Hi!

After approx 5 15 BFP's ranging from super faint IC's to super
BFPS with FRER - I am due DC4 1st July Grin

Already have ds1-16y,ds2-12y, ds3-6y.

Ds3 will be 7yo before dc4. Didnt really think it was such a big gap as he still feels like young iyswim til I sat and thought about it! Shock

I'm still getting cramps and sharp stabby pains purple. I went for my first run since BFP and they were worse after that (could be totally unrelated though). Stabby pains are trapped wind I think, but did really worry last night.

kilicat I felt sick before I got BFP and for the next four days, to the point of heaving, since then I've just had waves of nausea if I don't eat regularly. I'm trying not to read to much into the fact it's died down...

TouchPauseEngage · 03/11/2014 18:32

wildfire I called to book and was told to ring back at 8wks and they would book me in for 9 or 10wks. Seems much later than everyone else!

Kilicat · 03/11/2014 18:47

TouchPauseEngage I to was nauseous before the BFP which has now all but stopped! Again, trying not to read anything into it but think it's normal not to feel sick for a few weeks yet so I am hoping this is totally normal. I was also told to call back at eight weeks as well (although I am not even really convinced the receptionist listened to my question and just seems to brush me off).

sdyer · 03/11/2014 18:53

Congratulations Ignominious yea I'm getting slight period like cramps but it's all part of your body getting ready for bubba Smile

TouchPauseEngage · 03/11/2014 18:53

Im glad it's not just me, and I know from googling that it is normal for it to come and go (think its to do with your body getting used to the level of hormones)

I did check with my mum (who works at GP's) and she said midwife letters usually come at 9 weeks so guess it usual here.

Time is going very very slowly....

sdyer · 03/11/2014 18:58

Does anyone else get little burps and hiccups or is it just me?

Thepurplegiraffe · 03/11/2014 18:59

Just read back. Eski a little bit of bleeding is fairly common in early pregnancy but if you are worried you should get it checked out. Has there been any more?

Kilicat · 03/11/2014 18:59

TouchPauseEngage the days do seem to be going by very slowly. Trying to enjoy them rather than wish them away but that's easy to say. At least I am back at work this week so things will probably go by much faster than last week!

SophieBarringtonWard · 03/11/2014 19:29

It's also perfectly normal not to feel sick at all, I didn't in my first pregnancy (did a little in my second).

AudTheDeepMinded · 03/11/2014 19:30

Kilicat, I felt very tired and nauseous in last two pregnancies but it was usually confined to retching. This can occur at anytime of the day and was worse if I got hungry or thirsty. It largely disappeared after first trimester but I did get bouts of nausea later on too. Putting things in my mouth like toothbrush/pens etc made me gag and even now my gag reflex is still not like before I had DS1.
I did actually throw up a few times which is quite embarrassing if in public, I really wanted a Tshirt saying 'i'm not drunk just pregnant' on it! DH and I went to London for a romantic weekend when I was pregnant with DS2 I cried all the way through 'WarHorse' proper sobs even before anything sad started and then hurled outside the theatre in front of everyone.
But don't worry by the time you actually give birth you won't worry about your dignity ever again!

Hi all. Wowsers I have missed a lot of messages. How are pregnancy symptoms coming for you all? I have a few but no nausea-didn't in my first pregnancy-so fingers crossed!! Haven't told my dr yet so no appointments scheduled. I think 12 weeks for me will be between Xmas and New Year. Any idea if they are likely to bring the scan forwards or push it back to Jan? Guessing they won't do any over Xmas?

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 03/11/2014 20:49

Kilicat brushing my teeth used to make me throw up when I was pregnant with DS, it happened every morning without fail from about 6 - 14 weeks, with waves of nausea during the day especially if I didn't eat regularly enough. I lived on breadsticks, salted crisps and peanut butter sandwiches for a while as that was all I could stomach. I also took to carrying a plastic bag, tissues and a bottle of water everywhere just in case as it was often brought on by busy commuter trains / tube and I had a few sudden vomit incidents, the worst being at 16 weeks when I thought all the sickness was over but suddenly had to throw up on the street outside my office one morning, no warning it just came out and no tissues or water on me either so I had to use my scarf to clean myself up before going in Halloween Blush Everyone was too polite to mention it if they saw luckily for me. I didn't have any sickness before 6 weeks though and some lucky buggers don't get any at all. Pre 6 week symptoms were big achey boobs, which stopped hurting between 4 and 5 weeks, dizzy spells and constant blubbing at minor things. Not much this time expect tiredness and slightly bigger boobs, although I did well up at my book on the train this morning, it wasn't even sad!

sdyer I am rather windy too and burping a lot, isn't pregnancy delightful?

Sophie yes I am planning a home birth all being well. The midwives at my first were not intrusive at all actually, just sat in a corner making notes and drinking tea while DH and I got on with things and didn't get involved until I was fully dilated. Hospitals make me tense, as does the thought of being driven to hospital while in labour I feel much more relaxed and in control at home and as the risk of adverse outcomes is no higher for low risk 2nd timers birthing at home plus there is less chance of intervention I will stick with that if at all possible. Can see why some would be horrified at the idea though! I think midwives are pushing it more after the research a few years ago as it is cheaper for the NHS than a hospital birth.

I am going to call the midwives on Thursday I think as I'm not working. Had an awkward situation at work today talking about staffing requirements and recruitment for next year in the context of a colleague going off on mat leave next month, I won't tell them until after my scan as I would hate to have to deal with that if anything goes wrong, but I did feel awful keeping it from them! I also caved and told my mum yesterday, trying to keep it all low key and not a big deal, she cried. Not helpful. Smile

Did those on their 3rd or 4th find the second labour easier / quicker / less painful?

AudTheDeepMinded · 03/11/2014 20:53

Mister, Oh yes an ELCS was a piece of piss after DS1!!!

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 03/11/2014 20:54

Oh my embarrassed face has a witches hat, didn't mean for that to happen! Baby my DS is a July 7th baby and they pushed my scan back to the new year when I was just over 13 weeks, but it depends how late that would be for you as they can't do it much later than 13 weeks or earlier than 11 I think. They will probably base it on lmp though, (I'm hoping I get in before Christmas this time as lmp would make my due date 3rd July which would make 12 weeks on 19th December) so if that gives you an earlier date then you could be in luck!

Kilicat · 03/11/2014 21:13

Mister and Aud thanks for the throwing up stories! I guess one of the things about pregnancy is simply that everyone has a slightly different story to tell so it's good to get some real examples!! Aud, love your t-shirt idea. Maybe someone with a business brain could sell a few of those. Mister, bit worried about this gag reflex thing, and someone else here mentioned it today as well. I have often gagged when brushing teeth anyway but not for about a year when it randomly stopped....until this morning! Hoping that's a one off and not a new trend.

syder definitely also feeling gassy...and bloated to the point where my skirt felt uncomfortably tight today at work. Hope that passes soon!

Thepurplegiraffe · 03/11/2014 22:05

Another story, I was sick from about 5 or 6 weeks until 23 weeks. I then just continued to feel nauseous until the end when I started throwing up again. In the beginning I was losing weight rather than putting it on. I also took to carrying water, plastic bags and boiled sweets, journeys were a nightmare. And what I could actually eat kept changing so that something I relied on would suddenly make me chuck. And teeth brushing was guaranteed to make me be sick on many occasion.
Can't wait to do it all again. Shock

ignominious · 04/11/2014 06:14

Purple exactly the same here! Still not back up to pre preg weight (though the mc helped Hmm) Are you having meds?

EskiDecaff · 04/11/2014 07:15

Purple - thank you, more bleeding no pain so fingers crossed it's ok.

As for scans my ds was born on 26/06 although his due date was exactly the same as this time.. His scan was on 30/12.

My boss has twigged I'm so sure because my usual 32b boobs are now bursting out my new 32d bra. Luckily she's a good friend I could see her twig and then change the subject.

I think it's obvious as I have a really bad coffee habit and that has stopped out of nowhere. But hey ho!

Hope everyone's well Smile

Thepurplegiraffe · 04/11/2014 07:28

Glad to hear you are doing ok Eski.

Ignominious I wasn't offered anything, they just seemed to expect me to deal with it. I'm not even sure the sickness was the worst of it though, I just felt terrible as well. My sister was even worse and had meds so maybe I should be more insistent next time. The thought of doing it again, with a 1 year old, is intimidating.

ignominious · 04/11/2014 07:41

I wasn't offered anything with DD didn't even miss work! GP did offer to write me off sick I don't know why I didn't. Last pg I insisted and it helped a bit. Didn't cause the mc there were problems before that. I'll try something else this time. Recommend it. Also the hg thread

Thepurplegiraffe · 04/11/2014 08:07

I didn't take any time off either though I did work from home alot. I think that might be why I have a job now after a restructure where my role disappeared, because they saw how hard I worked to keep coming in.

How late did you mc then Ignominious? Mine was very early, must have been very tough later on.

ignominious · 04/11/2014 08:31

Ha, I got bullied out of work despite coming in Smile
Mmc at 10 weeks. Brown spotting at 7.5 which was before I took any drugs, spotting was nothing but they did a scan and baby was too small for dates but there was a heartbeat. They told me to come back after a couple of weeks and heartbeat had stopped. Sorry should keep this for MC thread.

Thepurplegiraffe · 04/11/2014 08:38

Sorry Ignominious that must have been so hard. And sorry yes we probably should. Hopefully this time we will all have our sticky beans!

Thepurplegiraffe · 04/11/2014 08:39

Bullied out of work though!Angry
