Great news about your 16wk appointment, justyouwait :)

LouMum14 · 12/11/2014 14:10

Hi everyone, new to this thread, scan was yesterday EDD 14th May too Jenni and going for 2nd c section as well. Smile

Mslad · 12/11/2014 14:20

Thanks for the support guys, my boss seemed to take it well, but then what could he say?

It's hard Scottish, I'm sure your colleague will be upset, but at the same time you do need to tell people. Perhaps telling her privately, or sending her an email saying that you know she may find your news upsetting, and you understand that, which gives her a chance to read it by herself and be a bit upset privately before she sees you?

Scottishgal78 · 12/11/2014 14:24

Yeah I was thinking I'll take her aside and tell her separately. Don't want to announce it in a meeting and its just toouch for her. Terrible timing.

Justyouwaitandsee · 12/11/2014 14:44

That sounds like a good plan Scottish. It is going to be hard for her but all you can do is tell her as gently as you can and then maybe give her a bit of space. Are you close enough to speak with her directly? Or could another colleague or manager break the news instead? (Not saying this is right - just different approaches might work for different people). Best of luck with it x

CockBollocks · 12/11/2014 15:30

I have disappeared off the stats Sad

jazzyjenbo · 12/11/2014 16:11

You can update from your pc cock or if u add then onto here i'll get them onto stats asap x

FeelingBlessed77 · 12/11/2014 17:31

Good luck speedbird. thinking of you.

KittyVonCatsington · 12/11/2014 17:52

In the last thread Cock we set up a stats page/link that people could add to themselves as it was too upsetting for the ladies who were suffering losses at that time, rather than just automatically add everyone who joined. Feel free to add yourself - the link is on page 1 of this thread Smile

You are in my prayers speedbird

Glad you had a good appointment just! My 16 week appointment is next Wednesday-same as you Wiggly!!

Scottish As someone who had 6 colleagues get pregnant at the same time as me, back in February but I suffered a loss, it was hard hearing their news. To be honest though, it was not their fault, but my issue to deal with and I would have felt even worse if I thought I was "spoiling" their own pregnancy and joy. I am sure you will tactful but please don't feel guilty. She will get her little bundle of joy xx

Glad scan went well Lou!

jazzyjenbo · 12/11/2014 17:59

Cock, i've added you a spot on the list, just add the info onto here and i'll add it on, i'll share the link weekly i think so ppl can update.

Scottishgal78 · 12/11/2014 18:53

Thanks for the posts. It's good to hear from people who have been in her position.

bradders85 · 12/11/2014 21:18

Kitty and wiggly I have my 16 week appointment next Wednesday too! 16 weeks tomorrow and still feeling good, I do have a definate bump though - already in maternity work trousers as my normal ones won't zip up!!

2preteendramaqueens · 12/11/2014 21:22

Iv got my 16 week app next tue but I'm only 15 weeks tomorrow do you think it will matter much or shall I make another
I'm in mat trousers starting from today as I could no longer squeeze into my work trousers I'm very big but I don't think my muscles came back from having my last they separated when I had dd

Kyz · 12/11/2014 22:47

Hi all :)

thanks for adding me to the stats jazzy my scan is 17th yes :) my edd was 31st may by what the mw said but then the reassurance scan put me at about the 25th so will have to see where i am on Monday :)

Wow 16 week appointments, mine is on 10th Dec (my brothers birthday) so a while away yet!

will be thinking of you speed

longestlurkerever · 12/11/2014 23:09

Thinking of you speed. It'll be fine 2. Have been out shopping for a bridesmaid dress this evening. Bit of a disaster. None were very bump friendly, though it still feels jinxy to talk about a future bump like that. Any ideas where I could get nice maternity formal dresses? Jojo and mamas and papas were mostly casual ones.

plinkyplonks · 12/11/2014 23:13

Good luck speed x

aberjen · 13/11/2014 04:18

longest Have you tried eBay? I was a wedding guest at 36 weeks last time and found a lovely dressy dress on eBay. And that sort of thing gets so little wear that it will be practically new. Brand was Pumpkin Patch.

So exciting seeing all the scan and heartbeat news!

aberjen · 13/11/2014 04:20

Also, Isabella Oliver do v nice-looking things although haven't got/seen any irl

KittyVonCatsington · 13/11/2014 06:46

Longest I had two pregnant bridesmaids when I got married and I bought Dessy dresses (you buy them from bridal boutiques) they were £110 each back in 2010. They were layered in chiffon and very forgiving!

You will be nearly 16 weeks and that should be fine 2preteen!

Loving my work maternity trousers too-so comfy it's bliss! My bump seems to be a bit bigger at night than it is in the morning though! Hmm

mumxof3x · 13/11/2014 08:23

2preteen...i will only be 15+2 on mine but they like to do it between 15 and 16wks at my midwifes for some reason so you will be fine. X

baby5ontheway · 13/11/2014 15:42

Sending positive thoughts to you speed.
I
My dizziness was down to iron levels :/ always the bloody case with me. 15 weeks now and have a bit of a bump when I lift up my fat, haha , put on a buit of weight in 1st tri due to eaing was the only thing that kept the nausea under control, so 3 months of constant eating has not been kind to me :(

Here's to the next trimester, feeling a little better and feeling those first movements x

Titsalinabumsquash · 13/11/2014 15:57

My weight gain has halted for now, I gained 8lbs within a few weeks of finding out I was pregnant but now it's only 6lb and isn't mounting up by the day luckily.
I'll be nearly 17 weeks by the time I have my 16 week apt but they didn't have any slots for this week so it's tough!
