And you could eat loads of melted cheese dozy, winner!!

LAM1 · 10/12/2014 16:19

Oooohhhh cheese....I have skiing booked for January, would be 11/12 weeks!! Not sure what to do?! Will still go but not sure about the skiing part.
So after the pink brown discharge since the weekend I have spent the day at the EPU for the second blood test, followed by an internal exam (so now bleeding a bit) followed by a scan....have seen a heartbeat so doc is happy and sent me on my way, just need to monitor the discharge. Gutted DH wasn't there to see it!

Luciferbox · 10/12/2014 16:31

I totally forgot how tired you are in this trimester. I finished work early and have crashed on the sofa whilst DS climbs over me and all I want to do is sleep. Roll on DS and my bedtime.

mrsb0710 · 10/12/2014 16:42

Same here blueberry - we're going away in Feb for a wedding, and that's it. Save save save.

So tired I want to curl up and cry, work has put me on late starts which helps a bit. Was debating whether or not to ask for reduced hours, but they were not very understanding throughout my IBD illness, so I don't want to rock the boat.
Just pushing through it best I can. Feel like a zombie though, where's my pregnancy glow? Haha.

IceLemonGin · 10/12/2014 17:23

I'm feeling the tiredness too. Feels like jetlag! I don't think it's helped by the fact that I'm getting up 3 times in the night to pee. I've got a stinking cold too so I'm feeling sorry for myself.

Hope all the ladies with sickness are feeling better soon!

Time is really dragging at the moment!

Dozygirl · 10/12/2014 17:37

lam that's good news about the scan. And have fun skiing! If you're a confident skier I'd say go for it but just stick to easy slopes and don't go as fast so u can keep out of the way of other idiots and watch out for them heading towards u. I snowboard too but definitely not as good on that so I'll stick to skis if I go.

I'm feeling the tiredness too. Sometimes think it's just normal tiredness because life can be tiring anyway without pregnancy but then I think it might be baby.

Dozygirl · 10/12/2014 18:14

Mmmmm birchwood cheese. I love cheese. I've seen differing advice on Stilton. Some say yes some say no. U love Stilton. It's my fave at Christmas

LAM1 · 10/12/2014 18:20

dozy I was thinking about just doing easy runs as I am confident but as you say it's the other crazy idiots!! I'll see how busy it is I guess an see how I feel once there.....

Am going to be so unhappy when the Christmas cheeses come out!

iamhopeful · 10/12/2014 18:44

All these holiday's sound lovely, we are hoping to book a cottage somewhere in February but sunshine sounds good.

I was meant to see the Dr tonight but got a call to say it had to be cancelled, very frustrating, after explaining that I had waited a week and a half already and couldn't do the start of next week I am in for tomorrow evening…fingers crossed it all goes to plan. Will have to juggle the appointment before nursery pick up after work, all too much organising to do when I want to sleep!!

AliOh · 10/12/2014 18:49

Oh lucifer I know how you feel! Can't wait to get DS to bed in a bit so I can go too haha. Poor baby has been infront of CBeebies all day ive just got no energy to do anything Sad plus I made him scrambled eggs for tea (lazy) and promptly ran to the bathroom to be sick! Yucky!

daisysunshine2 · 10/12/2014 19:26

Well my little one is already being naughty and has taken a dislike to fruit and vegetables! Been having a healthy smoothie for the last week or so with banana, mixed frozen fruit, cranberry juice and some kale (can't taste the kale in it!) and I've been really enjoying it and looking forward to it each day... Tonight I made it took one sip and thought ooh not sure on that, took one more and then brought it all back up plus my dinner!! Haha it was the one healthy thing I was having as well... Let's hope the vitamins are enough! And all I can't think of is a nice cold smoothie to drink.... Mmmmmm

Dozygirl · 10/12/2014 19:53

Oh dear I'm not looking forward to if or when sickness starts for me!

frankie50000 · 10/12/2014 21:38

Hello ladies! Can I join you please?! Had a positive test last Saturday, which makes me due 13th Aug. This is #2. DD is 8. I'm 40 so got so many worries floating around - am I too old, will my DD cope, am I mad to be doing this all again with such a big gap?!! Bad planning too - due 4 days after DD's birthday! TBH I didn't expect to get pregnant again at my age!

DH was with me when I did the test but we haven't told anyone except a close friend - trying to keep it to myself until 12 weeks. So far I've had very sore boobs and lots of twinges but no morning sickness. Had a dream pregnancy with DD (other than scoffing Monster Munch constantly and putting it on 4 1/2 stone as a result! - won't be doing that this time Wink. I'm sure so much has changed since I went through all this 9 years ago. Not least the explosion of Mumsnet. So pleased that I will have a group of other mums to be to chat to and share worries/progress with Grin.

toothachereturns · 10/12/2014 21:58

Can I tentatively move onto this from the December bus? Got a BFP yesterday and today at only 9/10 dpo so definitely not firmly parking my ass here yet as I've had 2 cp already this year. If this bean is a sticky one it will be due 24th Aug. Smile

clairexxx · 10/12/2014 22:05

Hi everyone, hope your all okay this evening. I was just getting ready for bed and I feel terribly sick. I keep saying to myself I'm glad I feel like this because it means I'm having a baby and honestly that means the world to me! Okay, now I've started to cry! Oh dear.

I just wondered for those who have children, when am I likely to need maternity clothes?

Hi Frankie, congratulations. I'm sure your DD will love having a brother/sister to cuddle and boss around! There is 3 years between my sis and I so can't really remember much from when she was born but I was very close to my cousins growing up. There was 7 years between me and my youngest cousin. I loved helping to look after her and felt very grown up!

Guyropes · 10/12/2014 22:35

Hi everyone... Hope you're all feeling ok tonight... Waves and smiles nice to meet you, im another accidental on this board! hope sickness is under control for you: must be hard knowing how bad it can be...

Welcome frankie!! Congratulations. My youngest is the same age as yours, and I'm worried how she's going to find it... She insists she wants another sibling and doesn't want to be the youngest, but it such a big gap I'm not sure it'll mitigate being younger at all!

Hi toothache... Congratulations, and I hope you stay on this lovely board!

Claire... I didn't show til 5 months with my previous pregnancies, so moved to maternity wear around then... Remember discovering maternity jeans as such a relief!!! I will definitely be getting them sooner this time, as my clothes already feel uncomfortable!

Nona11 · 11/12/2014 02:03

Wow lots of new people since I last posted!
Congratulations to everyone on their bft.

We've started telling a few people but I'm really not looking forward to telling one particular friend. We were ttc for 13months before this happened which really concerned me as I'm relativity young. When I finally told her that we'd been ttc and I was worried all she said was "think about how I feel, we're not even trying yet!" No other words of support that was it.

The comment just really threw me, my friends that have been ttc for 5 years and are now starting ivf reacted fine about it.
On a more positive note my nausea is doing much better this week!

Shantotto · 11/12/2014 08:46

Just about to go to the dentist for a clean and check up - in really worrying about it as although I've only been sick once I'm feeling super nauseous. I'm really hoping I don't throw up all over the dentist.

wavesandsmiles · 11/12/2014 09:13

For those of you worrying about big age gaps, my DD was 8 when DS2 was born - she absolutely adores him and she and DS1 (10) are so helpful. It is great that they can help a little, and play with him. I am slightly worried that there will be 2 years between DS2 and this bean - and by my reckoning the EDD is a week after DS2's birthday. Summer babies are great though - it was lovely to have maternity leave over the summer and school holidays - no rushing about with school runs with a tiny newborn!

I am also suffering with the tiredness - today I am working 14 hours so by the time I get home I will be straight to bed!

wavesandsmiles · 11/12/2014 09:14

I am also having huge deja-vu - I was on the August 2013 ante-natal thread and still friends with so many of the mums from there. Bizarre that exactly 2 years on I am going to be following the same stages and symptoms

birchwoods · 11/12/2014 09:32

Morning all!

The midwife just called me and said that they have already requested my 12 weeks scan from the hospital so I'll receive that in the post, and I'll receive a letter from the midwives with my first mw appointment (I was hoping to be able to choose as it's getting really difficult with work to get time off). She said they wouldn't usually see me until I'm about 10 weeks anyway, which seems later than most other people are being seen? Are you all being seen at 7 -8 weeks? I'm also concerned that the doctor won't have written down when I know I conceived (17 Nov) and will instead have sent them the date of my last (and only, since coming off the implant) AF (12 Oct) which is totally irrelevant as I ovulated on about day 34 of my cycle!! If they go by the date of my last AF I would actually be 8 weeks now, which I am not!! That's fine if the wf sees me in a couple of weeks but if they use that date to schedule my scan, I'd only be 9 weeks in RL so not likely to see as much! Agh! Why don't they listen to us?!

Symptom-wise, still only painful boobs here, but they are getting really painful now.

How is everyone else doing? Those of you who have morning sickness how many weeks are you now?

It's so a miserable day today isn't it, I wish I was under my duvet still and not at my sodding desk!

birchwoods · 11/12/2014 09:38

Sorry for yet another post...but I've been meaning to ask you all a work-related question.

75% of my job I am office-based, at my desk or working from home. All fine. But 25% of my job can be quite physical, involving climbing ladders, crawling through lofts, walking over different terrain (mainly fields, woods etc...) which may also involve climbing over fences/gates etc... Yesterday, for example, I had to climb over quite a tricky fence (I'm not a robber!), which I wouldn't have liked had I not been pregnant. My DH thinks I'm being over the top and that at this early stage I don't need to do anything differently as the baby is still so tiny, so climbing fences etc...is fine.

What do you think? I instinctively feel much more aware of my body and putting it in danger now and things like that don't feel right. I can't wait to be able to tell work so I don't have to do certain jobs. At the moment I just have to get on with it.

Do any of you have a physical job? Am I going completely over the top?

IceLemonGin · 11/12/2014 11:50

birch I'd say at this point, your hubby is probably right BUT you should listen to your instincts over anything else. I don't have a job that is remotely like yours but I have noticed that I'm taking it much easier when I walk the dog, especially as the weather is so awful.

I've had a couple of waves of nausea but no sickness yet and I'm 6+2.

I've got a horrible, chesty cough...any ideas how to get rid of it? I'm like a zombie as it is without waking up coughing.

Congratulations to all the newbies!

Guyropes · 11/12/2014 13:03

Hi birchwoods, it's difficult; when do you want to tell your employer? They have to do a specific risk assessment once you tell them, which would give you an opportunity to discuss this.

I am up a ladder a lot atwork so am just being more careful and taking my time. My balance is a bit off.

daisysunshine2 · 11/12/2014 15:02

Hi birch congratulations! With regard to work and doing things I would say your DH is right and that your little bean will be well cushioned and protected at the minute. The way I always look at it though (and I know some people won't agree, it just works for me!) is to think "if I do this and then something goes wrong with the pregnancy, will I blame this event for it or will I think it was inevitable (which it most probably was) and what I did had no effect" I started that when I had spotting in my last pregnancy which did turn into a full MC but I had a wedding that weekend when the Dr had said to go on bed rest. The Dr also said though that what will happen will happen whether I lie in bed or go dancing so it's whatever made me feel less guilty really. I chose to go to the wedding and I'm really glad I did even though I did then miscarry - I feel it had no effect and would've happened anyway. So I guess what I'm trying to say in a long rambling way is to do what you feel is right and don't do anything that you think you would feel guilty for!

ice have you tried something soothing like honey and lemon or a warm (not hot obvs!) bath or just some steam with a towel over your head for 5 mins? Might just loosen things and help to soothe it a bit. Hope you feel better soon!
