I found out at my 16 week gender scan both times.

BeanCalledPickle · 17/12/2014 20:21

Manduca gets a big vote from me. Bloody love it. Climbed several mountains using it. Stretchy wraps are not ideal in the summer. Being wrapped in a load of fabric is not what you want!

Kyz · 17/12/2014 20:44

Evening all :)

Private gender scan tomorrow, excited and nervous all at once

lina I have to take one to every appt, including scans - I think it depends where you are

fluffeh I would've said a vest/romper suit in the very warm weather - as long as they are properly shaded from the sun :)

Thanks for the epic sling post three that has given me lots to think about :) I'll have a look into sling libraries/meets and see if I can find any - I quite like the look of the ergo with the newborn insert, but would like to give some kind of wrap a go also and i'm thinking a woven would be good with the weather we might end up with :) I'm short and my back couldn't cope with DS once i'd gotten round to looking into a carrier for him, but he was about 11kg at that point and I think it was just a bit too much without any kind of build up iyswim!

I think I am FINALLY feeling some movement at 16+6 - only the last few days though, I really sympathise with those of you who have anterior placenta's as not feeling anything and feeling fine in myself has been driving me crackers! I'm sure all is fine for you all, though :) Even though i'm 99.9% sure i've felt baby now i am still nervous about the scan tomorrow so I know it's easier said than done to not worry!

TwinkleTee · 17/12/2014 21:06

Evening all. I've been a long time lurker, but thought it was time to say hi!
EDD is 24th May with our first DC. I'll add myself to the stats list in a sec.
I've been finding this thread super helpful and reassuring and wanted to say "thanks" Xmas Smile

Chookford · 17/12/2014 21:32

kyz good luck tomorrow, do you have any inklings?

twinkle congrats and welcome.. I'm due 24th too Smile

d0ttyne11 · 17/12/2014 23:25

Really appreciate the detailed post on the slings. Sounds like finding the local library is most helpful and economic thing to do given the range on the market so thanks for the advice.

I feel like I'm the only person having a scan in January. There are so many other lucky ladies getting seen before Christmas. That'll be lovely for you all. It's 9th January for me - ages away!

Another sober night out for me this evening and it really is different at this time of year without a mulled wine, glass of fizz or wee something. Getting these late trains home with Christmas party goers is so different! Have another night out tomorrow (a leaving do for a good friend at work) and again everyone else will be drinking. Oh well - at least I'll wake up with a clear head [a few short hours after my nocturnal loo trip] Xmas Wink

leanne963 · 17/12/2014 23:58

Heya ladies :) just wondering if it affects the baby of you get really hungry. I'm doing work experience at a busy tv station and today when I did a 9.30 am start I asked at around 2.30 if I could have some lunch as I started at 9.30 and a lady turned around and was like 'well I started at 4.30am' so didn't end up eating til gone 3 and that was the first thing I ate all day :( I'm worried what not eating for long periods of time can do to the baby?! Is it just me that suffering from a rumbley tummy or is the baby suffering too?!

That's awful leanne I would be feeling faint not eating by 3 when I wasn't pregnant, now I'm usually hinting food down by 11.00 otherwise my stomachs screaming at me. Do they know your PG? Can u take little snacks with you like a breakfast bar to eat quick that'll keep u going?

D0tt it is a long wait but sure it'll come round soon enough, I'm 29th dec so not quite jan but imagine how u feel when u just want reassurance and sight of bean again.

cuphat · 18/12/2014 07:57

Mine is supposed to be 9th Jan but I'm going to have to try and change it as DH can't make it now. It seems really soon to me but my due date is the 29th May.

Good luck Kyz

mumxof3x · 18/12/2014 08:40

Mines 5th of jan dotty, I just paid for a private scan because there was an offer on at my local private scanning clinic and I just expected them to scan me at 19wks like they did with my others so when it come and it was 2wk later then I thought, I ended up just paying for private :)

Going to try and get rest of my christmas shopping done today, there isnt much left to get now I dont think. Just a few bits for family

Hope everyone has a good day :) no college now for 2 weeks yay

Good luck all with scans today :)
And welcome twinkle

leanne963 · 18/12/2014 09:00

Thanks Tori I was just worried cause I got a feeling it's going to be like that all this week!

sunshine no I haven't told them cause it's never really come up and I feel like if I say I'm pregnant someone will just go 'so what?'

d0ttyne11 · 18/12/2014 09:01

Thanks everyone. My DD is 15th May and 9th Jan had seemed a bit late when comparing to others on here! As you say Sunshine, it will be here soon enough Smile thanks for the v prompt reassurance. Much appreciated.

Poor you Leanne - does sound like some little snacks in your bag would help keep you going!

Take care ladies x

Chookford · 18/12/2014 11:12

Morning ladies

I have to wait until 19th Jan for my scan I will be 22 wks... Seems like ages away!

I have just finished the last of my Xmas wrapping so all done now thank god! Back is aching now though and baby is wiggling away think it's trying to tell me it's uncomfortable!! Now I'm going to lay down for a couple of hours Grin

Turquoisetamborine · 18/12/2014 11:32

Leanne, just tell them you're pregnant and have to eat at regular intervals. Tell them you have blood sugar problems at the best of times.
I would be so moody if someone told me I couldn't eat. My sister in law always says I'm due a feed when I'm not allowed to eat, like a baby!

BeanCalledPickle · 18/12/2014 11:38

Just had twenty week scan. It took three attempts. I had to drink a litre of coke, eat a massive bar of chocolate and do cartwheels in the bloody car park before she would bloody cooperate! Hour and a half! All finally good in the end though.

Sunshinesaz86 · 18/12/2014 11:39

Im 14th May d0ttyne, hopefully Christmas will distract you from the long wait!

Leanne im sure its a horrible feeling that they wont really care, however im sure work experience places should have some sort of risk assesments etc for pregnant woman and if you fainted because of not eating or something similar, then you tell them they may wonder why you didnt tell them in the first place, plus you pregnancy and baby are the most import0ant thing and a pregnant lady needs to eat when baby says so!!! {smile}

Well done on finishing your shooping chook a well earnt rest sounds great!

good luck to all the ladies having their scans today!

Chookford · 18/12/2014 11:53

bean congrats on the good scan.. Even if it was a performance to get little lady to co-operate!!

aberjen · 18/12/2014 12:31

cuphat I was the same last time with no pattern, so frustrating! Placenta was high, so it depended where she'd moved to whether I felt her or not. She may well have wriggled around at the same time each day but if the wriggling was high up then I was pretty oblivious.

piglet With DD I didn't find out location of placenta until 20 week scan, but I knew (from mn Grin) that others had found out sooner, so this time I made a point of asking at 12 week scan. At my hospital they include placenta location in the ultrasound report that goes in your notes at 20 weeks but not at 12 weeks.

Three thanks, will see if I can have a go with both at sling library

Leanne I'm sure baby would be absolutely fine - they tend to take what they need, it's you that suffers the consequences Smile. If it happens again though, I'd be inclined to say that you're pregnant and feel faint/sick if you don't eat regularly (or some such). That woman sounds like a nightmare!

applecore0317 · 18/12/2014 13:56

Hi, Thought I would introduce myself :) have been an occasional lurker on here.

17 weeks yesterday, due May 27th. Have a private scan booked for tomorrow so that My parents could come along and see it, hopefully we will be able to find out the sex too, so excited :) I definitely have a bit of a bump now, it's mine and my husbands first baby, have been getting some feelings of movement this week, which has been lovely

Leanne - are you able to have snacks on you?

Kyz · 18/12/2014 21:37

Evening all :) Just had a sobfest because i dropped half of my curry on the floor. Second curry today and I NEEDED it i tell you!

Pleased to be able to say we are team blue :D Very excited! 17 weeks today! I had a feeling it was a boy, and I didn't know why as this pregnancy is very different to ds's. But, two boys suits me just fine - I have had the same dream many times where I have dp driving the car, and 3 strapping lads in the back. So I fully expect to have 3 boys all in all :) Sounds awesome!

dotty my anomaly scan is 12th Jan - i know i cheated and had my early scan but i am keen to know all is well with that scan too so will be counting down the days

leanne it won't harm baby BUT it certainly isn't any good for you either really, eating and drinking regularly is important during pregnancy

glad your scan went well bean

hi Apple congrats and welcome :)

Chookford · 18/12/2014 21:54

kyz congrats on team blue!

apple congrats and welcome!

leanne963 · 18/12/2014 21:54

Thank you everyone! You are all so lovely!!! :)

I actually had a word with someone today cause this placement has been a nightmare but things got better today and I was TOLD to go take a break and eat.

But I just ate about 20 olives now I have a terrible burning pain in my upper stomach! Think I over did it!

Thanks again! It's great to be able to come on here!

SilverHoney · 18/12/2014 22:11

Hi everyone, I'm due May 10th. Currently 19 weeks and driving myself crazy that I haven't felt baby move yet! Please tell me I'm not the only one...?
