Hi - can I jump on this thread? Ive been lurking from time to time- last saw when we ( as a group) had our first scan.

I have a 14 month dd ( still breastfed- I'm a trained peer, ask me booby questions)

Found out today were having identical twins - due 4th June (but will be delivered may I think). Ultrasounder said wed previously had 3 babies hiding in there- secretly a bit relieved it's only the two now - 4 under 2 would be RIDICULOUS!

I'm going to be lazy and not read back through all past threads, but I'll pay attention from here. Promise.

Bellejessleo · 02/12/2014 20:26

iwant congratulations on the scan, I can imagine you are so relieved.
newgirl and everyone else with scans tomorrow, good luck! Smile

Bellejessleo · 02/12/2014 20:29

mummymog wow! Twins...Congratulations!! Shame about the 3rd..but can understand the feeling of relief. I find twins fascinating and would have loved to have them! This is my last baby though and know there's just one in there!

Zaccheryquack · 02/12/2014 20:32

Mummymog congratulations on the twins and welcome! There has been lots of writing in last 48 hours so hard to keep up.

May go and look on New Look website Perpetual they are doing good TopCashback I noticed at the moment too.

Glad all the scans are going so well this week. Have seen a couple more 4th June due dates like mine. i am definitely not Rebecca Addlington (I am a terrible swimmer!)

StopEatingThatMud · 02/12/2014 20:40

Quick check in from me. Hellooooo to newbies and good luck to imminent scan ladies.

Still hugely suffering with headaches/migraines. Every day bar one in the last couple of weeks. I've caved and taken cocodamol tonight, which has worked but utterly zombie-fied me so will catchuup properly tomorrow (hopefully!)

Thelovecats · 02/12/2014 20:46

Welcome to all the newbies :)
Iwant so glad your babies bladder looks ok.
mummymog congrats on the twins. I want to become a peer supporter too but am finding it hard to get the training where I live.

Has anyone else got scan on 10th? Mine is pm. I will be 12+1 and reasonably sure dates won't change too much.

Thelovecats · 02/12/2014 20:48

Oh, and re headaches, whoever recommended 4head to me thank you Flowers. I still have days where the headaches are awful but the 4head definitely helps.

Chookford · 02/12/2014 20:58

mummy congrats and welcome! Our second set of twins on the thread... I'm sorry to hear of the loss of one but can understand the relief as 4 under 2 would be manic! Three will be work enough! Grin

Kyz · 02/12/2014 20:59

Evening all :)

Thanks for the input bingo that's certainly something to think about! I've no idea if DS will still need a pushchair by the time LO arrives but he's a lazy thing now, so unless he changes drastically i'll bet he will do! He does love to walk, but if walking alongside the pushchair, it's only ten mins or so before he asks to get back in for a bit!

Thanks jazzy I do think it's more likely that DS will get a full single and this LO will have the cot bed - I wouldn't bother with a toddler sized bed because he's so big, so it makes sense to just get him a single and use the cotbed for LO

glad your scan went well pas

glad you have your scan date belle

bless you tori hope you feel better soon!

anything I felt a bit symptomless around then too, my 12 week scan was at 12+4 and tbh I didn't feel particularly pregnant. I don't think I do now tbh other than exhaustion and constant hunger, but the scan assured me baby is ok. It's just limbo stage for before feeling movements but after feeling totally terrible, so I think it makes you feel a bit un-pregnant if that makes sense!

Iwant your edd is my birthday, woo!

welcome ovaltine and congrats

hope your scan goes well tomorrow newgirl

welcome and congrats mummymog!! Twins, very exciting! :D

mummymog · 02/12/2014 21:07

stopeating - they gave me cool anti sickness tablets for migranes last pregnancy, I had to put them under my top lip. They knocked me right out and I woke up feeling much better.... I second 4head too though. And potassium- often clears up headaches for me (one of those disolvable tablets or perhaps a bannana would do it)

thelovecats i'm in asuper remote area and they let me V/C into training. Could you do that?

kyz it means I have a phone breast feeding mums can text me they're boob related questions on.

jazzyjenbo · 02/12/2014 21:08

Welcome and congratulations to the newbees....
Extra special welcome to mummy... Our 2nd lot of identical twins on the June bus! Yay!
Will you find out if they are pink or blue?
Its a shame re the 3rd but lots of us are thought to start off as twins/triplets but we end up as singles... My son was a twin but we didnt find out until he was born and there was evidence of his sibling..
I want... Reading your scan result I was so pleased for you, i can't begin to imagin the extra pressure u must feel when you go to scans after the loss of your first baby.. It must be reassuring that they are still going to closely monitor ur little one.
Sounds like we have quiet afew harmony results coming in over the next few weeks aswell.
I'll update the stats from today at bedtime tonight-- adding the newbees and confirming fab scans x

Was hoping for some advice please.

I've lost 6kg since I got pregnant... I can't keep my evening meal down at all and am having pregnacare now before I go to bed so I don't basically throw it up (sorry if too much info). I wasn't skinny to start don't get me wrong. 80kg so now at 74 kg I'm still a size 12. I'm eating breakfast and a decent lunch (Although I just don't have to room to each as much as my big appetite once did). I'm sure it's fine and at 12 weeks 4 days now and scan at 10 weeks said baby was right size. Have NHS scan next Monday so planned to just see how it goes and check he's the right size still then. Sure it's fine but just wanted opinion on if anyone thought I should flag this with my midwife? Apart from being sick and tired, I feel great though.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 02/12/2014 21:43

Evening all, nice to read of some new people arriving still Smile Congratulations on the twins, mummymog!

Having a lazy night tonight as, although I felt better earlier, the sickness has returned tonight and I am getting the aches too so I hope it's not flu jab side effects. Although if I feel crap tomorrow I should be at work so at least I have childcare sorted!! Not quite the attitude, I know...

Thelovecats · 02/12/2014 21:49

mummymog what does V/C mean? We have our own health authority here so I don't think I would be able to access any UK training unfortunately. If you're very remote where you live have they got a plan for extra monitoring/support for your id twins? Just being nosy!

Thelovecats · 02/12/2014 21:55

I would smiling as that's 7.5% of your body weight I think. They might just want to keep a closer eye on you that's all.

AnythingNotEverything · 02/12/2014 22:00

Mummymog are you an October 13 antenatal bus passenger?! I wonder if I know you ...

My dd is 13 months and I'm still bf. People keep telling me they didn't think it was possible to conceive while bf. You're definitely proving them wrong! That said, sorry about your loss. Relief and sadness all mixed up in one I imagine.

Deutschybaby · 02/12/2014 22:04

Hey all! Have had parents evening tonight (fun!) so haven't caught up yet, but I hope everyone's ok! I have my scan tomorrow at midday...I'm so nervous!

mummymog · 02/12/2014 22:06

smilingear2ear I wouldn't worry too much, I lost weight first tri last time and put it back on when sickness went away. Maybe add an extra piece of fruit to your breakfast if your managing to keep that down so your vitamin uptake is good? If in doubt mention it though- worst they'll say is 'oh that's nothing'

thelovecats video conferencing- I had to sit in a room with a proper old school tv. We've to go to inverness which is 1hr 30 away every second week for scans- it's goin gto cost us a fortune- you get half the fuel back, but it'll still add up. Dreading all teh travelling. I've to take DD on the bus with me on the way there, and her dad will come get us.

mummymog · 02/12/2014 22:09

anythingnoteverything your actually 11 x more likely to convieve non identical twins whilst breastfeeding than if your not. Fun fact. Ours are identical though- so it made no difference. Nope I didn't join mumsnet till after DD was born at the end of september- I was on the feeding boards ALOT though after she arrived.

AnythingNotEverything · 02/12/2014 22:19

I was too Mummymog! We had a tough start with feeding tubes and low blood sugars. I think Tiktok telling me that our treatment had been awful and that I should complain, and saying well done for persevering was what kept me going

Not keen on that stat though ... I haven't had my scan yet!

Hi! I have been dipping in and out of this feed and found it really helpful so thought about time I introduced myself!

I am due 21st June, with my first scan on Monday! Grin This is my first pregnancy so all very new and exciting but nerve wracking!

I have been struggling a lot with sickness and nausea, doctor signed me off work for 2 weeks as I have lost a bit of weight and really struggling! I almost daren't say it, but I am beginning to feel a bit better?! I am still being the sick but the nausea feels less constant!

I am struggling with sleep, hence the 3am post! Why I am awake?!?

cuphat · 03/12/2014 06:09

I'm another one who managed to conceive while breastfeeding. I've just stopped bf DD (a couple of weeks ago) at 17 months. It wasn't easy at the start so I'm hoping it'll be easier this time around...

Hello to all the new people.

I've been up most of the night coughing for the second night in a row. Oh well, I managed to have a couple of weeks of being well.

StopEatingThatMud · 03/12/2014 06:51

Hi newcy and welcome. My sleep is terrible at the moment!

I'm admitting defeat and taking the day off work having been awake since 5am and still feeling utterly crap. I hate doing it as lose a days pay. Am I right in thinking pregnancy related time off cannot be recorded against my normal sickness record?

Am going to attempt gp surgery roulette at 8.30am to try and get in and get my blood pressure checked. I'm sure it's fine but 2 weeks of headaches warrants a check I suppose.

DP already left for work. Anyone want to come and get DD up and to nursery for me so I can stay in bed? Sad

Phryn · 03/12/2014 07:28

Morning all Smile

Welcome to the new faces and congrats.

Sorry for those struggling with nausea/poor sleep.

Stop pregnancy related illness is meant to be recorded differently and not be counted towards any sickness targets or management plans that normal illness would be. Hope you feel better soon and that you get a GP appt (and maybe a parenting pixie to help out with your DD this morning).

My sleep is not great and I'm having very vivid dreams - last night's was horrible. In reality I went to bed with a stomach ache (just digestion being slow - nothing sinister). I then dreamt that my stomach ache got so bad that we called the midwives who came to visit and told me the baby had died, they couldn't hear it's heart beat but I'd have to wait to the eve to have a scan to check. So so awful. I woke up, went to the loo to check for spotting (all fine) which woke DH up so I told him about the dream and we had a cuddle. Everything feels fine physically this morning but I'd be happy to never have that dream again! Sad
