Hi!

After approx 5 15 BFP's ranging from super faint IC's to super
BFPS with FRER - I am due DC4 1st July Grin

Already have ds1-16y,ds2-12y, ds3-6y.

Ds3 will be 7yo before dc4. Didnt really think it was such a big gap as he still feels like young iyswim til I sat and thought about it! Shock

Haha! What about designated driver? Though that doesn't always work... Or, another suggestion is take the drink and pretend I drink it but don't. Can't imagine anyone would be watchin too closely. Or slip it to DH when nobody looking ;)

Leela5 · 13/11/2014 15:29

That's hilarious! I've used 'I'm trying to stay healthy because we are still ttc' before, that tends to shut people up.

But i hate lying so I generally cave and tell people

Just had first time of getting metal taste. Weird!

WantToGoingTo · 13/11/2014 15:31

leela I had that a few days ago - no idea what it meant until I got it! Like sucking on pennies I imagine

sdyer · 13/11/2014 15:53

Hi all can't believe I've missed all these messages!
My spotting seemed to have stopped and it was just on 2 toilet occasions over 2 days. I called dr anyway and they're going to do an early scan. I'm 6 weeks today but they can't do an early scan till in 6+ so hopefully it will be next week.
I've bit really had any symptom other than bloating and tiredness.
I bought almonds today as i read they're a good source of protein for us but they're so tasteless Hmm
Re the drinking or shall we say not drinking. I've been drinking lime and soda in a wine glass. It looks like wine Smile

Love to you all x

Number3cometome · 13/11/2014 16:50

I can't be designated driver! I can't drive - that would look suspicious haha!

Lime and soda is a great idea! unless it's somebody else's round haha

I'm avoiding social events, I am supposed to be going to a work one tomorrow which I organised, and the Christmas ones (x3). One is in Newcastle which already has tickets and hotel booked, so will have to go and feign illness - can't drink, had the squits, that kind of excuse Wink

sdyer · 13/11/2014 17:00

Oh near number3! I'm not going to my work xmas one either. Also last Friday of the month we have drinks in the office after work so that will be a hard one x

catbus · 13/11/2014 17:14

Hello Smile
Hope it's okay to join. Am 5+3 and bricking it silently. Last MMC was in March so taking one day at a time. Trying not to knicker check and stay positive. Not many symptoms either.. but then they ebb and flow Confused

Thepurplegiraffe · 13/11/2014 17:23

Welcome Catbus I am 5 +3, it's a very scary time isn't it.
I have told a couple of people already and can see alot more knowing soon. If last time is anything to go by they all guessed pretty early on as I looked so rough. I am thinking about telling my boss next week as she is currently piling the work on quicker than I can blink.

smallgreenbanana · 13/11/2014 17:23

Seem to be getting into a routine with the nausea ... ok first thing, ok-ish through breakfast, gets worse until about 12 noon when I have to have lunch, ok-ish most of the afternoon, then about 5pm have to eat a packet of salt and vinegar snack a jacks. Ok-ish for a bit, then have dinner, much better after dinner. Rinse and repeat!

Am I allowed to say I'm a bit fed up of being pregnant already. ;)

Thepurplegiraffe · 13/11/2014 17:25

How far along are you smallgreen. We have a while to go yetSmile

smallgreenbanana · 13/11/2014 17:26

Having said that, Fx for sticky beans all round! Smile

headlesschicken247 · 13/11/2014 17:26

Yep by Christmas party will probably make it quite obvious. It's a shame it at the end of Nov and not in dec as I ma have felt a little more comfortable telling people - esp if I manage to get an early scan. Hey ho. I may end up telling my Dad next weekend but I do like the idea of waiting until Christmas - or at least a little longer.

smallgreenbanana · 13/11/2014 17:30

purple 6 weeks tomorrow.

catbus · 13/11/2014 17:33

Thank you purple and yes it is. Bizarrely I feel more calm this time around. I have had 3 MC/MMCs over the years but am lucky in that I have four healthy DCs Smile
I'm a bit worried as have just turned 40 too Shock

WantToGoingTo · 13/11/2014 18:09

Sdyer how about toasting almonds with a little oil in a pan, then adding to a curry? Or I use ground almonds in a cherry cake. Toasted sliced almonds in a curry is definitely delicious :) I agree that on their own they aren't very appealling though!

Is it possible to get cravings this early? If so, olives are my favourite at the moment. Gosh I could eat a whole jar and some. Or maybe I just like olives a lot Confused

Sarkymare · 13/11/2014 18:11

No number this will be my second. All going well there will be just 18 months between the two! I must be blooming crazy!

I might just stick DS in a big brother t-shirt and let people draw their own conclusions Grin

broodylicious · 13/11/2014 18:12

small, erm, good luck with the next 34 weeks.....

WantToGoingTo · 13/11/2014 18:12

:O sarky you sound a bit mad! Or at least supermum Wink

That would be a great way to tell people with the t-shirt :)

broodylicious · 13/11/2014 18:42

sarky, two of my good friends have small gaps between their boys and they love it. Yes it was hard work in the beginning while everyone adjusted but the boys seem so close now, it's lovely to watch them together Envy

Sarkymare · 13/11/2014 18:53

I'm only a little teensy bit mad I promise Wink

Sarkymare · 13/11/2014 18:55

That's what I'm hoping for too broody. I'm not an only child but I have ten years between me and my older brother and then ten years between me and my little sister. So I always felt a bit like one and wished I had a sibling of a similar age to play with

WantToGoingTo · 13/11/2014 18:55

DH is already talking about me having a short maternity leave so we have enough money left for another soon after Shock we haven't even had 1 yet! He thinks I am just going to pop them out haha

misseskimo · 13/11/2014 19:07

Thanks for the advice RE: flying. I have an appointment with the Dr tomorrow morning for a checkup and blood tests, so am going to ask then. I've felt awful again the last couple of days so I'm really considering saying no to the travel. Don't want to tempt fate by going over there unless I really have to!

Welcome catbus!

Love the tshirt idea sarky! one of my friends is really into digital media, and he announced his wife's pregnancy by releasing a video on FB called "A Summer Eviction" or something (his 1yo DD is called Summer), and the video was basically pics of his wedding, then of his dd, then shot to an image of his dd in her crib with an eviction notice on it saying that the premises needed to be vacated in 6m to make way for a new occupant... the video ended with an image of the recent scan and a due date! I thought it was brilliant, and you had to actually watch the video to find out as they didn't make any other announcements anywhere on fb other than sharing the video! :)

I used the antibiotics excuse at my own birthday party last week... Trouble was, the person sitting directly opposite me was a nurse, and started asking me which ones I was on so he could check if I could drink or not!! DOH!

Sarkymare · 13/11/2014 19:16

misses I saw that on Facebook!

Sarkymare · 13/11/2014 19:19

Well not the video but saw a photo of the baby and the sign on the cot. It was in a 'best pregnancy' announcement album.

There was also one with a couple holding a box of 'eggo' and a jar of 'Preggo' (amerian food brands i think) with the caption 'my eggo is Preggo' I quite liked that one too.
