I'm dreading telling people. Most people and family have assumed we were done at two. Tbf I decided recently that we were and then surprise surprise period two weeks late. I can imagine all the responses. A couple of friends will be beside themselves and the others the opposite end of the scale. Maybe I am being unfair on them. They might surprise me and be all supportive and talk negatively behind my back. Need to worry less about what other people think. Don't need their approval. I think if I was younger I would be ok but it's cos I'm almost 40 I'm expecting some raised eyebrows.

BingoBonkers · 10/11/2014 17:16

Today I managed to unload the dishwasher and put it all away without realising it was still dirty. Shock

Snooky17 · 10/11/2014 17:23

Lol Bingo the joy of baby brain, i did think about not telling anyone see if anyone was brave enough to mention I was getting fat lol, I knew I should keep my big mouth shut earlier, felt great this morning, this afternoon banging headache feel sick and an IBS flare up so now back ache and tummy ache.
You are right tho Bingo you don't need there approval, should practise what I preach tho ask my oldest if she wanted to come to my next scan (16 wrk private sexing scan) got a "yeah okay" text, which upset me.
How's everyone feeling?

Tranquilitybaby · 10/11/2014 22:50

Hi welcome snooky and congratulations. X

Oh the tiredness, it's beyond ridulous. I'm absolutely shattered. :(

Gingerbreadlady1 · 10/11/2014 23:20

Hi everyone!

Last full day of hols, been great however I do have a proper bump now but just look fat as I waddle around in my bikini. tranquility hope you're taking it nice & easy. Welcome to all the newbies, it's lovely how busy this thread is now. Thinking we need a stats list, stubborn!!! I know you're lurking! Come out the shadows & exercise some of your IT prowess please.

How's everyone else doing? fankle, inshock, where've you gone?

So who's got a scan coming up? My newest obsession is worrying about the nt & blood test results, they might be waiting for us when we get home.

Lol at dishwasher bingo, snooky, your daughter may be a bit jealous & insecure about your pregnancy however I'm sure as it gets more real her excitement will grow, it's prob unexpected so hopefully will just take a while to sink in. Worst case, when the little one comes, who can resist a little baby?

So nice to read all the messages, everyone seems to be progressing nicely. Today I am 7+5 but tbh I'm feeling a bit of a fraud on this thread. I still have no signs of pregnancy ( other than the test of course) and a strong suspicion that this pregnancy has not developed past the 5/6 week stage.
I have no signs of miscarriage yet either but I think it's just a matter of time. I've decided to wait a few more weeks to see if things go naturally but will see the GP around mid December if nothing has happened by then.
I'm still taking the folic acid just in case there is a minuscule chance I'm still pregnant, and the rest of my diet and lifestyle is compatible with pregnancy anyway (usually drink decaf, don't like blue cheese or runny eggs etc) so I'm just carrying on as normal.
Best wishes to the rest of you for the rest of your pregnancies. I'll be off from the thread now. Take care everyone. Thanks

stubbornstains · 11/11/2014 10:20

I am indeed lurking....Grin. 9 days till my scan now, at which point I hope to crash back into this thread full time, and bore you all with symptoms....and I will do a stats list, promise......

ginger arrgh stop it stop it!! It is bloody pelting it down horizontally here, the miserablest November day ever....Envy

fromwesttoeast big hugs, and really really hoping that your suspicions are proved wrong xx

BingoBonkers · 11/11/2014 12:55

FromWest Thinking of you and completely understand taking a break but I really hope you have good news and rejoin us. ThanksThanks

Tranquilitybaby · 11/11/2014 17:28

West I understand you needing a break but hopefully everything is ok. Why don't you book a private scan for piece of mind? X

fromwesttoeast · 11/11/2014 18:21

Thanks for your concern ladies. I have considered a private scan, but on reflection I decided that it wouldn't be worth the cost and disruption caused by having to travel to another town. In the end a scan cannot change the outcome.
Sometimes I impatient to get it all over and done with, but I can wait and be patient. I'm resigned to it. It's not tearing me up. Every pregnancy is a journey.
I should really leave now!!

Overtiredbackagain · 12/11/2014 08:53

Hoping you're back to join us soon Fromwest.

How is everyone today? X

Overtiredbackagain · 13/11/2014 09:10

Hope everyone is ok, threads very quiet Smile

Snooky17 · 13/11/2014 10:28

Morning overtired! How you feeling? Hopefully the thread will pick up when people are past the scary first 12 weeks, tho it's all bloody scary lol, still waiting for my blood results hoping a letter comes and sh*tting myself every time the phone rings.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 13/11/2014 12:10

Hi everyone, back from hols. Developments here are got blood test results back and delighted to say we're low risk. Also told me boss today which went alot better than expected! Result all round.

snooky I think you're spot on with why its quiet on here. Hope everyone's feeling okay?

Snooky17 · 13/11/2014 12:17

Congrats Ginger ! Thats fabulous news, do you mind me asking what was your nt measurement? I'm a bit older than you do know my risk is slightly higher anyway tho

HexyQueen · 13/11/2014 12:23

Hi guys. Sorry I've been quiet, still suffering badly with hyperemesis, was in hosp on Monday, new meds but still nauseous constantly, vomiting & bed bound. Also got the anxiety kicking in as 10+2 now, next scan on 25th & got the fear cos I'm 42 so will I get a high risk & then have to have cvs & amniocentesis....? Guess we will all feel bit better once get past 13 week stage. X

Gingerbreadlady1 · 13/11/2014 16:54

Thanks snooky, sorry but I don't know the measurements . At the scan she just said it looked good & the letter didn't give specific odds, just said low risk. Not much help!

hexy, good god woman, you are having a hard time of it! Really hope the new meds at least take the edge off it. We all have the fear but even though we are that bit older, the odds are still massively in favour of healthy babies.

Sorry girls, been a bit quiet on here and MN in general really. Just feel in limbo until mid December really and have Harmony results back and scans done.

What did you have done ginger combined nuchal & bloods?

Hexy you're really going through it you poor thing. Really feel for you x

BingoBonkers · 13/11/2014 23:54

Hexy can you have the Harmony test?

Gingerbreadlady1 · 14/11/2014 08:34

That's right tranq, was gonna have harmony if my results were high now thinking I might get it anyway. We're all awful worriers aren't we? Do you think I should ladies or am I being (more) mental?

Understand being reserved till after scan & tests, I'm only feeling chatty now so will natter on till the rest of you feel ready.

Overtiredbackagain · 14/11/2014 08:55

Hi Ginger, results being low risk are good, no different from if you were younger and not classed as an older mum? I feel like I'm burying my head in the sand abit and am now terrified that I'm underplaying the whole "having a baby at 40" Hmm

I had a horrendous day yesterday, couldn't keep anything down. Managed to have a dry biscuit this morning before leaving home and feeling abit more human today.

Snooky17 · 14/11/2014 11:07

Hellloooo
Hexy hope your starting to feel a bit better.
Ginger, it's tricky isn't it right now I'm thinking if I get a low risk that's it no more testing but guess it depends on just how low the risk is. Still waiting scan was a week ago today, googling to find out how soon people got high risk results isn't very helpful lol.
Overtired the whole having baby at 40 worries are kicking in here just had the "u do know your be 60 when kid is 20 don't u " text, er yes I can do basic maths thanks ! Grrr

Overtiredbackagain · 14/11/2014 12:33

It does help having you lovely ladies to talk to though.

Tranquilitybaby · 14/11/2014 17:15

I'm having the Harmony package, much as I'm a hot in denial this is happening at the minute, I think for peace of mind, it's the best way to go. Could do without spending that much so close to Christmas, but hopefully if all is ok and I'm low risk, I can start to actually enjoy this a bit. Pregnancy after losses isn't much fun and I'm struggling a bit I must admit. X

BingoBonkers · 14/11/2014 21:02

The FMC are lovely people too. Professional, patient, caring through and through. I certainly didn't feel that it was wasted money. As much as we could do without spending such serious cash, our thoughts are that for the peace of mind and thorough review of what's going on "in there" its money well spent.

I will be glad when the scans and tests are all done and hopefully all being well we can start to tell people and I can relax a bit and let my gut hang out to its hearts content and start wearing my maternity wear.

I'm totally paranoid about my age and being pregnant again. I really shouldn't care what other people think.
