Thsnks snooky I wondered about getting one but didn't know if it would just freak me out more if I couldn't get it to work. Is yours easy to use? Where did you get it?

bananapuddles · 16/11/2014 11:02

Hi everyone - glad to find you! I am 15+2 with my first baby, due 8th May 2015. Looking forward to sharing my excitement with others in the same boat Smile

LinaDee · 16/11/2014 13:10

Hi everyone,

Sorry if tmi - but what are we allowed to use for thrush again? Need to go buy something over the counter or i willl lose my sanity today - not waiting til doc is open tomorrow.

Please help!!!

KittyVonCatsington · 16/11/2014 13:38

Ooh, Lina - I know this one! You can safely use the cream and pessary but NOT the tablet. This was said to me by A and E Doctor, EPU nurse and Pharmacist obviously had thrush myself! I found just the cream sorted me out.

Hi banana and welcome!!!

Can't help with the Boobs thing as they have hurt continuously since day 1 but am too afraid of a Doppler in case I can't find heartbeat!

KittyVonCatsington · 16/11/2014 13:41

Oops! Pressed send too quickly- meant to press Return!

I was going to say Longest that I've had no aches and pains in the past couple of weeks and due to medication, constipation has really eased off, which is why I am hoping against hope I'm starting to feel Baby Kitlet...just to reassure me Baby's okay Grin

Snooky17 · 16/11/2014 16:10

Welcome Banana

plinkyplonks · 16/11/2014 17:19

Dopplers are awesome :D Just remember to watch YouTube videos as to how to find HB - baby is still quite low down (below stomach) so its usually just a matter of searching for the hb in the right place :) My first attempt would have been an epic failure otherwise - i was looking far too high :D

longestlurkerever · 16/11/2014 17:54

Thanks everyone! Put a low bid in on one on ebay and won it! So hopefully I will be able to use it and it doesn't drive me to madness! Not feeling quite so great now anyway so that's reassuring in itself. Really need to find a way to calm down. Roll on movements!

inthewoods4 · 16/11/2014 19:01

Hi everyone, I'm new on this thread and am 15 weeks pregnant. In the past I've suffered pnd and recently some anxiety. I've been fine up until this weekend but I woke up feeling very nervous and on edge today and now I'm really tearful. Has anyone else had anything similar? Xx

KittyVonCatsington · 16/11/2014 19:30

Tori Lactulose is my friend! Fybogel did nothing as it's not fibre that is the problem but Progesterone. You can get it free on prescription or it's about 6 pounds.
I'm on something else to help with the colon pain but that is secondary-the Lactulose is a god send and doesn't aggravate nausea. Xxx

Hi and welcome inthewoods! Anxiety is extremely common and quite frightening during pregnancy and I am sorry you are having some bad days. We're here to help you through it!

I did that with my form Tori - Pharmacist said that by the time they get to claiming, the form would have been processed anyway. As prescription charge is now 8 pound something and the Lactulose was 6 pound something, they took pity on me Grin

SmileyScooby · 16/11/2014 20:01

Longest I'm 15w and my symptoms have pretty much gone, boobs not sore or super sensitive now, apart from gas and constipation occasionally. Although I bent over tonight to pick some stuff up and have been feeling icky ever since only just managed to eat my tea.

waitandsee I too been having problems with appetite, during day (especially when at work) am so hungry all the time, then have lunch (main cooked meal when at work) and am then bloated until about 8pm and then am feeling really hungry but only have a couple of biscuits as feel too late for sandwich etc. sometimes when I've had my food I have a icky feeling in back of throat.

I've got a real hankering for sweets at the mo, really fancy some marshmallows but the flump type hehe

Am finding that I am not really sleeping on my left as isnt that the side we are supposed to lie on? I prefer the right or my back hehe but am trying, any tips?

Am also wondering when I may get a bump as I was already carrying some extra padding around the middle/feel things? (2 tyres I used to call it - one below belly button (annoying pouch of fat that no gyming seemed to shift!!)and one above but when I try and hold tummy in nothing goes in so I must be really bloated or something...and the two tyres as starting to merge at times!!) was a large 18 in trousers and 16/18 in tops (depending one where shop as got large thighs and upper arms but thinner waist ignoring the fat pouch haha) and at the mo have gone back to size 20 trousers for work as more comfortable across belly.

Sorry I've rambled a bit, really wish it wasn't Monday tomorrow don't fancy work! :)

inthewoods4 · 16/11/2014 20:03

Thank you kitty, I'm trying to put it down to hormones, I'm just quite worried that I'll spend the rest of my pregnancy feeling awful when I really want to enjoy it. Hopefully I've just had an off day! Xx

Titsalinabumsquash · 16/11/2014 20:04

Does anyone know if the community midwife can get me a prescription for Gaviscon?

I'm in heart burn territory and it costs a bomb to keep stocking up. Blush

I can't eat cheese anymore, even though it's my favourite food ever, just thinking about it gives me a dull, acidy headache. Sad

Yes I think so tits. They can give you a mahoosive bottle. Welcome inthewoods.Sorry you feel anxious. Did you have access to help last time? I would say contact them soon. Don't wait for your symptoms to get worse. Welcome to banana as well.

Fluffeh · 16/11/2014 20:31

I'm not sure tits but I'm joining your heartburn club :(.
I stupidly ate lasagne and garlic bread for tea and its evil, evil heart burn attacking me now. I've drank around a pint of milk but it's getting no better boo!

longestlurkerever · 16/11/2014 21:17

Ps sorry, just realised you said midwives. Think it might have to be gp for prescriptions.

aberjen · 16/11/2014 22:11

tits If midwife can't prescribe, could you try getting a phone appointment with your GP to get prescription? That's what my surgery does.

tori if pharmacy won't let you have free prescription with just the form, ask for a prescription receipt and send your form in pronto - the exemption certificate gets backdated to 1 month before the exemption ppl receive your form, so you can then go in with your certificate later and get a refund (I did this for my anti-nausea meds)

So exciting that some people are starting to feel movement! I was more than 20 weeks last time and have anterior placenta again this time so not holding my breath (but also hopefully will be freaking out less about lack of movement).

aberjen · 16/11/2014 22:16

inthewoods I had a lot of anxiety (and consequently therapy) after DD was born and so my midwife/GP are helping keep an eye on my moods at my regular appointments and v much encouraging me to talk to them if I'm feeling at all anxious or depressed - so maybe have a chat with yours?

Titsalinabumsquash · 17/11/2014 06:49

I'm bored of being sick now, 5am is for sleeping!

My DS1 has just given me the biggest sigh before asking me why I don't just eat food the baby likes because clearly he/she doesn't like the food I'm eating atm.
Thanks for that gem DS, why didn't I think of it before? Grin

My poor dd2 has now got the d&v bug Hmm and we have been up since 4 cleaning it up I think I did pretty well and was not sick myself Grin but now iv got to keep her off school for 2 days and I have mw tomorrow so she will have to come with me

inthewoods4 · 17/11/2014 09:46

Thanks all, I am already on antid's as my midwife advised me to stay on them. I'm feeling a bit better being at work today - I've just started to get really worried about the new baby - ie how can I love another baby as much as my DD, how will it affect her, will I get PND again - the list goes on!
Sorry for the downbeat post - hopefully I'll get excited again soon xxx
