPawz · 14/01/2015 16:29

Doc said I'll be consultant led from the start this time because I'm 'high risk' ie extremely overweight. I had ridiculously low fluid when pregnant with Dd and was in hospital in bed rest and 3 times daily monitoring from 32 weeks. Not fun at all. I had originally started off as shared care with that pregnancy.

Don't be too hard on yourself about clothes shopping. I am itching to do the same, unfortunately the hangover from Christmas spending is stopping me. I have been making lists of what clothes I want, the pram, the pump, the bottles and steriliser, everything really. I'm having to start again from scratch, all my baby stuff was given to a cousin and passed on again to another cousin who has had 2 children. So 4 wee people have used them all. I think they've paid their dues.

elio · 14/01/2015 16:32

Crikey, so much is going on. My heart goes out to everyone having a rough time.
I am worried that I should be more worried...I am five weeks today and feel (untypically!) calm. I guess if something goes wrong, there is nothing I can do about it apart from accept it. I have just got my first appointnent on Friday the 13th(!) Which will be just over 9 weeks for me. Freaked me out calling the midwife- especially when she told me that she would be mine! On the plus side she sounded super nice Smile How have people found week 6?

NordicDreamer · 14/01/2015 16:44

Oh dear, it's so stressful in these early weeks. Keeping my fingers crossed for those of you who are having uncertain times right now.
Elio, I'm just 7 weeks and can tell you that I felt downright rough at 6 weeks! Sorry! Last week I barely functioned at work, came home and just slept (with small break for eating dinner!)...every day! Last Wednesday at work I ate so many mints to keep the sick feeling at bay during a long meeting I actually got a blister on my tongue Confused
Feeling a bit less nausea today thank goodness!

NordicDreamer · 14/01/2015 16:45

And congratulations Still!!

mrsatkinson · 14/01/2015 16:46

I'm 5 weeks today and am starting to panic I don't have that many terrible symptoms! I feel Like I should be having a really rough time but I'm not. I've got.a few symptoms but not loads. how is everyone else around 5 weeks doing symptoms wise? x

Choccyhobnob · 14/01/2015 16:52

elio we're date buddies! I'm exactly 5 weeks too! Got my early private scan on 4th and then booking in appointment on 5th! I haven't had any nausea yet, just annoying cramps and now painful boobs! The last 2 or 3 days they have gotten really firm, like an airbed instead of a waterbed is how I describe it!

ShootTheMoon · 14/01/2015 16:54

thanks tiny - ah yes, the endless list making I have started already too

mrsa I am only just now 4 weeks (oh it is going to be a long pregnancy!) and I have some sort of achy crampy sensations which have been on and off for a week. And a bit of heartburn and quite a lot of fatigue. No sore boobs (don't remember it from last time) and I wasn't sick last time either. Just assuming all is well until I get evidence to the contrary.

mrsdos · 14/01/2015 17:14

As awful as it sounds I'm glad everyone else is feeling rubbish! Have had sore boobs and felt nauseous since just before my BFP, but was warned that the sicky feeling when I started taking the pill would be the same if not similar to ms. I was meant to have my (second) first visit with the midwife yesterday but it was cancelled, rebooked for next week instead. I think my colleagues are getting suspicious as well!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 14/01/2015 17:14

I was teaching World War Literature today and burst into floods of years reading 'In Flanders Fields'. My students looked a little confused!

ag123 · 14/01/2015 17:27

Just thought I'd update that the scan went well...didn't need to be internal thank God and was amazed they could see the little heartbeat through my tummy at just 6+4/5 (two different readings had two different dates) Feeling very relieved Smile
