Got some maternity jeans from Topshop- the fit is 'Joni' and I love them! So comfy and just look like regular skinny jeans if you like that style. Red Herring at Debenhams do a nice pair too- been in them since about 8 weeks! For work trousers, New Look do a pair of black boot cut trousers which are ridiculously cheap and I've found very useful.

Mslad · 01/12/2014 19:45

Sorry to be a complete pain, but what do I do to join the facebook gang?

scottish how come the maternity tights are so cool? bigger? more support?

Scottishgal78 · 01/12/2014 20:38

Mslad-they come up really high so they're not digging in round the waist.

Kyz · 01/12/2014 21:06

Hi all, just checking in!

Hope everyone is ok, gonna do a quick read to get up to speed :) Feel a bit behind you guys as i'm at the end of may, am 14+4 today though so getting there slowly but surely!

Jenni2legs · 01/12/2014 21:15

Heard the heartbeat at my 16 elk check up, MW said before to not be alarmed if she couldn't find it, but it was there straight away. She was training up a student so got to hear for ages too.

In regards to maternity jeans I have a few pairs and I swear by my ASOS own brand one's. They support my bump but I also feel like they lift my bum up a bit- it looks better in these then any other jeans everGrin

ooh they sound fab scottish tights that come up really high- why don't' we wear these all the time? I must track some down. And happy St Andrew's Day! Smile

I think I went wrong with my purchase of maternity jeans. I got them from new look online, and bought them a size bigger than my normal size, while they are lovely and comfy around the bump, they're too loose on the legs and look a bit silly. I'll just have to wait till my legs get chunkier to for them to fit Smile

jenni congrats on hearing the heartbeat. I've found the evening post a good appointment (scan or listening to heartbeat) is so relaxing and stress free- enjoy!

Kyz it's hard being at the back of the bus, I'm more to the middle and still sometimes feel way behind, but we'll get there.

plinkyplonks · 01/12/2014 22:01

I'm 19 weeks today, bump is starting to show and still feeling blurgh. Lower back is also starting to ache, particular when trying to get up out of bed, out if the bath or getting up from a chair/couch. Things have started to get on top of me emotionally - worried that the baby won't like me or love me, that something will happen to him/her, that something will be wrong at the scan or go wrong at the birth, that I am slowly turning into a pensioner - wetting myself, uncontrollable coughing, feeling weak, getting bothered by my weight, bullshit in work. It was all getting too much. DH has been great, think I just need to come to terms with all these changes myself though.

Trying to console myself that I have just 21 weeks to go and I get to see beanie again next week at my scan.

Above everything else, I just want the scan to go OK. I'm doing a very bad job at not panicing about it :(

shinyhappyone · 02/12/2014 06:23

Sorry that you're feeling concerned about those things plinky. Although, at this stage, I haven't been worrying about all those things, anxieties are definitely creeping in. My 20 week scan is 3 weeks today and I keep daydreaming both good and bad scenarios and worrying about silly things (even if bean is still alive!). I'm also massively hung up about the feeding thing too. Breast feeding really worries me but I know it's the best thing to do. Wish there was more advice on mixed feeding so put my mind at rest a bit.
I hope you feel less emotional about things soon. In a years time we'll think back to these posts while holding our little ones and know it all came good in the end Smile xx

Fluffeh · 02/12/2014 06:31

Plinky- I think some of those are very normal but please talk to your midwife/dh if they are getting intrusive and bothering you for much of the day x
Shiny - I mix fed dd for 5 months due to supply issues and it was fine. If mix feeding works for you/your family then go for it! Don't let the militant pro bfing Heath care workers make you feel bad for it.

I finally got to physio for my spd yesterday and she's referrred me on to the obstetric physio. Although she thinks there's not much they can do to stop it escalating.
I won't be able to use crutches out of the house as I use a guide cane to find kerbs/obstacles. It does worry me that I may be house bound or wheel chair bound towards the end but I have dp to help with dd so hopefully it will be ok.

mumxof3x · 02/12/2014 09:07

Im still waiting for my 20wk scan but midwife said they dont send them out until 17wk now, im 16wks now I had my last 2 at 19wks so hoping this ones same this time, not as long to wait then :)

Still not told many people, just mum, aunt and dps mum oh and my oldest little boy knows...but my dad doesnt and I feel so bad for mum having to keep it from him.

I started with sciatica and spd by now in last 2 pregnancys, and so far I have the odd pain and my hips are cracking everytime I move but nothing like it was with ds2&3 at this point.

Hope everyone is well x

KittyVonCatsington · 02/12/2014 16:10

Mslad - PM me your email address that youse to log onto Facebook and I'll email you the link to the FB group Smile

Hope you continue to not have bad sciatica and SPD mumxofx3 - they really are horrific to live with as Fluf is finding out-really hope you get some relief Fluf xx

plinky I worry about those things too. Good on you for voicing them here-we really need to stick together!

Peaky1 · 02/12/2014 16:39

Hi all

It's been ages since I posted in here but I catch the Facebook group messages more easily.

I'm sorry some of you are suffering with lots of worries. Please do talk to someone if these worries are escalating…well…talk to someone anyway! I obsessed with all the right things to do with my first pregnancy. This time around I'm much more relaxed (which I know is easier said than done in differing circumstances). As for feeding, if I'm lucky enough to be able to breast feed again then I will but I will most likely mix-feed. I'll do whatever suits the needs of the situation. I guess you never know until you get there!

All seems ok here. Graduated out of nausea into heart burn, ha! 20 week scan next Monday Smile

shinyhappyone · 02/12/2014 19:50

How do you access the Facebook group Peaky?

Kyz · 02/12/2014 20:17

Evening everyone :) Am coming down with another cold :( I keep getting poorly this time round, it's like I catch anything and everything!

Nice to know i'm not the only one back here on this bus :) 15 weeks on Thursday so I am getting there, just feels like it's going ever so slowly at the minute!

bless you plinky, I am a natural worrier and have some of the same worries. Please do talk to your partner/mw if it seems like you're really struggling with it all though - it's normal to have some worries but not to be consumed by them. Hugs xx

hope you avoid the sciatica and spd mumof I had it last time round and it was just awful. So far so good here too, other than when I do a thorough clean of the house or lots of walking!

KittyVonCatsington · 02/12/2014 20:52

shiny PM me the email address that you use for Facebook and I can invite you by email to the group, as it's secret Smile

Look after yourself with your cold kyz -horrible when pregnant Sad

Peaky1 · 02/12/2014 21:10

I'm in the cold camp too! Can't bladdy breeeeaaaathe!

cuphat · 02/12/2014 21:17

Kyz, I've been getting every cold going too. Had a horrid one a month ago with a cough that lasted a few weeks and now I've got the same again; I was awake for most of last night coughing. I'm with you at the back of the bus too - 15 weeks on Friday.

kitty could I pm you my email address too please?

longestlurkerever · 02/12/2014 22:29

Sorry to all those suffering physically and mentally. Hope it eases off soon.

Gingergeek · 03/12/2014 11:19

Hi can I join the May club too please?
Due 23/5 so I'm 15+4
Third baby and feeling way more tired and sick with this pregnancy than with my other two. Fairly big gaps though (Dd is 11 and ds is 5)

Hope everyone else is doing ok, and anyone who is feeling down or worried definitely do find someone to talk things through with. Sometimes that's all you need but it's also good to have someone else with a different perspective looking out for you just in case

Peaky1 · 03/12/2014 13:30

Hiya Ginger. Welcome and congrats! Isn't it funny (or not) how the pregnancies differ? I went off lots of food/drink with my first and now I'm eating everything in sight!

Starting to get really excited about DC2! I plan on having 12 months maternity leave this time too so that's brill. Counting down the days until Monday's scan Grin

How is everyone today?

Sunshinesaz86 · 03/12/2014 13:49

Hi Ladies!! Welcome Gingergeek

peaky 12 months offon maternity sounds lovely, lucky you.

ive worked out that if i take all my hols/bh before EDD (as i cannot carry them over) my last working day will be April 2nd!! By the time Christmas is out of the way that will come round very quickly! I dont actually know if i will still be able to carry out my job role 'properly' by then either, i had to climb into a loft the other day in work with a really crappy loft ladder and then get back down at 16+2 weeks! That was not fun, after xmas i will have to start telling ppl im pg and saying no I cannot climb up ladders nor can I roam your 4 acres of land or go down to your drak basement which has no lights which probably wont go down well but just one of those things!! Hahaa! the joys!
Anyone else worrying about how pregnancy may affect their jobs further down the line?

longestlurkerever · 03/12/2014 17:04

Hello everyone. Welcome ginger and congratulations.

My ebay doppler arrived. After 20 mins of panic I found the heartbeat! Not sure on balance I can recommend them as still haven't quite calmed down but is good to know baby is ok while I wait for movements to become regular.

On maternity clothes I say go for your normal size ot even one size smaller. The fact that it is maternity will give you the extra room you need.

Your job sounds intriguing sunshine. Mine is a regular desk job so not too worried. Late nights and uncomfortable seating my biggest hazard but last time I found the first trimester worst for tiredness.

Am hoping for 11 months or so off this time. Last time I shared a bit with dh so went back after 8 but he isn't so keen to do it again as he has a new job.

Sunshinesaz86 · 03/12/2014 17:20

its not very glamorous longest im a manager of an estate agents and so visit peoples properties on a regular basis and i cover a town and rural area so some are farms, some are repossessions, some are very lovely normal houses but day to day i dont know what i will find when i get there and this bloody loft room the other day i really didnt need, and it will only get worse! (ps im a nice estate agent by the way, i know what bad reps we have) :)

im glad all was ok with the doppler too longest suppose its nice and reassuring for you! ive found ebay fab so far for mat clothes! new and used but so much cheaper!

KittyVonCatsington · 03/12/2014 17:30

cuphat PM me your email address and I'll "invite you by email" to the group.

Welcome Ginger!

Oh Sunshine stop going p ladders! Grin It is tough in "physical" job though isn't it?!
