HI Guys, I am still confused, so please join me on this one.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
weirdbird · 26/10/2006 16:27

AQ we can see who gets to the highest letter when there milk comes in!!

My problem is that prior to children I was a 32D so big busted but with a small frame, when I am pregnant I only get so much bigger on the frame so far am a 34 so I look beyond ridiculas with these HUGE things on the front of me, I went up to a J last time when my milk came in, but have gotten bigger earlier than last time am as big now as I was just before I gave birth last time.

Just find it all depressing, was left with 2 empty shopping bags for a chest last time

VanillaMilkshake · 26/10/2006 16:56

Well if we're comparing I was an EE before falling PG this time and who knows what I am now. Bra's fit where they touch but who wants to buy underwear when you can shop for baby stuff!

Loulou have you got no one close who can pick you up from hosp with a borrowed car seat???

weirdbird · 26/10/2006 17:24

LL do you take Taxis on a regular basis, will any family be wanting to take you out in a car or will you only be using it to get home from the hospital?

Travel systems are great if you are going from car to pushchair to car again, but if this is for an occasional trip in a car, I would try and borrow one for the first 6mths, is there no one you know who could lend you theres for the occasional trip?

weirdbird · 26/10/2006 17:35

Damn, have just realised in all this talk of expanding busts that mine are starting to display the signs of getting larger again, there feeling tender and achy and have gotten harder again.

Am now really hoping that I am further along than they think, who knows I could come home and be able to announce I am actually about to drop any day.....

Do you like my wishful thinking!! :O

jabberthefriendlyghost · 26/10/2006 19:25

loulou, our stroller for ds only worked for a newborn with the car seat attachment in it. So, if you had something like that, you could get a lot of use out of it even if you weren't using it in the car much IYKWIM.

accessorizequeen · 26/10/2006 20:30

I was EE before getting pg this time (they were smaller before I had ds sadly), so the 'couple of cup sizes' that they say you'll put on is a load of rubbish in my case.
There are ladies who went up to M-cup on mnet, so they must do bras for them!
A travel system by definition will take or includes a car seat doesn't it? I thought that was the whole point of them. I thought some of the newer systems like Quinny means that you only have the carrycot or the car seat on at any given time (so wld only have to take the frame & car seat with you, Loulou). If you've a standard car seat on loan from someone, then many of the pushchairs will take it with an attachment - I'm looking at the attachment needed for my mountain buggy right now not that I've bought a car seat yet (we sold ours after ds was born).
Couldn't find milo at tesco yesterday, so sadly I can't bribe my ds to bed with a mug of it, VM! I know he'd love it tho'.

jabberthefriendlyghost · 26/10/2006 20:46

oops, guess my post was a little redundant

I see that's exactly what you're thinking of, loulou

pregnancy brain alert....

magnolia1 · 26/10/2006 20:51

Our hosptial won't let you leave the ward without baby in a carseat and midwife comes down to the car/taxi with you.

magnolia1 · 26/10/2006 20:52

Oh and on the norks front, I bloody love being pregnant!! Normally a small b cup but now a large c!! Would be great for my sex lidfe if only my nipples weren't so bloody sensitive

VanillaMilkshake · 26/10/2006 20:55

DD went to bed with hot Nesquick - thankfully it can be hot or cold, phew.

Have just been on e-bay to sell a load more stuff, if it doesnt go next week it's off to pre-school in the blue bag! If anything is out of place in this house it's chucked or put on e-bay faster than the owner can blink - however house is still a blo**dy tip

Have had to repack baby bag for hospital as could not fit in the shawl my mum made for DD which was a dream come true for swaddling etc. Have taken out whole packet of nappies and am just taking 12. I am hoping as it is my second baby they will kick me out within a couople of hours of birth - that's if I go to hopstial at all. If not will send DH to the shop!

Incidentally what are you lot taking in for baby - blanket wise. I remember last time the goldfish bowl cot she has had bottom sheet but no blankets. Not that it mattered as I spent the entire night with her tucked up in the crook of my arm...ahh going misty eyed now.

EliBoo · 26/10/2006 20:59

Waaah! Too much to catch up on, even for me.

OK: on the boob front (as it were) I started off 34b, went to 38dd last time, then back down to 34c - rather happy with that. Only this time, I'm already up to 38dd now - and the nursing bras I had last time are too small already. Am in denial, and currently refusing to buy any bigger ones for post-birth...yet...

Lucy, if we ever manage to get email contact going I'll send you some cheese and crackers along with the Zantac and Magnolia's mag, ok?

Jabber, thanks for the googling and links...I've emailed my OB with the itching questions, and taken a bunch of dandelion root tablets dh got for me that are supposed to help if its PUPPS. As they are liver detoxers, suppose they can't hurt if its OC. And if its neither, which is most likely, ah well!

EliBoo · 26/10/2006 20:59

Ditto my hospital - they don't actually check, but they do ask re car seat.

lucy5 · 26/10/2006 21:00

Ive bought something called purelan for my sore nips, it really helps. I think kamilosan might be the English equivalent. I was a ee before pregnancy, i hate to think what I am now.

I don't know what to do about a hospital bag as here in Spain they provide everything, baby clothes, nappies, wipes etc nighty for me. i suppose i weill just have to pack going home stuff and toiletries. i have been told that they are very strict about what you bring in because of contamination?????????

lucy5 · 26/10/2006 21:02

Oops I keep forgetting to do the cat. I'll try my email again as I always forget the 5!

lucyhardwicke5 at hotmail dot com

How's the itching?

lucy5 · 26/10/2006 21:03

triple post!!!!!!!!!!! If anyone wants to add me to their msn please do!

VanillaMilkshake · 26/10/2006 21:06

Sod it!

MIL has just phoned we have to go there on Sunday...I wanted to go to DH's aunts instead - much more peceful (clean - whisper), but MIL and her powers of (emotional blackmail) persuasion and DH has crumpled sweet wrapper in a flame

Sod it! Sod it! Sod it!

Right I am off to sulk into a large packet of jam and cream biscuits.

Sorry for the rant

Night night!

Calmriver · 26/10/2006 21:41

Hi Guys, has anyone else been suffering with sore ribs? I have got such sore ribs on the one side...been like it for days! Anyone? maybe it's just me and my body!??

OP posts:
EliBoo · 26/10/2006 22:11

CR, wish I was! It would mean babe was head down I suppose....as it is, I have sore ribs on the side low down on both sides. And occasionally, very sore cervix and bladder when madam decides to go breech (usually when I'm walking somewhere).
What I can relate to, though, is size and strength of baby getting to the point where bits get very sore from repeated kicking/headbutting!

Lucy, tried email again - let me know! Think you did remember the 5 last time though...

Itching is back, as every evening, though no worse...off to take cold shower, smother in creams, etc.

Oh, nearly forgot - went to first antenatal class today. Very nice people, but I'm the only second timer - all the others are first timers; and apart from the fact that I spent my time trying to answer understandably anxious questions (and failed, frequently!) it was very difficult to keep my mouth shut when the HV was selling the party line about various things....kept wanting to butt in with eg 'no, you won't be a bit disorientated, its more like you won't have a clue who you are for the next six months' or 'whaddya mean, breast feeding can hurt just a little bit at the very beginning?!?!?' not helpful at all. So I think I'll give it one more week, then bow out gracefully....shame.

Indith · 26/10/2006 22:25

accessorizequeen I know they are important but we were considering not bothering as the law does exclude taxis and since we have no car and no friends with babies would have been a bit much to buy one for the trip home from hospital!

But MIL has e mailed me to say that she is buying us one So no more worries there. Think she may be hinting she expects to kidnap the LO at some point............

weirdbird · 26/10/2006 22:48

Ohh I know what I meant to ask, does anyone else on here use Live Journal?

Indith · 26/10/2006 22:50

yup I got an LJ

weirdbird · 26/10/2006 23:04

Do we want to share or is that far too scary?

jabberthefriendlyghost · 27/10/2006 01:02

Re: baby bag: we're lucky here as, like lucy everything is pretty much provided for the baby other than outfits. I'm going to take a hat too, but last time they gave ds at least one, maybe two, and I don't remember much about blankets, but it was in August. We'll have a few of those packed I suppose.

castlesintheair · 27/10/2006 08:27

What's a Live Journal?

Don't have sore ribs CR (tranny like Eli ) but everything else is sore!

Eli, I found my antenatal classes usesless (in hindsight) and it was NCT, dah-ling. I found the post-natal group set up by the HV much better as it's how I found my chums. A couple of friends went on the NCT refresher for 2nd time mums and found it useful/met like minded people, but it's the luck of the draw really isn't it? I didn't have a thing in common with anyone on mine!

Can feel the tears welling up again - is this becoming a daily thang me wonders, like morning sickness/fainiting? I seem to get all the depressing/bad news in the morning. Maybe I should stop checking my e-mails!!

On a more cheerful note I'm off to Ikea with the DCs. Wish me luck!

p555nat · 27/10/2006 08:38

Ok, hopefully Im on the right string now!! I'm not due Dec but 9th Jan, so kinda on the home straight! Can I join in?
