DC1 went into a new bedroom whilst I was pregnant so we decided to do the whole new room and new bed in one go. It was a pretty smooth transition. First night found DC1 asleep next to the bed on the floor.

DC2 we changed to a bed when the climbing out got really bad as it was dangerous. This child is not the greatest at staying in bed all night and at the moment bedtimes are simply stressful. Doesn't want to go to bed and has a full on tantrum and getting very cross with me. Currently in bed with us. Who knows how we will sort this before June!

I've been saying to DH for weeks "no more children". The pregnancies ruin me. They ruin my teeth every time. I can't do the nausea either.

cuphat · 01/12/2014 07:53

DD is nearly 18 months and not showing any sign of wanting to try and climb out of her cot bed, so we're keeping the rails up as long as possible. Her cot bed converts into a toddler bed which should last her until the age of 4 so we're getting another one the same for this baby.

I can't wait to decorate the new nursery but we'll wait until after the 20 week scan.

cuphat · 01/12/2014 07:55

There will be a two year age gap exactly between mine. Lucky I'm having a section otherwise baby could have been born on DD's birthday!

We've both only ever wanted two children so his will definitely be my last pregnancy (all being well).

bubalou · 01/12/2014 08:04

It will be a 7 year age gap for me almost by the time this ones born - however I never wanted two close together so it suits me fine.

This will definitely be my last one though.

I'm not going to lie I am almost dreading this baby a little (don't get me wrong I'm really excited) but DS was an angel.

Perfect pregnancy, great labour, had him sleeping through the night at 6 weeks. He is a great sleeper, went into a cot no problem in his own room and then into a bed no problems.

He is a very good boy.

I think based on this pregnancy this ones going to be the devil!!! Blush

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 01/12/2014 08:12

We just moved dd into a "big girl bed" (ie, took one side off her cot!) this weekend. Two nights in and so far so good although she was quite restless and awake last night, but she didn't get out of it at any point. She's quite a fragile little thing emotionally and takes things to heart much more than I expect, so I wanted to get her moved long before the baby so she doesn't think she's being shoved out! We will probably buy a "proper" bed for her around Easter time so that she has a few months of the cot being in the loft and not "hers" any more before we need it. She moved out of her bassinet at about 4 months so I'm working on the basis that this will be the same.

Scanday today for me. Eeek.

Jackiebrambles · 01/12/2014 08:22

Good luck with the scans today! 2 weeks today to mine. I've so got a bump now, I'm sure everyone at work is going to guess!

Our age gap will be 2 years 4 months. Dreading looking for a double buggy, we are in London so use buses all the time so manoeuvring a double is v important. We've got a baby jogger city mini at the moment which is ace.

cuphat · 01/12/2014 08:23

I feel the same, bubalou. DD has been such an easy child that I don't think it's likely that we could have another one the same. And people keep telling us that too!

If it's based on pregnancy then we might be lucky - I had a very easy pregnancy last time and this one is looking the same so far!

Hope your scan goes well pas.

Alisvolatpropiis · 01/12/2014 08:24

bub

There is a similar age gap between me and my brother. My mum has before she loved that she could leave me to watch him for 2 minutes whilst she went to the loo Grin

Good luck with the scans today ladies!

Jackiebrambles · 01/12/2014 08:27

People keep saying the same to me, if you've had an easy baby the second will be a nightmare!!

TheDetective · 01/12/2014 08:31

It happened to me. Easy number one. Nightmare number 2.

But you know what, he never fails to make me laugh. He has such a character!

I'd be happy to go through it Ll again for one equally as quirky as the one I have!

Ds1 was and remains well behaved (he has his moments!) and he's popular amongst his peers, makes friends easily etc. But he's always been quieter and reserved. Nothing like me! Loud and noisy and talks too much!

I love them both to pieces, but I've loved both experiences.

Weird huh?!

Tranquilitybaby · 01/12/2014 09:48

Good luck today pas! Anyone else going for a scan today?

Guess who decorated the spare room white and grey about 11 months ago. Dark grey carpet, gorgeous grey curtains and one stylish feature wallpapered wall with different cool cities on. Oh yes that'll be us. DH reckons we're not changing the wallpaper or curtains at all, poss ok for a cool little boy but not a girl! Urgh men!

Chookford · 01/12/2014 09:56

buba I have the exact same dear, my dd was the perfect child really... easy pregnancy, labour, baby sleeping through in own room by 7 weeks I just know this one is going to be evil! Grin I will have an almost 6 year gap between mine and I have a 10yr old dsd so I will have two helpers which I may very well need!!

Good luck those having scans today!

Chookford · 01/12/2014 09:56

ots · 01/12/2014 12:05

I had a really easy pregnancy with DS. Went into labour on my due date, had a relatively easy labour with no pain relief (not even gas and air... go me!). He was so easy as a baby, slept through the night at about 7/8 weeks. Until we tried to move him to a cot that is. I think he spent a grand total of 2 nights in it before we gave up and he slept in bed with me. Once he reached 18 months he was excellent at night, but OMG the tantrums. He had at least 5 tantrums a day, each lasting up to an hour. Nothing made him happy. Last Christmas (2 years 7 months), he changed completely. He's 3 and a half now and he's so well behaved, perfect at night, a really easy child. So while I'm dreading the next baby going through the tantrum stage, I'm also keeping in mind that we came out the other side without killing each other.

Good luck for scans today! Looking forward to another rush of gorgeous pics :)

tranquillity and Tori at least you have a nursery! DP and I are at the end of a soul-destroying, 10 month renovation of... a one bedroom flat Confused
When we put an offer on it well over a year ago, we hadn't quite got our heads around the baby stage! Before you call the social on us, it has massive high-ceiling Victorian rooms so we can create a livingroom-cum-nursery without things feeling too cramped. But obviously it does put a serious use-by date on the flat! Whoops....

PerpetualStudent · 01/12/2014 12:53

Oh, totally forgot my 'exciting' news of the day - which is I've ordered some New Look maternity leggings and a couple of floaty wrap dresses - thinking I can combine with chunky jumpers and boots now and then wear with sandals in the summer. Excellent shopping.

Also, is anyone else getting round ligament pains? I think this is what I'm getting, doesn't feel like cramping, it's a sort of twangy, muscly achy feeling on and off, particularly with any little movement which involves ab muscles?

Afternoon all,
I hav a 21 mth age gap between ds and dd and will hav 34 mths between dd and this bean.
My ds was a gud baby but he hit terrible 2's at 16 mths and now at just 4 is still a nightmare! Typical red head!
My dd was a clingy baby, ended up co-sleeping so we could all get sum sleep but now at 2.5 is a lovely little girl.. A busy bee but well behaved.
I dont know what i am in for with no3!!Confused

I dont like carriers so wont be investing in a new one, got a basic one for if needed but generally hav the pram.
I have a jane slalom reverse (single) and a jane powertwin (tandem double) which the carseat and carrycot can combine with.
We are waiting until we know if its pink or blue before deciding on room swaps/shares.

Good luck with scans this week.

Those at the 13:14 week stage.. Ru showing much? I've needed to get sum mat jeans as my normal jeans were cutting me in 2 but i havnt got a bump!! Sure i was showing by this stage the last 2 times.

I'm 11 weeks tomorrow, so I haven't got a bump (got a bit of a pot belly though!) but I can feel the uterus already a couple of inches above pubic bone. It's popped up really early 3rd time round!
