Gutted today - went to see the physio (been going weekly) hoping she would say I could be off crutches (I've been so much better than I was) and she gave me the news of I'll probably be on them till after the babies born Shock I've been on them since 14 weeks and they are so frustrating.

Congratulations on all the scans - amazing how all the different hospitals do things differently! Mines also on NYE so here's hoping for some happy news to bring in the new year Grin

Purpleshoes2 · 18/12/2014 22:14

silver your definetly not the only one - a couple pages ago we had a big discussion on this. I'm currently 18 weeks and not even a hint of a movement (although I can seriously tell if the baby is on my bladder Hmm )

Sunshinesaz86 · 18/12/2014 22:17

Welcome apple I'm 19 weeks today silver and not felt anything definite, had feelings but nothing I can definitley said was the baby or just my insides/wind lol! I'm getting bigger though so assume all is well

Sorry to hear you'll be on crutches long term purple that's really crap! Sad

SilverHoney · 18/12/2014 22:24

Thanks Sun and Purple, I'm not worried anything is wrong, just jealous of everyone and their butterflies! 20 week scan is on Monday, can't wait Smile

Fluffeh · 19/12/2014 06:52

Oh rompers if forgotten about them!
I'll get a few in different sizes.
Anyone with more than one already were all your babies a similar size? DD was 6lb and is still really tiny now but I want to be prepared in case this one isn't. I guess it's just a buy lots of sizes moment.
My 20wk scan isn't until 29th and my consultant appointment isn't until 8th jan. my midwife is seeing me on Wednesday though so we can discuss a plan of action when she comes to my consultant appointment.
I'm going to try and argue my case for a home birth. I know they have to give you one if you ask but my neuro will have written to her by now to say no to vagibal birth so she's probably going to argue for the section.
I don't mind having the section, last time it was so calm and easy. Even recovery was nothing. I just don't want to have to stay in the hospital. I can't do the baby care on my own as I can't see and dp can't stay over this time as someone needs to be with DD. Home birth would just be lots easier. Dp doesn't agree but he's just squeamish haha.
Has anyone else thought about birth yet?

Purpleshoes2 · 19/12/2014 08:06

fluff if you don't mind me asking why would you not have a vaginal birth? (It may of been you I spoke to a lot earlier in the thread!)

I'm almost the complete opposite to you - my neuro has said CSection but my consaltant wants a no push vaginal birth. I think my consaltants crazy. Although I don't want to be in hospital I know what even a little bit if straining can do and worry I would be even worse and end up in hospital anyway. also the consaltant said the risk of having 'help' (forceps etx) was really high.

I know it all depends on the person but for me a caections has it's risks but I know those risks, a vaginal birth nobodies got a clue.

Bit of history I have Arnols Chiari Malformation - had brain surgery end of Feb this year. Had top vertabrae removed and a 50p piece of skull removed.

mumxof3x · 19/12/2014 09:20

Fluff usually they are similar sized, but mine wasnt. Ds1 was 2wk overdue and weighed 6ib11. Still teeny now at 6 hes on the 9th centile. So I bought tiny baby clothes for ds2. He was born at 40 weeks weighing 9ib, so 2ib 5 oz bigger at a lesser gestation. And then ds3 I bought all newborn and 0-3 based on ds2 and he was born weighing 6ib 13 which sounds similar to ds1 but he was born at 38+0 so a 4 week gestation difference so centiles for mine was 6th centile for ds1 81st centile for ds2 and 33rd for ds3...totally different really x

Hi everyone, hope Friday is treating you all well so far. Just had scan - all good, and we are team blue! So nice to see the little chap wriggling around happily. Apparently I have an anterior placenta too, so that explains why I haven't felt very much yet. Smile

Sunshinesaz86 · 19/12/2014 11:35

Congrats piglet great news! X

Chookford · 19/12/2014 14:40

Afternoon Ladies! Yay start of school holidays, finally! Xmas Grin

Welcome SilverHoney!

I've had to slipped (prolapsed) discs so just want the safest birth possible Fluf. I'm seeing the consultant but until I carry more weight to see if it will be an issue and can be tested by the Anaesthetist, what kind of birth that is, is anyone's guess! I have no specific preferences but I have hired a lovely Doula to help.

Congratulations on your Baby Boy piglet -wonderful news! What a beautiful sunny 'blue-sky' day to have your scan on! Flowers

piglet81 · 19/12/2014 16:19

Thanks everyone Smile Any other scans today, or before Christmas? Hooray for everyone on (school) hols now Xmas Smile

Fluffeh · 19/12/2014 17:50

Purple - I'm not meant to push either. I have intracranial hypertension and lost my sight due to the increased pressure it put on my optic nerves. I have a vp shunt but it's not working very well and as weve tried so many times to fix it, my neuro surgeon has half given up on getting it to work.
Last time my neuro pushed for a section so I had one and it was simple and relaxed so they just assumed I'd have one again. I have spent so much time in hospital over the past 12 years and unless I have no choice about it is really rather not be there again. I don't trust doctors anymore (long, long story) and it really panics me to be in there. A home birth would be my dream but they won't want me pushing so will probably veto it.
I'd have the section if they let me home the next day but the consultant has already said its a minimum of 72 hours after the section for complicated cases like mine.
Although I know how easy elcs recovery is for me I'd love that but I really can't face the 3+ night stay.
The anaesthetist said last time I could have a no push vaginal birth using forceps. I told her she was insane and I'd take the section haha.

Congratulations on your boy piglet!
There's so many boys now surely the girls are about to make an impact?
Thanks mum, I think I'll get a few tiny baby as well just in case. Although dd was tiny I just put her I newborn haha x

bradders85 · 19/12/2014 19:52

Congrats on team blue piglet :) and happy school holidays to fellow teachers! Hope everyone else gets to finish soon too and have a well deserved rest! Happy Friday! :)

shinyhappyone · 19/12/2014 20:31

I have my 20 week scan on Tuesday piglet. Very excited/anxious! Lots of team blue so far. I have no feeling whatsoever either way. I have had dreams where it's both a boy and a girl. Glad to hear everyone else's healthy scan news xx

mumxof3x · 19/12/2014 20:52

Congrats piglet :)

Yea thats a good bet fluff, im just getting a few bits in tiny too. But no idea what size to expect lol. He was measuring large on the 17week scan though.

Titsalinabumsquash · 20/12/2014 10:10

I had a dream I gave birth to a tiny crocodile last night! BlushConfused

I gave another scan Tuesday to get the last measurements of the heart (they said they can clearly see it's all there and working as should be but baby was having far too much fun cartwheeling around to get a measurement) if they confirm that it's a girl, she said she was fairly confident but to double check, then I will get out clothes and have a sneaky look through.
She is in the very bottom end of the size chart atm (my boys have all been at the top end!) but I know I have loads of tiny baby clothes from ds3 because newborn stuff swamped him.

I'm getting big movements and kicks now, ds2 got kicked in the head yesterday when he kissed my bump! Smile

Long day of tidying for me before Christmas, DP has taken all 3 kids out to "get some fresh air" (and shop for MEEEE!) I'm going to turn up the stereo and have a tidy before prepping a lovely dinner I think.

Have a good day. Thanks

I've been feeling lots of movement the last week, including a couple of kicks this morning.

leanne963 · 20/12/2014 12:03

Congrats piglet :)

I'm jealous of all the Kicks and movements! I think anything I feel is just gas or food digesting! It's mainly at night though when I am led down still. Can't wait to really feel her move :)

Chookford · 20/12/2014 12:04

tits I'm having dreams like that too!

applecore0317 · 20/12/2014 14:30

Hi,

I had my scan last night, and we found out that we are having a girl :) Was so amazing as we took my parents along too

The Sonographer also flicked into 4d mode, we had just booked a normal scan, so this was a lovely treat and she printed us a picture of it, I love now referring to the baby as Her instead of It :)

applecore0317 · 20/12/2014 14:32

Congrats Piglet on baby blue :)

leanne963 · 20/12/2014 15:53

Aww Congrats apple I'm having a girl too! So nice to say 'her' although it hasn't sunk in yet haha!

piglet81 · 20/12/2014 18:09

Lovely pics Apple! Congrats to you and Leanne on your girls - and anyone else I've missed upthread, too. It is really nice thinking of the baby as he/she rather than it - originally I wasn't sure about finding out but now I'm glad we did!
