Hi!

After approx 5 15 BFP's ranging from super faint IC's to super
BFPS with FRER - I am due DC4 1st July Grin

Already have ds1-16y,ds2-12y, ds3-6y.

Ds3 will be 7yo before dc4. Didnt really think it was such a big gap as he still feels like young iyswim til I sat and thought about it! Shock

Maybe we should have a pregnant after mc thread? I suspect our current emotions and experiences are v different from those who haven't had one.

Thepurplegiraffe · 04/11/2014 13:04

Not a bad idea Tall that would stop us bringing the main thread down. Then we can still post all the positive stuff here.

Threeplus1 · 04/11/2014 13:19

Hi, can I join? I haven't read through the whole thread but I just found out that I'm unexpectedly pregnant with dc4! My emotions are all up in the air and I'm not sure how we're going to make this work, but I'm tentatively excited.... I'm only 3w 5d so it's very very early days and a huge part of me doesn't want to get attached because, despite it not being planned (or even what we wanted tbh), I'm scared of losing it.

I'm due 17th July and need to figure out how it's all done here as I'm abroad and midwifery care is not the default like back in the UK where my other 3 dc were born.

Dh is in shock I think and very busy at work so he hasn't had space to think, therefore we've not really had a chance to talk it all through. So sorry for the long post but I really just needed to tell someone!!!

sdyer · 04/11/2014 13:20

butler4 I'm the same as you checking the loo after I go. Sorry TMI. Hopefully I can relax after I have a scan

Butler4 · 04/11/2014 13:53

Sdyer I know what you mean this is my 1st ever pregnancy after 22 months ttc and I am scared stiff. Trying to stay calm though and just be excited that we are having a baby after so long. roll on Christmas time for a scan.

Kilicat · 04/11/2014 13:58

Eski how are you doing - any more spotting? I've had a little this morning and hoping it's nothing to worry about. It doesn't really seem worth going to the doctors about - did you go at all? Syder / butler this of course has lead to paranoia so trying to stay busy and not think about it too much. Definitely not popping to the toilet regularly to check.

Kilicat · 04/11/2014 13:59

Threeplus1 congratulations to you....I am guessing the thought of 4 is a little overwhelming!

TallGiraffes · 04/11/2014 14:12

For those of you spotting, my epu said they don't worry until you are filling pads up. Fingers crossed for you both.

sdyer · 04/11/2014 14:25

I'm glad it's not me crossing my fingers when I sit in the loo!!

I think I have a bit of trapped wind ATM as in getting slight pain in my left when I breath deeply.

Welcome and congrats threeplus1

Bustherb · 04/11/2014 15:09

Sorry tmi but is anyone else experiencing different smelling CM? I have normal colour CM and the smell isn't a funny smell as you would expect. It just smells different to what I'm used to and is a little stronger I read somewhere else it hormonal, anyone else experiencing this?x

toastedcheesesandwich · 04/11/2014 15:22

Unfortunately spotting turned into a miscarriage last night, confirmed by hospital today. Very sad but we are allowed to try again straight away. Here's hoping next month will be our month. Im ok, its just like a period at this early stage - but with extra sadness.

sdyer · 04/11/2014 15:33

toastedcheesesandwich I'm so sorry to hear that my thoughts are with you and Dp Flowers x

Threeplus1 · 04/11/2014 15:54

Hi all, thanks for the welcome Smile

toastedcheese Thanks so sorry

bustherb that was one of the first things that alerted me to the fact I could be pregnant. It's not so noticeable anymore however

kilicat yes, the thought of 4 is very overwhelming! We live in a 2 bed apartment and are bursting at the seams already. We don't have a car and our family is thousands of miles away. Luckily we have a very good network of neighbours and friends though.

I've just been given my first MW appointment for 2nd December... It seems so far away eek!

EskiDecaff · 04/11/2014 16:00

Toastedcheese you sound incredibly brave, my thoughts are with you xx

EskiDecaff · 04/11/2014 16:04

Killcat thank you for asking, I didn't go in the end as it was such a tiny amount. When I phoned epu they said it had to be gp referral etc and they couldn't do a lot at 5 weeks so I'm waiting it out. Nothing since Sunday. We decided to pay for an early scan prob at 8 weeks so that we can see what's going on. I spent a day in blind panic but now feel strangely calm. I'm going wedding dress shopping tonight as I'm getting married in feb, we also had a call from our solicitors saying we are ready to exchange on our new house so I've decided calm is the only way to be at the moment! I hope you're ok and keep rereading what tall giraffe said - that is keeping me calm Smile

TallGiraffes · 04/11/2014 16:05

Toasted cheese Flowers Condolences to you and your DH. Be kind to yourself and take all the one you need to grieve.

Thepurplegiraffe · 04/11/2014 16:41

So sorry ToastedCheese, it's horrible at any stage. Take care of yourself. Thanks

Thepurplegiraffe · 04/11/2014 16:44

Eski if you have had nothing since Sunday I would have thought that was very positive. When I had my mc the spotting was followed pretty swiftly by bleeding so hopefully you will be fine. Good idea to get a scan though.

Kilicat · 04/11/2014 17:22

ToastedCheeseSandwhich very sorry to hear your news. FX for next month flowers.

Kilicat · 04/11/2014 17:30

Eski glad it's stopped although it does sound like you've got a lot going o over the next few months! Congratulations on the wedding and the house - sounds like lots of potential for stress so glad to hear that you're calm. And Purplegiraffe thanks for your input - reassuring as it was such a small amount! It seems to have stopped this afternoon not that I'm checking every few minutes or anything but might treat myself to a nice long soak in the bath this evening to help relax. I wasn't as stressed as I thought I would be about it but definitely glad it seems to have stopped.

I don't think I was at all prepared for the emotional roller coaster involved with ttc and then pregnancy. Thanks to everyone for being so supportive - having not told anyone (other than DH) in RL it is a huge help.

Babygirlpw · 04/11/2014 17:42

Toasted, so sorry. Thinking of you. Hugs.x

TouchPauseEngage · 04/11/2014 18:03

So sorry Toasted. Take care of yourself. Good luck for next month Flowers

Bustherb · 04/11/2014 18:22

Thanks three, sorry to hear that toasted ?? xx

SophieBarringtonWard · 04/11/2014 18:37

So sorry to hear that toastedcheese, happened to me in August so I can guess how you might be feeling. Fingers crossed next month is a good one.

I'm feeling anxious here too! I was feeling curiously optimistic, but this afternoon I've felt a bit crampy. Probably normal & possibly related to (tmi) constipation but it makes me worry as I had bad cramps before I had any spotting with my miscarriage. Ah well. Nothing to do but hang in there, right?

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 04/11/2014 19:06

So sorry to hear that toasted Sad Take care of yourself.

I thought I wouldn't be so paranoid second time around but I'm just as bad so far! I think having had to wait for a BFP this time has made it worse as I keep thinking if this one doesn't stick will it be another 14+ months before I get another chance? So can't imagine how much worse it must be for you Butler and for those who have suffered mc in the past. The only thing that helps me is to keep busy (work is helping me there - it's mad at the moment!) and remind myself that there is absolutely nothing I can do about it except try to eat reasonably healthy and not overdo things too much. That and pee on a stick regularly for reassurance! I also know that the ms will kick in soon so I'm trying to make the most of the nausea free weeks!

At least Christmas is busy (I feel I'm allowed to mention Christmas now it's November!) and will be a good distraction to see us through the last few weeks of 1st trimester. We are staying at home for the first time rather than going to family (in our new house!) and DH's family are coming to stay for 10 days so that will definitely keep me busy!

Wow Eski, wedding, house and baby all in one year? Impressive that you are still calm!

Congratulations Three that must have been a bit of a shock! Will you have to move or can you squeeze another little one in to your flat?

Hope everyone is well this evening with not too much nausea / acheyness / anxiety. I'm planning to put my feet up by the fire once DS is asleep (could be a while!).
