Well went to Physio today and they've put me on crutches! That was not expected. My right pelvis has dropped - they tried to manipulate it back in but didn't want to go, tried a support belt but it made it worse.

Although been told it's quite common in pregnancy's they'll give it a week and try again

2preteendramaqueens · 20/11/2014 15:45

Kyz i had to have curry sauce and chips last night and I don't do curry of any sort and I could do with some more but I put a chicken in the slow cooker this morning to make a roast tonight with lots of veg Grin
I had my gtt today and I think all is good as my resting blood sugar is 3.7 which Is fine iv read and the test wasn't to bad

Mslad · 20/11/2014 18:28

Hi gang, my harmony test came back clear today Smile Smile Smile. I didn't get revised odds, just told I was clear for the three syndromes. Phew! Now I can get back to just general pregnancy worries!

Hope everyone is well this evening. Curry craving is nothing new for me, but the last one i had, at 7 weeks, made me sick instantly, but due to the curry chat here, I may go wild and risk on this weekend Smile

Snooky17 · 20/11/2014 18:45

Mslad so pleased for you ! It's been 2 weeks tomorrow since I had my NT scan and bloods taken I'm guessing/hoping since not had a call I'm low risk but since im 40 eek I wonder just how low, I'm virtually attacking the postman each day lol.
Purple ouch but worried as my hips have started hurting and my pelvic bone hurts to press, will mention it at next midwife app I guess.

KittyVonCatsington · 20/11/2014 18:57

Brilliant news MsLad you cane breathe a sigh of relief for now!

Snooky -Yes-they would have called you within days if there are any issues and it can take a few weeks for the "non-urgent" admin letter to get to you.

Thinking of you and your crutches Purple!

Anyone hearing their baby's heartbeat at their 16 week appointment, take note of the beats per minute. Another gender "myth" I was told today was it is a boy of the bpm is under 130 and a girl if it is over 130 (although bad luck if it is hovering around 130 as it's hard to guess then!)

Mine was 150... anyone else's?!

justjodie92 · 20/11/2014 19:28

Hi everyone

Hope everyone is okay.

Kitty, the heartbeat for my little avocado was 149bmp. I'm convinced it's a boy though!

Turquoisetamborine · 20/11/2014 19:49

Mslad* so pleased for you that you got the all clear. I know how worrying it is.

Snooky I hope you hear good news soon.

Purple, that's not good. Is this your first pregnancy or did you have this in your last one? That must be really hard work.

I'm off to london for the weekend so I'm packing and getting sorted. Going to buy the baby a Harrod's Xmas decoration to keep and one for son too.

Kitty, my baby's heartbeat was 156bpm and as you know he's a boy.

bradders85 · 20/11/2014 19:55

kitty mine was 143bpm

KittyVonCatsington · 20/11/2014 20:08

Hee Hee! Gotta love those gender myths Wink

Enjoy your trip Turquoise - Harrods is sooo nice!

Purpleshoes2 · 20/11/2014 20:19

It's so nice to read about everyone's experiences - I don't know anyone else whose pregnant. I wouldn't dare guess the sex but we did receive out 20 week scan date (New Years eve!)

Turquoise first preganancy, hopefully the crutches will be only for a week if they can manipulate it back into place on Thursday. Have fun at Harrods!

Kyz · 20/11/2014 20:49

evening all :)

today has been a busy day! Glad i'm at the end of it!

glad your 16 week appt went well wiggly :)

2pre I had chips and curry sauce today too cos I didn't have time to make tea but the indian takeaway wasn't open and it was the closest thing I could get!

that's fab news mslad

I love some of the gender myths, some of them are brilliant and quite funny!

ooh enjoy your trip turquoise!

Sunshinesaz86 · 20/11/2014 21:44

Hi ladies. Welcome everyone just joined.

I'm enjoying the gender myths too, my 16 week app is next wed.

I have now without realising referred to bean as 'she' to Dp and to a friend today! I have no idea why as I have no preference at all nor will I try guess, it's like a sub concious thing!.,,.......has anyone else ever done the same or doing it currently? I just find it weird? Confused

SmileyScooby · 20/11/2014 21:51

OMG got the maternity pack today and I'll all confused...fellow teachers...when are you planning to start mat leave and also am guessing over the 'half terms' and 'holidays' we just get the mat pay not normal pay? Which totally sucks as!!

KittyVonCatsington · 20/11/2014 22:00

Yep Smiley -we don't get to acrue holidays as we don't get paid for them. Something to be said for a September baby!

I've provisionally said my maternity leave will start 18th April- 3 weeks before EDD BUT am lucky as it's Easter holidays two weeks prior to that Smile

We'll just have to suck it up over the summer holidays with the SMP and maternity half pay baby cuddles are a bloody good consolation!

SmileyScooby · 20/11/2014 22:10

Thanks for that Kitty, think am gonna have to start super saving then...so have got money to buy baby stuff and also to cover bills, mortgage etc whilst on the lower pay...
How are you working out a weeks pay? Are you just dividing month pay by 4? And is it a weeks pay before tax etc or after tax? I'm no good at this stuff, this is why hubby does most of the money stuff!!

SmileyScooby · 20/11/2014 22:11

Oh and I was also thinking to have mat leave starting first Monday back from Easter hols so get two weeks added :)

KittyVonCatsington · 21/11/2014 06:42

Smiley -I'll get my Maternity Pack from school and post back this afternoon.it does take a while to get round the SMP, AML and OML!

Mslad · 21/11/2014 08:47

Happy Friday everyone! Thanks for all the good wishes. It feels odd not to have something so big hanging over me.

Have most people got their appetite back around 14 weeks? I was starving going to bed last night, even after a big dinner. I can't remember the last time I felt hungy.

d0ttyne11 · 21/11/2014 09:08

Lovely hearing of all these scans around Christmas and Hogmanay. What a perfect end to the year for you new mummies. Ours is 9th January and so looking forward to another glimpse of what's going on inside my tum!!!

longestlurkerever · 21/11/2014 11:42

Glad you got good results mslad. Must be a weight off your mind.

My scan is not till 17 Jan but hopefully it'll cheer up a gloomy time of year.

Not really sure about mat leave - last time I left 4 weeks before my edd but that was mostly because the house was still a building site and I had so much to do. This time I might try and work a bit longer but I do have a cushy office job. Not sure I'd fancy being on my feet right before the birth like you teachers. I think my edd is in half term which means dd is likely to be under my feet when the baby comes. Will need to call in a few favours!

One of the women from the pregnancy after miscarriage thread just gave birth to her dd in a taxi! They're both fine but it's not my birth plan I have to admit!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 21/11/2014 11:49

Wow, so a strong scottish contingent with of us poss in the same hospital. We could be there at the same time. lina the hill is a killer. I recommend being dropped off by dp while he goes off to find a space Wink.

kittiker 2.5hrs!!! That's a bit scary!

mslad, massive congratulations. Can't imagine the relief.

My 20 week is new yrs eve.

Snooky17 · 21/11/2014 12:10

All of this lovely Scottishness is really making me fancy some shortbread dunked in my tea, wonders if I have some already in my Xmas stash lol, my 20 week scan is on 30th dec my sons birthday, have consultant app too I'm guessing it's my scan just says midwife app, do we need full bladders for 20 week?

Snooky17 · 21/11/2014 13:07

My letter came woo ! Low risk phew doesn't say numbers or anything and resisting the temptation to phone and ask for the numbers

Turquoisetamborine · 21/11/2014 13:16

Snooky so glad yours came back clear too.

I'll be finishing for maternity leave on 27th March. I have three weeks annual leave to take after that so I'll have the Easter hols off then probably another three weeks before baby comes. I get 6 months full pay at work plus my holidays accrue so I'm not working up til the last minute.

Titsalinabumsquash · 21/11/2014 13:36

I had my 16 week apt today, everything hunky dory, well behaved baby with a steady heart beat of 150bpm.
