Brummygirl I've been getting discharge too. I've head that if it's white and odourless it's completely normal. i know what you mean though about rushing to the loo in a panic!

Glitter, I feel really nauseous today. Eating seems to give some relief so I'm snacking on fruit, nuts & seeds and bread sticks.

Hope everyone is keeping warm today! No snow here but it's really cold!

birchwoods · 08/12/2014 13:01

Ice I've experienced really disturbed sleep since before I knew I was pg and it has continued. I think now I'm waking up in the night partly because my boobs are uncomfortable and partly to squeeze them to check they are still sore as I'm so paranoid! Madness!!

I've started to feel a bit more cramping today if I can really call it that. It's the same feeling as when you get the first inkling your AF is on its way IYSWIM? More of a heaviness. Is this what others have had? How bad does the cramping get?

Thank god it's Christmas soon and we get time off work. I just want to lie on the sofa under a blanket watching Disney films!

Has anyone dared to browse baby things online yet? I have looked at baby clothes on a couple of websites, very cautiously!

birchwoods · 08/12/2014 13:02

Brummie did you say you're moving to Worcester? I'm in Malvern!

Dozygirl · 08/12/2014 13:02

No symptoms for me yet. Operation keep fit during pregnancy has commenced with a 30min swim. I very much doubt i'll be able to keep it up but im showing willing for now. I just conscious i dont want to pile lots of weight on because i strugglr with my weight anyway but im quite active so that helps keep me a reasonable shape.

I'd just started doing weightwatchers before i got my bfp to try to keep me distracted from ttc and i'd lost half a stone so will try to keep that off as long as i can.

Brummiegirl15 · 08/12/2014 13:42

Birchwoods I moved to Redditch over weekend!! Moved from Bham city centre. So technically I'm not a brummie anymore.

Plan to give birth at Worcester rather than Redditch as previous pregnancies I've been consultant care and Redditch is only midwife led.

Heard v good things about Worcester plus my sister used to be an obs & gynae registrar there so it has a bit of familiarity about it if that makes sense!!!

IceLemonGin · 08/12/2014 14:24

Dozy I too am trying to keep control of my weigh, I have a high BMI and ideally I'd like to lose weight if possible. I'm doing SW.

Birch Sorry your sleep is disturbed too. The cramping I had felt exactly like AF pains. I've spent far too long a bit of time looking at the mamas and papas website. Cautiously, of course!

ruby242 · 08/12/2014 14:46

I've been looking at baby items too, I figure I want to enjoy the pregnancy I have now :) No buying yet though!

I'm only 4 weeks + 2 days so no sickness or tiredness for me yet, am dreading when that comes! Just sore boobs, thirstier and mild cramps-and new symptom today is lack of appetite compared to normal!

Is everyone who is getting an early scan had previous issues or are you just getting one for reassurance? I haven't had any previous mc and this is my first pregnancy and am tempted to get one at 8 weeks only otherwise it feels like forever until 12 week scan and I'd hate to find out something had gone wrong weeks before and I hadn't known! But I don't know if that's normal to pay for an earlier scan even if you haven't had any mc before?

birchwoods · 08/12/2014 14:59

Ruby I'm having an early scan at 6+6 as we would like to tell our parents and siblings on Christmas Eve (when I will be 7+2) and we would rather have had a scan first for reassurance. This is my first pregnancy and if it wasn't Christmas coming up and therefore almost impossible to hide pregnancy (obviously not drinking etc...) we would probably wait to tell people and not bother with early scan. Although I am a really impatient person so I'm not sure if that would have been the case or not!

Ice, sorry you're not sleeping well either. At least we can veg over Christmas.

whitwoochantelle · 08/12/2014 15:04

Brummie I've just moved doctors and had to go in just for them to refer me to midwives wasted journey! Fx my boobs are not to sore yet! Have been having really bad cramps in groin area seems to come n go! Just hope it means there nesting better!

Ruby I'm having early scan as I've had 2 mmc before this pregnancy x

whitwoochantelle · 08/12/2014 15:06

I've also had to tell work already I have a very physical job shifting heavy loads, he took it like a lead balloon

Brummiegirl15 · 08/12/2014 15:18

Ruby my early scan is a hospital one rather than a paid for private one as I've had 2 miscarriages this year already and no previous dc.

I think you only get hospital ones with EPAU if you've had previous issues - certainly for my hospital that is the case. But anyone can pay to have one privately - there are loads of clinics

IceLemonGin · 08/12/2014 16:37

Oh whitwoo sorry to hear that were weren't supportive.

Ruby I'm so tempted to pay for a private scan. It's my first pregnancy after 3 years of trying and I'm incredibly anxious. I am going to talk to DH about it tonight. We can't really afford it so close to Christmas but it would give me peace of mind.

Possibly a stupid question but are the early scans done internally?

mzzzf · 08/12/2014 17:29

Hey ladies

Well well the nausea train arrived for me today (6+1) and I had to survive work by sucking polo mints. I then had the most intense desire for salt & vinegar crisps at lunchtime - I could have had 3 bags of them!!!!

I'm hoping the pesky cold symptoms and headache are on the way out now too, they are not fun symptoms.

I'm not getting any cramps as such but I do get occasional twangs if I bend or reach over too much. Boobs are settling down too. Gaaaah there's so much to think about!

Ice it depends on whether they can get a good view abdominally or not. A good view depends on where your bean has attached itself, abdo fat and how big your bladder is. Don't worry if they do an internal though, it's very common early on and provides the best picture possible. I have a feeling I'll end up with dildocam for my early scan too! Grin

Shantotto · 08/12/2014 17:51

Have been quite nauseous today, and have had quite a heavy, dull sometimes quite sore ache in my stomach all day. And now my hips are twinging a not, but I have painful joints anyway.

I look up stomach pain in early pregnancy constantly, just as much says it's very bad as says nothing to worry about! It's such a minefield. I've no discharge and it's not too painful so have to keep telling myself it's fine.

Went to Boots today and didn't buy any more pregnancy tests! I was very proud of myself. Kinda I wish I has sown now though!

AliOh · 08/12/2014 17:52

Rubbish to hear some of you are suffering morning sickness already Sad it hasn't arrived for me yet. I found nibbling salty snacks the best with DS. A little bit of cranping here feels just like AF is coming, can't remember who asked but it shouldn't get any worse but having been through labour Any other cranping probably seems minimal Grin

Dozygirl · 08/12/2014 17:58

ruby I've been thirstier too and was wondering if it was a symptom. I usually forget I even need to drink so it's definitely unusual for me.

Sent my mum into the docs to pick up a midwife form because I was too embarrassed haha. Receptionist and form says I wont see a midwife till 11/12 weeks! That feels like a lifetime away. I thought it was 8 weeks? Obv if anything is wrong u can see a doctor but it makes it feel unreal waiting that long. What about for anyone else? Is it different in different areas?

nataliejayne1 · 08/12/2014 18:05

Dozygirl, maybe different in different areas but here I don't even have to contact the doctor or fill in a form, just have to ring the midwife. Rang the birthing centre today and I have a booking app for 29th, she said it's better to do it earlier if possible due to Xmas holidays and back log of people needing scans

Still no symptoms here and wishing there was! It still doesn't feel real and I am trying so hard not to buy another test just to 'check'

Dozygirl · 08/12/2014 18:48

it says the midwife will call once they receive my form so hopefully I won't have to wait long for at least a phonecall.

I'm off to egypt first week in January anyway so I'll be away when I'm 8 weeks. Another reason to not want to put to much weight on as I won't fit into my summer clothes and it's the wrong time of year to be buying new things. Hoping its safe to travel too. Things I've looked at so far seem to say it's safe.

Dozygirl · 08/12/2014 18:49

natalie im still tempted to poas lol. I've got four cheapie tests left so I may still check it in a few days lol.

birchwoods · 08/12/2014 19:20

Ruby, dozy, I've been really thirsty too!

Sounds like the mw process is v different depending on where you are. I had to take a urine sample to my doctors so they could check that I am actually pg, then I have an appt on Weds with GP, who will then book my mw appt, who will then book my scan!! Long-winded or what?!

clairexxx · 08/12/2014 19:30

Hi everyone,

I rang my local private clinic today and I can have a scan next week. The lady I spoke to was lovely and said if I am 4 weeks & 5 days then at the earliest I could have one at 6 weeks. She said the only problem is that I might not see anything and would spend 2 weeks worrying until I returned for another scan. Really not sure what to do.

birchwoods · 08/12/2014 19:36

Can you wait another week or so Claire and go just before Christmas? You're more likely to see something then and it would be a lovely Christmas present to yourself!

ruby242 · 08/12/2014 19:50

Its actually quite reassuring to see other people concerned and going for early scans-makes me feel like my slight worries are normal!

Funny how different areas do things so differently-I went to the doctor today and it was quite good, he didn't do a pregnancy test but spoke through things with me and I should hear from a midwife in under a month apparently so that's good.

Natalie, ive been poas every day so far lol! I just like seeing the line going darker but I really should stop as if one day it isn't as dark ill panic!

A new symptom today-not craving sugary food anymore! This is a symptom I like as normally I really crave sugary things but I have just wanted to eat healthily which is great so lets hope this lasts lol

Clare if I was you id wait to make sure you are going to see something-better to not risk make yourself worry more if you can?

mrsb0710 · 08/12/2014 20:34

Just wanted to say enjoy this time, we all know the risks before 12 weeks, but its still new and exciting to be creating a new little life.
Kind of disappointed at my sister's reaction - basically just get on with life, and don't be too excited yet. Really? I think the hormones are making me even more short tempered haha.

Dozygirl · 08/12/2014 20:38

I did get given a book called 'emmas diary' which has got a form in it for a free something u can get from boots or argos. Think its a bounty pack. Will pick it up tomorrow and see. Its got one for mum to be and one u collect at 27 weeks.

Cramps are bad this evening. Hopefully nothing sinister.
