2preteens silly midwife! But you can feel movement at 16 weeks?? Wow, I can't wait. I know it's your third pregnancy but I hope I'm going to feel it soon. I was reading DS's baby book today and I wrote that I first felt movement with him at 19wks. Does it get earlier with each pregnancy?

I also have a unicornate uterus so basically half a womb so you would think I would feel it earlier with less room for baby to move around. I've been feeling some really sharp pains off and on today but I think it's just things stretching.

jazzyjenbo · 18/11/2014 19:59

Why have they brought it forward 2? I also had to hav it both previous pregnancies, its not to bad tbh, just take sum lunch with you for afterwards! I almost fainted the first time due to hunger!

LinaDee · 18/11/2014 20:05

Scottish - just wondered what hospital you will be going to to have your baby? I'm near glasgow - royal Alexandra will be my hospital x

Scottishgal78 · 18/11/2014 22:03

Hi Lina-I'm SGH although may be moving soon so might end up RAH! Ooh someone nearby! I thought I was out in the wilderness from everyone else!

2preteendramaqueens · 18/11/2014 22:26

I think they say you feel each baby move earlier the more you have as you know what it feels like
My test has been brought forward as Iv had bad dry mouth and extremely tied and my 2dd was a big baby and my mum had gestational with my db so they want me tested now

Gingerbreadlady1 · 18/11/2014 23:09

Hi everyone- de-lurking to say I'll be having mine at rah scottish. We also had fertility investigations/treatment there & it's a great wee hospital.

Justyouwaitandsee · 19/11/2014 03:52

Hey everyone! I am now 17wks+1, for two nights in a row I have been woken by what I am sure is baby moving at exactly 3.20am. I have read this is a common time but seems funny to be so precise?!

LinaDee · 19/11/2014 06:45

SGH is technically an option for me but RAH is much closer so I'll be sticking with it!!
Gingerbread - I had my dd there in 2012 and it's where I was looked after when I has my MMC in June. Always found it to be great.
Only thing is, that big hill up to it! Confused

d0ttyne11 · 19/11/2014 08:25

Morning everyone.

I'll add myself to the spreadsheet next time I'm on proper mumsnet site (trying to ration my daily dosage to just the commute at the mo as I'm on here far too much!!) but I'm so glad to have found this little group of May mummies to be!!

I'm 15 + 3 now with our first baby. Some symptoms have def improved over last 10 days (at last the boobs are less sensitive!) still tired in the evening so sleeping well until I wake around 4:20 every morning desperate go to the loo and I just can't get back to sleep!! Has anyone cracked this!? (wishful thinking I know) but I'm starting to wonder if it would be better to try drinking less in the evening, hold off going last thing at night (so at least I'd wake earlier - around 12 / 1am?) sorry if tmi - it's beginning to get annoying but maybe I should be grateful I'm only up once...

Of course I know it's a way of my body saying get ready for what's to come!!!! Grin

KittyVonCatsington · 19/11/2014 11:30

Sounds like an interesting appointment there 2preteen! I have mine in a few hours...

Just funny you should say that, as it is about half 3/4 in the morning when I have been getting my "popping" sensations Grin

Haven't cracked the passing out in the evening and waking up 3/4am desperate for a wee (so much it sometimes hurts my tummy muscles!) d0t but it has become my 'constant', with or without drinking something in the evening - I'd freak out that something was wrong if it went away! [smle]

Purpleshoes2 · 19/11/2014 11:38

Hi,

We've been in a bit of a whirlwind so I thought I would get some extra support because it's caused all of us a bit of a suprise (although a very nice one!)

I'm exactly 14 weeks today according to the midwife/scans - however this is impossible but never mind.

Me and my husband have had an awful year, we had a mortgage fall through, 3 rounds of ivf (we choose to stop because it was horrendous we did have 2 more paid for cycles) and I was extremely I'll. I had brain surgery in Feb and the pressure split us up the night before the surgery! We got back together in August and found out the news at almost 11 weeks (we'd previously been told we would never had kids naturally)

Very very excited very nervous because of how close it is to the brain surgery and already some of the symptoms from before the surgery have come back. Unfortunately I haven't a choice in the birth because I have to have a C section under general anethaetic at aprox 38 weeks.

We saw the baby for the first time last week, pictures attached. It's a proper wriggler doing upside down handstands and with my inverted uterus they weren't able to get all the measurements, they did say it's not clear pictures but I can see it , and in one it looks like it's waving.

Purple Welcome! Wow, what a tremendous story and what a year you've had! Huge congratulations!! I love your waving picture Smile Wishing you an easy pregnancy after all you've been through. It's funny how the world works sometimes, isn't it?

Purpleshoes2 · 19/11/2014 11:57

definetly and everyone (except his mum) is really happy for us, we first met at 13 and married at 19. (Only 25 now!)

Got another midwife appointment for bloods and things, I'm supposed to see the anethaetist at some point as well because I reacted badly to the general they have me in Feb and ended up with Chemical menigitas which is a big concern of mine!

Mslad · 19/11/2014 12:25

I'm sorry his mum isn't happy for you. I can't imagine why not after all you've been through, but perhaps she'll come round when she gets used to it?

I can imagine it must be worrying about your reaction to the general. I always try to remember that you're in the hands of medical experts, and when they are aware of possible problems in advance, they can do wonderful things.

KittyVonCatsington · 19/11/2014 15:26

Hi and a big welcome purple! Agree with Mslad, what a journey you have been through and what a wonderful outcome. The doctors and midwives will take care of you and baby purple and in the meantime, enjoy your scan photos!

I heard Kitlet's heartbeat today-cloud 9 isn't high enough for how I feel right now Grin

bradders85 · 19/11/2014 15:53

Welcome purple, lovely scan pictures. Welcome also to the other newbies. Kitty I heard baby heartbeat today too! Grin All was well at my appointment, next midwife appointment now on Christmas Eve! 17 weeks tomorrow and already on countdown to next scan!

KittyVonCatsington · 19/11/2014 16:51

Christmas Eve! What a lovely Christmas present Grin I have a New Years appointment Hee Hee!

After what 2preteen went through, I thought it might be stressful but as soon as the Doppler hit my tummy, the heartbeat was loud and clear!

bradders85 · 19/11/2014 16:53

yes i wondered too but she found it straight away nice and clear, sounded like a train to me! haha!

mumxof3x · 19/11/2014 18:34

SmileyScooby · 19/11/2014 19:49

Welcome purple! What lovely news after all you've been through.
Also pleased to read good news re results and midwife appointments! Can't wait for my 16w appointment next week Smile

Quick question: anyone else got sore/sensitive teeth at the moment?
I keep meaning to make dentist appointment but my dentist isn't nhs so need to find out if they do a discount thing for preggo women else will need to try and find an nhs one nearby but dunno if there are any with spaces etc.

Kyz · 19/11/2014 20:14

Evening everyone :)

aww lovely that you heard the heartbeat 2pre I love listening to the heartbeat, I find it so relaxing and soothing!

glad your test results were good lowest

hi and welcome purple what a fab story and lovely pictures!

I've had curry cravings all week so far, and have to have it for at least one of my meals, I'm enjoying spices atm!

kittiker · 19/11/2014 20:48

Oh, I'll likely be at the RAH too! It's nice there's a little cluster of us.

I haven't made up my mind yet though as it's complicated by where I live. We're in the Highlands and, believe it or not, RAH is our closest maternity hospital. I can go to the local MLU which is only 5 minutes from my house but I'm nervous of complications. RAH is 2 1/2 hours away and yep, you have to make your own way there when labour hits. It's a difficult decision that I'm happy to put off for a while yet!

LinaDee · 19/11/2014 22:36

Wow kit! It's unreal that you have to travel that far, not only on the way there but back home with a new born!! Hmm
I didn't realise there were so many of us around this area!!

WigglyWigglyWoo · 20/11/2014 06:56

Morning ladies!

I had my 16 week midwife appointment yesterday and heard the heat beat! It was a wonderful sound. Took the student a while to pick it up as she kept detecting mine instead- I have a naturally fast pulse that was confusing the poor girl!
Bloods were all normal and the midwife was happy Smile

Looking forward to getting a bump and feeling movements now!

Good luck to any ladies with appointments today x

piglet81 · 20/11/2014 12:09

Lovely to hear about the 16-week appointments. Mine is on Monday - I really hope I get to hear the heartbeat...must be amazing! I've got a bit of a bump now (there even when I suck in my stomach, so not just flab!), which is exciting.
