Not caught up on reading yet but rl20 I got mine from mammas and pappas and it was delivered in about 6 weeks along with all the furniture we ordered (we chose a Saturday delivery though so could have had it sooner)
ours is the zoom trio, black and lilime one which was £300 for the full travel system. Absolute bargain.

BonjourMinou · 01/01/2015 10:48

Happy New Year everyone Smile Hope you all had a good one last night. We stayed in and had board games and chinese takeaway with some friends.

Only 3 months until the first few babies are born! Shock

RL20 · 01/01/2015 11:01

Hiding, that's good. It must of been ladies that ordered more expensive ones/different brands that took months to be delivered. I really like the look of the Zoom in lime, and even just the black one! Did you order from the website? I want to go and have a good look and feel of one in store, not sure where to go though! Do you know of any shops that stock them?

BananaToast · 01/01/2015 11:33

I went to a Mamas and Papas store to have a look and play with them (SW London) - not sure if there's one near you? They were really helpful and let us try it in the car to see how it fit.

minipie · 01/01/2015 11:39

Happy New Year all! we had a super quiet one - my parents came round for a drink and we talked about paint colours, very rock n roll Grin

londonlivvy that's really useful thank you! definitely looking for second hand as hopefully we won't need it all that long. what do you mean by the sleeping bag, is that like a footmuff? and how do you find the tyres, I've read they get flats a lot? Good info about the handle thanks, I am short and DH is tall so extending is quite important.

cinnamongreyhound · 01/01/2015 11:44

Happy new year to all! We had a night in, kids went to bed at 9 dh and I stayed up until midnight, watched the London fireworks, spoke to my parents and went to bed. I've run parkrun this morning, so started 2015 as I mean to go on Xmas Grin

I wish I hadn't gone out last night, woke up feeling hungover despite not drinking a drop! Think it's just a combination of tiredness and dehydration - tried to avoid drinking too much as the queues for the loos were awful and I need to go often enough as it is. Was standing up most of the night too which made my back ache. Grump grump grump. I definitely won't miss being able to go out for new year - it's never a great night out!

PenguinPoser · 01/01/2015 12:18

Happy New Year everyone! I was asleep by 10.30 - conveniently woke up to watch the fireworks then went to bed Grin

RL we went to a mamas and papas shop to have a look, the assistant was great she did a whole demonstration and let us have a play with it. I'm in the north - they have stores spread around all over the country. If you're looking at the cosatto giggle as well I've just had an email from mothercare they have it on offer at the moment with a free car seat at well Smile

londonlivvy · 01/01/2015 12:47

minipie yes the sleeping bag is like a foot muff though comes right the way up. I can just squeeze DD into it now if she's cold on the way back from the park. Invaluable once they've grown out of the cocoon. But then DD was born in October so lots of winter walks.

punctures... not too bad. I've had four, or five, in two years. I carry a puncture repair kit, pump and spare inner tube with me, but then I've had years of practice cycling so don't find it a big issue. one alternative you have is to fill the inner tube with slime ( designed for mountain bikes) so they can never go flat. Most half decent bike shops would be able to do it for you.

the Phil and TEDs sleeping bag is officially termed cozy toes I think.

Wineandchoccy · 01/01/2015 13:13

Happy new year, I can't believe I'm going to be a Mummy this year Grin

We went for an Indian last night and we were back home for 10pm, DH is suffering today though, ha ha ha!

On the subject of prams we have got the Silver Cross Pioneer, there is a 8 week waiting list for it from John Lewis, Mothercare, Mamas and Papas etc but we went to the Silver Cross outlet shop in Bradford and bought a shop demo for £400 which is £200 off a brand new one. They do other brands and have an ebay shop so deliver it's called Babycare bradford.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 01/01/2015 13:26

I forgot who mentioned it, but we went for a Cosatto! Got a great deal, and love the pattern

we went for a cosatto giggle 2 from the amazon black friday sale :) really must get it out of the box...

Lauren82000 · 01/01/2015 13:30

Well we were supposed to put together our ikea furniture today but DH starting dying about an hour after he woke up and now the footie is on so we're doing it tomorrow instead.

Went to DH's grandmas last night for the annual family party. Couldn't believe DD and the other kids lasted till 1am! I wanted to go home from about 11pm though as I just couldn't get comfy, my back, hips and bump were all aching and there is nothing worse than watching everyone get pissed around you. You end up keeping an eye on the kids and supervising the adults being idiots too. Wink Then again me and DH's cousin (my best friend) were the idiots last year got really wasted, she's such a bad influence despite being younger than me. Blush

Going to my mums today for dinner. Mmm she's making Christmas dinner yummy. Smile

Hidingthefear · 01/01/2015 13:32

RL I went to Mamas and Papas in the Trafford centre and they had it on a stand so we wheeled it around and a lovely lady showed us how to fold it up and downa nd change the attachments. It was by far the easiest of all the ones we tried. Especially seen as i'm so short! I'm 5ft 1 and DH is 6ft1 so it was nice to have a pram that we are both comfortable with. We spent a while in John Lewis looking at Quinny's, and silver cross'(which I really thought i wanted), and buggaboos, and city Joggers. But for me the Zoom was a great all rounder and the price just made it an even sweeter deal (even though I wasn't paying for it). We chose the lime one coz I thought it would be good for both boy or girl (we bought it before the scan) and they have loads of choices of seat inserts and foot muff etc.
We didn't buy in store though as I wanted to show my mum what she was buying us first and she lives in spain and once she said she was buying it she also offered to get our furniture too so we ordered everything online. Got our cotbed, drawers with changing top, and wardrobe from there too.
really begining to love mamas and Papas and their customer service on the phone is great too. I cancelled our book case because we realised we din't have room for it and it was all done really quick.
it's probably a good thing I don't have a store closer to me otherwise i'd be in there everyweek!! (got my tommie tippie electric breast pump and changing mat from there in the sale too lol)

Hidingthefear · 01/01/2015 13:36

oo also, you get a £15 gift card emailed to you if you spend over £150.
and when i registered I got a £5 voucher sent to me too (then just unsubscribed to the newsletters afterwards)
www.mamasandpapas.com/product-zoom-trio-package-blacklime/493230700/type-i/

they also do parasols and stuff too and it's all reasonably priced. I don't mind having second hand stuff but pram and car seat I wanted to be new (mainly coz this is my first, but I would defo keep it for a second one if we decide to expand our family)

BananaToast · 01/01/2015 13:37

Hiding I have a Mamas and Papas and Mothercare a 5 minute drive away. Every time I'm bored I go for a wander! I've been quite good at not buying things every time but like going to scout out things I'd like or just coo at all the cute things.

daholster · 01/01/2015 16:12

Wow there's been lots of chat since yesterday! penguin yes I do have a stoma nurse but she has been less helpful since I have approached the year post op mark, I think she thinks I should cope with. Everything and not be double checking all the time now, I used to have loads of problems with leakage and it took us ages to find the right bag. I'm a bit frustrated that these ones that were such a relief to find might not be doing the job now. I think I'll see if I get any more leaks and if I do then I'll pick her brains. I don't think she has had that many patients pregnant with stomas so I don't know how much she would help... I think she'd point me towards the surgeon who would say wait and see... Still, if things continue on a downward trajectory with pain/leaks then I will ask. I'll probably go and see her for a chat before labour too if I get a chance.

TENS machines - I used a non labour one from my MIL for early labour last time and it helped a bit when they were in the right place. I laboured at home for 7 hours before going in and when I arrived I was 4cm (though progressed quickly after the MW had examined me) - I found it helped less once I was there and things were moving quickly but then dd was back to back and by the time I took it off to get in the bath I was pushing and had to get out again!!! I will hire one specifically designed for labour this time I think and hopefully it will work better. It definitely took the edge off for me even if it was just distraction - and it wasn't even one designed for labour. But the stickers kept peeling which was most irritating...

We put the crib up the morning I went into labour! I called dh to come home and he put it up then before we went into hospital Smile No need to have rushed because I stayed in a few days anyway.

Got some M&P clothes in the sale for dd age 2-3 for summer time. They tend to come up small compared to other shops. Boots clothes tend to be very slender too - the sleep suits didn't fit my dd's thighs when I bought 6-9 month ones for her!

Happy new year everyone! We're having another baby this year! Seems much closer than it did last night... So much house stuff to do...

25+2

LadyNovember · 01/01/2015 16:25

Which pattern did you go for Ebwy? Ours is preorder, so it won't arrive for another couple of weeks, I think. Did you get the car seat deal? We got the giggle 2 with car seat from PreciousLittleOne, with a code it came to £367..bargain! Grin Mum and her DP bought that, Dad bought the wardrobe, drawers and car seat base and we got gifted a nearly-new cotbed. We got the cribs in the sale and used a voucher so only paid £25 for it! Winning! Wink

Fable is one of my favourites too..we've gone for Moonwood though :)

cinnamongreyhound · 01/01/2015 17:03

Argh I've been sick today (and almost passed out which doing it!) and was sick at the hospital Tuesday, which dh out down to stress. Really don't want ms back at this stage! Sorry to seem ungrateful for those who haven't actually stopped yet. My sickness Christmas Eve I still think was a bug as it lasted much longer and was during the night but perhaps it's all something lingering? No one else has been ill.

Glad everyone's having so much fun shopping!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 01/01/2015 17:41

erm.. don't know what it's called, but it's the one with stars :) We didn't get the car seat, we don't know what car we'll have so will get one after the car (rather make sure it'll be ok). We need a new car so we can fit 3 child seats in, the fiat 500 only just fits 2!

LadyNovember · 01/01/2015 17:55

Ah I love the all star one too..we almost picked that one!

Yeah we only have a fiesta so luckily this will be DC#1 and will fit fine! X
