Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 16th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 33rd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Morning!

I look really rough this morning, no idea why I thought I slept ok but I've got massive bags under my eyes lol. Oh well :)

Hope you're all ok

RPopz · 05/12/2014 08:06

Hooray for 8 weeks and for half way pregnant! Smile Its these little milestones that make it all bearable I think. I am 36 weeks tomorrow . Starting to get The Fear.... Confused

Not sure when 3rd trimester starts Zyla - think it depends which book you read haha!

Glad your phone turned up fresh - I'd be lost without mine too. May as well have my arm amputated Blush

I'm of the pale and interesting variety too La ... Think of the anti aging benefits... Impressed you didn't boot MrLa out of bed! Hopefully he's just getting it all out of his system now before mini La arrives...

Hope you're ok this morning Min xx

laurenamium · 05/12/2014 08:07

Oops sorry pis and Zyla!

Baby is just turned 1 so not tiny baby but still cuddly Grin

Definitely murder on the cards la! I also say pump, I'm not Scottish but have family in Scotland so it might have come down the generations!

BothersomeB · 05/12/2014 08:08

Congrats on 8 weeks la Grin

10 weeks today! Yeehah! Got extra special ms to celebrate. Sad could barely finish brushing my teeth this morning.

A question - thoughts on dying hair at this stage? My roots really need doing - I have so much grey is getting embarrassing. I keep getting the fear and holding off but we've got loads of social stuff coming up and Mr b keeps looking at my head like this Hmm. Are you guys doing dying?

Leela5 · 05/12/2014 08:15

To add insult to injury I was just gearing up to get out of bed when he turned over and clocked me one on the head with his elbow. Twat!

Ooooh I'm going to make his life misery today, the fucker. I've got training then a report to write then a pal coming for dinner. The house reeks of alcohol.

I'll make him clean the house today.

bother I think the products they use nowadays are considered relatively safe, but check with hairdresser or on packaging if you do it yourself.

Leela5 · 05/12/2014 08:17

Lauren I've posted on the tack room board and I would really appreciate your opinion as I know you've been there. If you have any time do you think you could take a look please?

laurenamium · 05/12/2014 08:36

Off to tack room now la Smile

RPopz · 05/12/2014 08:43

I've kept dying all the way through bother - I don't think it's an issue these days x

couldbeanyone · 05/12/2014 09:10

Hi la - also posted in tack room for you Smile

wilmabedrock · 05/12/2014 09:55

I also dye my hair. It would be really really grey if I didn't and tbh I'm not actually sure what problems it would cause. I don't use bleach though if that's relevant as my hair is dark.

BothersomeB · 05/12/2014 10:17

I think hair dye is one of those 'we don't think it does any damage but we're not sure so you might want to avoid it' things...am booking myself in - thanks for the advice/re-assurance viroids! Smile

ChatEnOeuf · 05/12/2014 10:21

Yay for milestones! I've reached 11+3 and getting a bit twitchy about scan next week. Apparently, it's now a fig.

I'm told hair dying is ok now, but I'd always check first.

Wil, MrChat is a Very Sensible Accountant - no night shifts in his world. He does European finance management if you know what that is can you tell me?. I'm having lots of French lessons, GCSEs seem like a long time ago. Which they were, but this really rams it home Grin

ZylaB · 05/12/2014 10:38

chat you sound like me... DH does financial compliance and I'm not really much further along than knowing it means he makes sure his company sticks to the fca rules and reads a lot of small print!!! Grin

wilmabedrock · 05/12/2014 11:00

I should work in finance I shouldn't, I'm rubbish with money. I'd get to sit in an office all day and be really antisocial.

ChatEnOeuf · 05/12/2014 11:13

Zyla DH does stuff with excel. When asked what he did in his old job (market finance manager), I replied that he decided when things went on special offer. Apparently this is not the case Grin

TheBooMonster · 05/12/2014 11:26

min hope you get the desired result with your presentation scan, at least with a section you'd have a definite date.

bother I seem to recall the NHS website says avoid dying in the first 12 weeks other than that make sure you have ventilation don't dye your hair in a cardboard box I dyed mine the day before my 20 week scan and noticed the colour took way more than I'd been expecting, so that's something to bear in mind when you do come to dye your hair: a strand test may be a good idea >.<

boo to all the DH's who are going out on the piss! DH hasn't been out on the piss since his stag do... He had one instruction (as did everyone else there) "Don't ruin my f*ing wedding photo's" Guess who came in at 3am with broken glasses and a smashed up face having fallen over a damned curb on the tamest stag do known to man... I totally haven't held this as a grudge to use every time I feel the need to win an argument...

I've started obsessively organising everything on the calendar, put the expected dates for all of my midwife appointments in, and the scan dates, and then I've split all the baby jobs (and shopping lists) up so that I have something to do every week from the end of January, however this does mean that DH has only 7 weeks to board the loft and clear the spare room so it can be baby HQ, and to finish reading game of thrones before his fiction is confiscated and replaced with labour and hypnobirthing books...

freshstart4us · 05/12/2014 11:35

wilma yes the car would most definitely have been broken into in Oz! Well, in Perth where I am from anyway lauren. It might be sunny and friendly but don't forget Australia was founded by boatloads of thieves and cutthroats. Xmas Wink But as it turns out, Perth was known (when I was there anyway) as the car theft capital of the country which probably doesn't help.

la your DH should be grateful he still has his balls attached! Fortunately when MrFresh has 6 too many he needs to pee, a LOT, so will sleep downstairs on the couch to be closer to the loo! Amazing news on 8 week milestone too, btw. Brew and Xmas Biscuit for you.

bother I am erring on the side of caution, which is "after 12 weeks" apparently for hair dyeing. If you do get it done beforehand and are feeling cautious, just ask your hairdresser to not go right to the scalp, as that is really the only contact that could introduce any chemicals into your bloodstream.

teejayem · 05/12/2014 11:59

hoorah for all the milestones! I was 14 weeks yesterday.

I had a pack of 'Maternity essentials' delivered from New Look, including a bump band which I'm wearing with an undone pair of jeans I could barely do up before I got upduffed and they look alright!!! It's quite liberating prancing about the office in undone jeans! (we have dress down on Friday)
We put up some outside xmas lights up last weekend - the first house in our road to do so smug bitch although they aren't as bright as I thought they would be. Came home last night and have been subsequently outdone massively by our neighbours, who have lights so bright they drown ours out, so I have just ordered another four sets of lights to try and compensate I'm not competitive, no no, not me

Happy Friday everyone!

Pisghetti · 05/12/2014 12:14

What do baby hiccups feel like? I don't remember having them with DS but occasionally I've noticed a fairly rhythmic motion like baby is startled and jumps about four or five times over a minute or so. Is that hiccups?

This hair dye discussion looks strange when skim reading! I dye mine but had a disaster recently when dark brown turned out to be black Hmm so now my grey roots are very Cruella-esque! I'm also of Celtic colouring and avoid the sun as much as possible. Definitely think there's some merit in the anti ageing benefits! Got ID'd yesterday. Normally I don't mind but it wasn't even my booze sob

My friend, due in a fortnight, has now agreed with her hubby that he won't drink when he's out in case he needs to get home at short notice. I hadn't even thought of that.

AIBU for the viroids - I'm planning on taking DS to a rugby international a week before my due date. The tickets are a present for him from my dad for his birthday. My dad did ask if I wanted him to do it this year because it was so close to my due date but I said yes - I don't want DS to miss out (he loves it), I have no reason to believe I might go early and IF I can't go there'll be no shortage of volunteers to take him anyway. DS's dad heard about the plan and thinks I am wrong for even considering it and shouldn't go in case 'something happens'. 'Something' hasn't been specified but I'd hazard a guess at waters going, spontaneously delivering baby thus distracting fans from a great try.... I'm normally not bothered by what he thinks (and I think he's trying to persuade DS of the merits of going with him instead of me) but it has planted a seed of doubt in my mind... Is it a bad idea? We'd be about an hour's drive from the hospital I plan to give birth in, and about ten minutes in an ambulance to the nearest hospital should baby decide to make a swift exit and like I said I have no reason to think she would....?

laurenamium · 05/12/2014 12:16

Grin At the lights competition tee!

Ah fresh my auntie used to live in Perth so that was our base for branching out for a lot of years. She's just moved to the other side now though so new exploring to be done when we go next Grin monkey Mia is my favourite place so far!

BothersomeB · 05/12/2014 12:28

Hair - booked for 12+1!

ZylaB · 05/12/2014 13:02

pis sounds like hiccups!

Also, regarding the rugby, go, just take your notes, you can't put everything on hold 'just in case' and like you say IF you've had the baby or something has happened, someone else can take him :)

ZylaB · 05/12/2014 13:03

I'm going to the rugby on Sunday! Not international standard though :)

freshstart4us · 05/12/2014 13:10

lauren I'm guessing you swam with the dolphins to be that impressed by, quite literally, the middle of nowhere? Xmas Wink WA has some great spots, and some great wine, but it just felt so bloody far from civilisation! Ironically, British MrFresh is very keen for us to relocate back there in the next year or two. I am ambivalent - I emigrated here because I actually love living in London, and for me it was a permanent move - but think it will happen eventually, he is such a grumpy bugger all winter! We are going for 3 weeks in February to check out practicalities such as schools, houses, universities for DSS, etc. Will see after that.

pis definitely sounds like hiccups! And re the rugby, I think you can only make that call yourself, close to the time. As you say, there will be no shortage of volunteers to take DS if you should opt out, so there really is no risk in you planning on going, but changing those plans even the day before is there?

laurenamium · 05/12/2014 13:41

No fresh we weren't allowed as they had babies with them Grin it was my first experience of dolphins though, so nice to see them in their own habitat! I just loved it there, gorgeous beach and we went when it wasn't Australia's tourist season so it was empty Grin

I'm having THE BEST DAY EVER. After arguing with DP over pushchairs (I wanted want I want, new. He wants whatever he can get for under £100 Hmm) I bought myself and baby the quinny buzz newer one, carry cot and car seat. Managed to get it for £445 which is a bargain. I then get the post and I've got a £403 council tax refund GrinGrin so that's the pushchair bought for £40 (or it feels like it). I might tell DP it was full price and let his head explode for being an arse Grin
