I've been feeling sick all day today, can't work out if it's a bug or pg related- really queasy and dehydrated, bit dizzy, really tired.
I went swimming last night and during and since then junior has been changing positions a LOT.
So I've been working from home, and I'll probably do the same tomorrow though feel really guilty as if I'm skiving!

jenmcspen · 12/11/2014 21:59

Just worked out - only 32 more shifts in work - eek! Feels like mat leave will be here before I know it Grin

memphis hope ur ok, fall sounds nasty. At least ur OH is giving u the full spa treatment! Lol!

PeppermintInfusion · 13/11/2014 09:55

I've got about 13 weeks left of workSad

L1ttleMissGiggles · 13/11/2014 10:07

Morning Ladies!
Its a horrible wet and windy day here today, wish I could of had a duvet day. I should play the pregnancy card and have a few sick days (although I don't get sick pay) but I worry if I do that, I actually will be sick in the future and really need to take time off then!

Thanks again memphis & hanflan and shell. I think I will just buy the normal ones from boots while I am placing an order and see how they are. Even if they are as bad as some of the reviews it will be better than not having any and they aren't all the world.

Things whats your due date? I have to work all over Christmas as we don't shut down then but I would prefer to do that rather than take it as holiday as I can save holiday to use before my Maternity leave starts when I will need the time off more if that makes sense. I am the same with you at work. I love my job but I am finding it increasingly hard to concentrate and I just can't wait to have some time off. Although it worries me also what I will be coming back to! I don't delegate very well so it will be hard handing over all my work to someone else! However I'm sure when I'm not here I actually won't give a stuff haha.

Hope you all have a good day Smile

Minichuch · 13/11/2014 10:15

Thing / little miss - I'm also same 13 weeks left at work although I'm lucky we close for Xmas and that is out of this years holidays plus I worked extra at beginning of year so have 6 lieu days - gonna tag them on to start of maternity leave so my smp goes a bit further

Decided today on which hospital im having baby at - not the most local to me but feel so much better - midwife going to organise all antenatal care there as well - big relief

When saw consultant at local hospital he referred me for 2 growth scans at 32 & 36 weeks for seemingly no reason - no measure of bump, check on my weight or testing for gd - all scans previous said baby was bang on where should be no anomalies - has anyone heard of this previously?

Mimosa1 · 13/11/2014 10:57

Hi ladies,

Jack, thanks so much for your kind words. I'm just waiting to hear about the test results, but trying to be sensible about foods until I hear. The phlebotomist told me that I'd only be contacted if there was an issue, and it would take a few days to get the results.

Worked out today I've miscounted the (working) days until mat leave, and it's 44 not 39 gaargh. I'm working right up until a week before my due date as we need to save ££ for our move. Have had an offer accepted on a flat, but the lady who is selling it inherited it from an American and lives in the States herself, and apparently, it's common practice there to continue to market a property until exchange? She's requested this from the agent here. He's said he would contact her and explain that's not common practice in the UK, but it still makes me uneasy.

Memphis hope you're feeling better, and Mr. Memphis is looking after you. ,

x Mim

Grinningcat · 13/11/2014 12:25

I have 43 days left of work counting today and Xmas eve which we traditionally get to leave at lunchtime so really its 42. I have also comitted to starting my ML on the 9th Feb, but I'll take a week of annual off before then, plus I have enough leave to take that I plan to only be working four day weeks from the middle of Decemeber. Hurrah. I'm finding it a bit of a struggle to get through a whole week at the mo.

On a related note, I know that some of you ladies have been really suffering from hip/pelvic pain. I have had some pain sporadically over the last couple of weeks, but I would count that as minor and expected. This last week it has geotten worse and I'm having real pain issues moving around in the evening. Even so after a good night's sleep I seemed to be okay, but this morning walking and moving about was only minutely better than last evening and that was after a bath and doing sod all last evening! Is this just going to get worse? Do any of you have any coping strategies? Its not bad enough to go to the GP yet, but I'm certainly having to limit myself as to what I can do.

PeppermintInfusion · 13/11/2014 12:44

Grinning I'm finishing up on the 9th too by the looks of it, that should give me 2 weeks before due date all being well.

I've had some pelvic/hip pain/bum spasms the moves we were shown at preg yoga really helped. Hard to explain, but you could probably find a video online. I find a lot of it is correcting my posture in work too as I must be putting extra pressure depending how I sit.

lawyeredout82 · 13/11/2014 13:06

Hello ladies, just a reminder to book in at your doctors for the whooping cough vaccine (NHS recommends having it between 28-32 weeks pregnant). The MW mentioned it to me at my last appointment (24w) and I've only just remembered to call the doctors now and they haven't got an appointment until December!

Memphisbelly · 13/11/2014 13:08

Mini seems odd if you have no health problems for them to say about later scans, I have at least one more booked in because my issues.

Dor hip pain I find heels against wall stand up straight and try and get your back/hips against wall soto straighten arch, do this 5-10 times and then stretch forward, I was doing this every week until my fall, it helped loads last time I was pg.

Quite scary reading your end dates of first week of Feb....I should have a bBy in my arms by thrn! Eeek thats scary

JacktheLab · 13/11/2014 13:25

Me too Memphis!

Had my 28 week clinic appointment, plus scan.

Madam is growing well but not too well, midwife said off record that she doesn't think there will be an issue with having an elective c section, so although my due date is 5th feb I might well have baby by the end of jan!

We talked about my birth plan and she suggested some stuff I should put on there like having baby placed on my chest soon as she comes out, which I didn't get last time and which might help with getting breastfeed going this time.

Sooo I might well have baby in eleven weeks time!

JacktheLab · 13/11/2014 13:27

Mini I agree with Memphis, strange that you are having growth scans unless they are concerned, I have extra scans due to diabetes but i guess it'll be nice to get an extra peak at baby Grin

Memphisbelly · 13/11/2014 13:35

Jack do you have an appointment booked in to speak about possibly booking in for a section.
I find out on the 3rd if they will induce me before EDD. I have decided if they do induce me We won't be telling people apart from my mum who will be there and my sister who will have ds, just because it can take a few days and I don't want to be inundated with texts.....obviously will tell you ladies though hahaGrin
Also decided if I get induced I will go alone for first part as apparently they can give you the drug and nothing happens for 24 hours so seems silly for my mum and dh to have time off work when I can read a good book or something....obviously this could all change my friend went to be induced and when examined they just broke her water and baby was here 2 hours later.

JacktheLab · 13/11/2014 13:44

I think it'll be discussed at the next clinic in four weeks time, I've got a large cyst on one if my ovaries so it's probably sensible to have that removed at the same time rather than have another operation of go through at s later date.

I felt a bit overwhelmed last time with parents descending on us just after Jacobs birth do I suggested that we would let them know when baby was here and then they can come to the hospital for a couple of hours then come back a couple of weeks later when we are home and settled, which went down ok, but will see hat actually happens, my family are a bit pushy!

BanglesSpangles · 13/11/2014 13:46

hola
just had a count up and i have 48 days left til mat leave, unless i decide to go early. Which in my head I was planning on doing, but now the girl doing my mat leave cover has started, actually, I think it's going to take the next three months to hand over to her! She's a little bit nervous, i think!

Memphisbelly · 13/11/2014 13:55

Jack my family will be fine but I am concerned about my inlaws, his mum was at my door when we pulled up with ds, his family were more distant last time I think because we werent married they thought I would leave with baby or something Hmm this time they ask more questions.
Ds is very protective of me and has wanted a baby for so long And because I have had pnd in past I said I am holding off visitors until I say, dh agrees as he pushed for visits last time and saw my mental health drop. My sil said yesterday good luck trying to keep people away newborns are too irresistable to not decend on you for cuddles, it got my back up as we have lived here 3 years and they have only visited 3 times. I also said well no one gets cuddles from baby until they put ds first and if he doesn't want people holding baby then they won't....he doesn't understand why people want to hold a baby that isn't theirs Grin
If I end up having to have a section....no one is visiting in hospital apart from ds and dh

Grinningcat · 13/11/2014 16:54

Memphis watch out about the 24 hours of nothing happening. When my Mum was induced with my older sister, my Dad went to work (this was in 1973), popped in to the hospital after having lunch at his Mum's and on his way back to work, and had baby thrust in his arms as he walked in the door while they sorted Mum out. Mum never even made it to the labour ward.

Mum was also induced with me and it took about the same time, although this time they were more prepared. Grin

Memphisbelly · 13/11/2014 16:57

Grinning Grin yes I will make sure dh is only at his base not in Scotland or something..... If they do induce me, I still have my doubts they will even induce me eventhough they said they would.

GeekyHybrid · 13/11/2014 17:41

I got my whooping cough and flu vaccines yesterday, just to warn you, the whooping cough one goes into the muscle in your arm so tends to feel quite bruised afterwards. Hence not a very good nights sleep as couldn't lay on either arm or move without the whooping cough one hurting. And today I've been tying in raspberry canes, great job when it hurts to lift one of you arms more than 6" from your side Sad Hopefully it will have cleared up by tomorrow cos if my colleagues thought I was cranky today!

Memphisbelly · 13/11/2014 17:50

geeky I had mine last week days 3-4 for me hurt even more and my arm was hot.

Bangonthedoor · 13/11/2014 18:11

Oh no not looking forward to my whooping cough vaccine then! I need to book it ASAP as I keep forgetting.

I don't mind needles it's just I thought the feeling after flu jab was bad enough!

GeekyHybrid · 13/11/2014 18:11

Thanks Memphis, I'll be looking forward to that! Supposed to be painting our bedroom at the weekend Hmm

jenmcspen · 13/11/2014 18:13

I had whooping cough jab today and it throbs. Does anyone else feel like a pin cushion atm? Every time I see a doctor or midwife they are sticking a needle in me!

Bangonthedoor · 13/11/2014 18:15

Ugh Hmm - that is all

Memphisbelly · 13/11/2014 18:47

Yes jen in last week I have had 2 injections and 4 lots of blood tests and a prick test for blood sugar my next set of injections are on the 21st to check white blood count.

I am very grumpy tonght Ds ran off ahead after school and that set me off on a grumpy night ahead, dh and the dog have also had it in the neck then I stropped back to sofa and knocked my elbow so ended up howling but no one would look up for fear of me snapping Confused Grin
Also tmi as I am now on codeine I haven't been to the toilet in a few days with no sign of going anytime soon either....not moaning though I should be relieved after 7 months of having the opposite trouble!
