HI Guys, I am still confused, so please join me on this one.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
castlesintheair · 01/11/2006 08:29

Ooh, and Eliboo, NICE ONE! How exciting!!!!

Gloria42 · 01/11/2006 08:55

Well I think I jinxed it by saying online that was "low-risk"! MW now tells me baby is breech. At 32 weeks, is there anything i can do (other than hope and pray for divine intervention) to make the little one turn round?

tinshoes · 01/11/2006 09:10

Gloria - this is a good article about breech babies

Gloria42 · 01/11/2006 09:14

Thanks! I know there's still time for it to move, but the idea of a c-section scares me to death!

PumpkinMilkshake · 01/11/2006 09:21

We must be nearing the end now all these issues are rearing thier heads.

WB hang on in there.

BWB when my dd was in scubu they encouraged me to express milk which would be fed to DD down her tube, then topped up with formula as I was litterly axpressing just teaspoons. My milk did'nt come in for about 2 weeks, by which time DDwas established on formula and I was about to risk further problems. This time I will try harder.

PumpkinMilkshake · 01/11/2006 09:22

By the way did anyone else have problems logging on last night. BT servers seemed to be down all evening!

EliBoo · 01/11/2006 10:02

Bewilderbeast, I feel for you with the lack of support/interest in BFing...I really really struggled for first few weeks with dd (she wasn't premature, but she did lose too much weight, got too weak to suck, and my milk was late). FWIW, she ended up being cup fed for a few days, then bottle fed expressed plus formula, and at about one week old I got some help from a BFing counsellor, and off we went - was never 100%, but I did manage to feed her till six months old with formula top-ups in the evenings. It was expensive (I had someone come in for an hour's session, privately) but worth it if you can afford it. NCT also very good, but unfortunately for me dd was born at Xmas and no one was available! Meantime, big hugs to you and hang on in there if it feels right...and do'nt beat yourself up if it doesn't...and remember there is NO one way/perfect way etc. Hormones are hellish those first couple of weeks even without the shock your body has been through. And hurrah for baby Joseph - stubborn is good

VanillaMilkshake · 01/11/2006 10:03

Me again!!

have just bought a set of Tumble Dryer Balls on e-bay for £8.50 + £1 p&p. They claim to reduce drying times by up to 25% and I knwo from a friend that they help reduce the need to iron. Really useful as we're all going to be very busy soon.

EliBoo · 01/11/2006 10:10

WB, I suspect they wrote that in your notes because out of the rare problems associated with polyhydramnios, tof is one of the more common ones. But its still rare! They probably just need to put a 'heads up' in the notes in case someone else is using them to go by. Is there any way you can ask your consultant more about it next visit? Why he's worried, if its just a precaution? Its bad enough losing your hoped for homebirth without having unnecessary fears flung at you!

Jabber, I couldn't do the photo upload thing either - but I'm certainly looking forward to yours

Gloria, my dd turned at 36 weeks - 32 weeks is way early to worry about position, IMO, you have a very very good chance your baby will flip! Fingers crossed for you - and worse case scenario, a section needn't be so bad. Mine was a calm, happy, straightforward birth experience with all the wonder of meeting dd I could have hoped for...though its sooo normal to be nervous, I certainly was!

Castles, yes, have to confess I'm excited...though slightly anxious about the bp going 'unstable' (quoting notes) as I know all too well from last time that a smooth run-up to delivery doesn't necessarily stay smooth! Ooooh, can't wait though..dh is getting cot out of storage this afternoon, and car seat needs to come down from attic, and omg what about xmas cards, and and and....I think I need a Milo or something....

EliBoo · 01/11/2006 10:11

Will you tell us if they work, PumpkinM? Sounds v useful! BTW, our servers were ok last night I think...though I didn't log on much...maybe regional??

VanillaMilkshake · 01/11/2006 10:23

Will do Eli!

Meant to say Gloria you can spend some time on all fours - that's supposed to help. Or is that to get a tranny to a longline??

EliBoo · 01/11/2006 10:33

Supposed to help with either - I watched loads of TV on all fours with dd, and she did turn (no idea if that was coincidence, because she turned at night when I was propped up on a hundred pillows on my back, as i recall!). But slouching back on sofa is not supposed to be great for positioning

VanillaMilkshake · 01/11/2006 10:35

I am so worried I keep waking up on my back. It's so comfortable for head and shoulders, but bump and bladder are what wakes me!
Why did DH have to chuck out the floor cushion?? That was great for keeping my more upright!

EliBoo · 01/11/2006 10:35

OMG its November today!

And now, I promise, I'll stop posting and go and do something practical...

VanillaMilkshake · 01/11/2006 10:38

Stay and keep me company - you can share all the sweets that I have as no trick or treaters came. I am on the phone trying to arrange a mortgage interview. After that I really should go and out some washing on the airer.

VanillaMilkshake · 01/11/2006 10:39

And yes OMG November!!! DH keeps saying we can say the baby will be here next month now!! Like it's coming bl**dy mail order or something!

Gloria42 · 01/11/2006 10:50

Eliboo and Vanilla, thanks for suggestion! Will have to be sure curtains are shut - my big behind up in the air might scare the neighbours! (Plus might give DP ideas IYKWIM!!!!!!!!!!)

castlesintheair · 01/11/2006 10:51

Gloria, don't worry, they can try and turn your baby externally. Also, like someone said, try and spend as much time as possible on all fours If you do have to have a c-section though it is much calmer when "elective" and recovery is always better etc. Was for me anyway and I'm due to have my 3rd!

Now you're all going to think I'm going MAAAAAAD but I am hearing strange noises in the night. Not just last night (halloween) but over last couple of weeks. I actually thought there was someone in the kitchen last night (well at 5am). It was like someone was emptying the dishwasher and making a cup of tea. Bravely went in there and nowt of course. Please tell me this is a pg thang and I am not alone in my insanity.

VanillaMilkshake · 01/11/2006 11:04

Def PG. I hear stuff all the time. Though I heard our car doors being opened and shut this morning!!

OMG look at time will be late to get DD from Pre-School. Laters!!

EliBoo · 01/11/2006 11:21

Castles, what on earth are you talking about??? clearly going mad, or haunted

OK then, I've had several nights of hearing noises, thinking I've heard dd, waking up and thinking a dream is real....too pregnant, too little sleep, and, possibly, foxes

EliBoo · 01/11/2006 11:22

VM, I managed three practical things then caved. But don't tempt me with sweets - dh and I raided dd's treat box after she was asleep ( I know, dreadful, but rationalized that she ahd far too much and she's not even three and its BAD for her...] and itching far worse for it! Penance for me today...

Loulou000 · 01/11/2006 11:29

Hello everyone. Commiserations to all with puffy ankles. I am living in one pair of saggy trainers now. My face is actually blooming. My skin has never looked so nice. But who cares when the rest of me looks like a puffy whale?

Eliboo, wow, it must suddenly seem so soon now! Would you be happy or sad if your bump turned around etc.? I don't quite know what to think about possible section either and have just the same feelings. Might find out on Friday at next scan.

castlesintheair · 01/11/2006 11:30

Yes, Eli, could be foxes. DS said he saw a dog in the garden. Urban foxes do look a bit dawg like don't they? Or could be oversized hedgehogs. DH said something was munching through the outside bin the other night. He kicked it and rustling stopped. I think I just have to accept that I am going maaaaaaaaaaaaaaad! When I had my check-up yesterday and I could not remember a thing I had to ask the OB It didn't help that she kept banging on about the cat she wanted to buy and the state of her brother's marriage. Do you think they do it deliberately to unbalance you so you don't bombard them with questions?!?

judemum · 01/11/2006 11:32

actually I heard music the other night at about 3am- we live in a tiny rural village so no possibility of noisy neighbours etc. it was very wierd, but then sometimes I do think our house is haunted, so it may just be that. Ghosts less worrying than insanity

castlesintheair · 01/11/2006 11:36

Yes, Judemum, ghosts don't bother me, if they do exist. I just wish they'd shut-up and stop waking me up
