jabberthefriendlyghost · 28/10/2006 12:02

PS - glad you're going in on Tuesday

weirdbird · 28/10/2006 12:04

A whole week EliBoo!!

My poor DD is going to miss out on any Half Term fun then!

weirdbird · 28/10/2006 12:05

Jabber, wow that sounds like a fab costume, I think you should definitely post up a photo for us to see

jabberthefriendlyghost · 28/10/2006 12:07

We'll see. If it looks in reality like I have it in theory...

castlesintheair · 28/10/2006 12:36

WB, I've been on iron since I had my stint in hospital (3 weeks ago?? can't remember). My DCs have had a cr half-term as I am so feeble still. The iron hasn't stopped me feeling faint, I have just cut back on activities and I lie down when I feel dizzy, hence the cr half-term!

Enjoy the halloween parties. I wish I had the energy. Still in my jammies here

accessorizequeen · 28/10/2006 14:43

Oh dear, castles, doesn't sound like you're having a good time of it, much less the dc's. Dizzy spells still continuing??
Congrats & OMG at the new arrival, that sounds v.stressful bewilderbeast. Have you had to leave hospital without lo?
Eli, have you bought some wambamboos by any chance? Was just wondering whether you'd got newborns or size 2s as I wasn't sure which to buy? Which website did you use?

PumpkinMilkshake · 28/10/2006 17:19

WB, make sure you drink loads and step up the intake of fibre, fruit and veg!!! You don't want to be producing your own coal like I was.

Incidentally i have stopped taking mine for that reason and am now much more regualr and less bloated.

spinamum · 28/10/2006 17:29

Congrats BWB and Joseph. Wow!

Gosh everytime I take more than 24 hours away from MN, one of you girls has a baby!

On the mat stats, officially I go on mat leave on my due date!! But I'm taking two weeks hols before and as I'm part time ,my previous week finishes on a Thursday so really I'm on hols(ehem, mat leave) from 37 and a half weeks. That's the current plan and it's based on my mum and be having a history of 42 week pregnancies.

I can't trump anyone on the boobies front though as mine are only 38DD.(my frame has gone up more than my cup size. BOOOO!)

EliBoo · 28/10/2006 17:37

Ooooooh, Jabber, photo photo photo. Definitely! Some of us have to do the glam Halloween parties vicariously, please indulge me..

WB, sorry....though its not quite as bad as it sounds, because each day should be a little bit better than the one before. Its not all at once. Do keep drinking lots, and rest whenever you can too. I had a virus at same time as anaemia, so was never quite sure how the 'feeling better' was related to iron or mere recovery....but I do know you need to give iron several days to take effect. Take Vitamin C or lots of orange juice with it, helps the absorption or something.

I have utterly totally knackered myself today, but at least it as productive; felt I had to take advantage of a good night's sleep to do mega chores, nest like crazy, and go for long walk with dd. Was limping and waddling home, but hopefully will sleep better tonight and, you never know, might have walked baby into something other than tranny position...

EliBoo · 28/10/2006 17:40

AQ, yes, I did buy Wambamboos! Love them, they're so soft...can't remember which website, I either googled one or used a link on the Nappies section? There are lots of links there, if you do a MN search on Wambamboos you'll get threads full of 'em.

Jabber, meant to say thank you for the clucking: very nice to be the clucked over and not the cluckee

EliBoo · 28/10/2006 17:41

Sorry, tired brain: AQ, I think I bought two newborns and one the next size up....to start with....have such a selection of makes. They do arrive fast when ordered, so I figured I'd use a variety, plus the occasional disposable, the first couple of weeks until I get my head around what works best for me/dd2 - then order more.

accessorizequeen · 28/10/2006 20:17

Spina, mum & I both have 42week pg history too but I just don't think I can take the stress much longer, I'm having panic attacks on the days I'm at work. God knows how I wld have managed if working full-time (I'm 3 days).
Eli, if we're both using wambamboos, we can definitely keep each other going. I've bought 2 packs of pampers for the hospital tho'. A friend's going to give me some cloth, but I don't know what they are. V.keen on wambamboo tho, as we live in hard water area & people rave about the softness even without a dryer (which we don't have).
Jabber, hope you enjoy your party! Realise belatedly that I asked you qu about pnd then never responded to you, sorry about that, lost track of threads. You sound like you're being v.sensible about it all, I think I'm sticking my head in the sand. Was on verge of going on anti-d's again when found out I was pg, but I find it hard to remember how bad I was really. So much of it with me is hormones & blood sugar. Did someone say they got worse when they stopped bfeeding? Cos I read that it can be getting your period back (shortly after you stop bfeeding) that sets the hormones off again & women often get pnd at that point. Going on a progesterone-only pill might help apparently?

magnolia1 · 28/10/2006 20:56

Welcome to Baby Joseph Bewilderbeast, hope you are doing ok?

Have fun Jabber

Dd4 is really poorly so been up all night with her and when dh took over my heartburn was so bad I couldn't sleep so I only slept from 11pm-1am and then back to bed at 6am

Girls are trick or treating on Tuesday so been trying to find costumes but everywhere sold out!!! Might have to make some

castlesintheair · 28/10/2006 21:16

I think I MAY have discovered why I (& DD) have had the runs since we moved here a month ago. We both drink quite a lot of tap water. TMI ALERT. DH was giving DCs a bath tonight and what looked like sewage came out of one of the taps!!!! Do you think that is possible???? It's been really bugging me that it can't be a symptom of pg (also feeling so sick some days). I am ringing the water board on Monday and in the meantime we are not going to drink tap water unless boiled. Yikes!

castlesintheair · 28/10/2006 21:22

AQ, yes PND CAN crop up when you give up breast-feeding esp if you do it for longer than average. Of course this is rare so don't be put off anyone! A friend of mine got REALLY bad when she stopped after 18 months. Something to be aware of. Some think it's cobblers but as a fellow sufferer I will try anything to prevent it again: I read that there are quite a few herbal/homeopathic remedies that are meant to help/prevent. Let me know if you want me to tell you about them. Don't want to bang on unnecessarily

magnolia1 · 28/10/2006 21:22

Ewwwwww Castles, if that is the case I would be making a major complaint to the waterboard especially being pg and already having children. They will come and test the water that you drink and go from there but definately bottled water for now. Poor you and dd xxx

EliBoo · 28/10/2006 21:59

Castles ugh! I remember when the reservoirs were low, I was living in Clapham and suddenly teeny wriggly things were coming out of the hot water tap.....urgh, urgh. Sewage probably even worse, bacteria wise. I hope its not, but do do do ring water board. And yes, please, would love to know the remedies you mention some time - would Agnus Castus be one of them?

AQ, it was me who felt really low when stopped BFing...at only six months, though. It lasted a couple of weeks, and was definitely hormonal - I wasn't pining to continue. I felt utterly crap: exhausted, weepy, bad about myself, etc. We can keep each other going on that score as well as the Wambamboos then...

Jabber, hope you're partying soon....muscles back in place....scary witchy bump at the fore (tell 'em you're hatching a demon or something ) and don't forget to get a photo taken!

Magnolia, sounds like an awful night...hope poor dd4 is better, and that you get some decent rest.

Off to bed myself, perchance to sleep or maybe itch

Calmriver · 28/10/2006 22:00

Well done BWB!!!! Welcome Joseph!!! I haven't been on and another baby!Lets hope this is getting the ball rolling for us all.

I have had a hot curry for dinner tonight, along with a lemon tart from Waitrose and I really can feel some heartburn starting... I have bald babies and apparantly not much heartburn is a sign of not too much hair on the baby! My friends all go on this. The ones that suffered with heartburn had babies with mops of hair..?

OP posts:
EliBoo · 28/10/2006 22:13

I had dreadful horrible heartburn and dd was as bald as Phil Mitchell....

...curry is almost worth it though, isn't it?

PumpkinMilkshake · 28/10/2006 22:42

I had horrible heartburn with DD and she came out with lots of hair. This time I have'nt had much at all, except when hungry or slouching after dinner.

For instance Thursday and Firday I had jalepeno's and doritos at lunch time - not a thing!

But I think bump's payback is to headbutt my pelvic floor...oooh, ouch

lucy5 · 28/10/2006 22:48

My dd was as bald as a coot and I had terrible heartburn, same again this time but obviously don't know about the hair yet!

I got mild pnd when I stopped bfing dd at 17 months, I took magnesium and vit b6 which was miraculous.

I went to a halloween party tonight and felt bloody awful so came home early. I'm even pissing myself off with all my moaning

lucy5 · 28/10/2006 22:52

Also my period came back 7 weeks after I had had dd, on my birthday!

PumpkinMilkshake · 28/10/2006 23:06

Lucy - maon all you want, that's what we're hear for!

which leads me on to say......Going to see IL's tomorrow - wish me luck. Practising smiles in the mirror earlier but they all came out like a grimace, or sarcstic or like I was trying to fart! Well I suppose I could always resort to that to be ushered out early .

lucy5 · 28/10/2006 23:31

Good luck with the ils!

Calmriver · 29/10/2006 08:26

I know, you hear all these tales about pregnancy and baby...not much to go on really. I'm still convinced I will have another baldie either way! My 2 year old DD is only getting her hair through now...very cute though and keeps them younger for longer.

I can't stop eating!!!
