Tiny, glad it went well. Congrats on getting a good peek.
I'm in 2 minds on scans now though. MW found heartbeat quite easily today so that was a relief and booked to see me again in 2 weeks so I don't have to wait 3 until my consultant/abnormality scan. And I do appreciate hearing/seeing it as basically no other indication yet that am really pg. But read elsewhere that someone had decided against a 3D/4D due to potential concerns at over-doing the scanning, & googling it now does brings up various references suggesting it might affect brain development - basically cause minor brain damage, including delaying speech, higher risk of dyslexia, learning difficulties, autism and epilepsy. (And neurotube defect being what I'm high-risk for anyway so keen to minimise any other risk factors). If there were more definitive evidence you'd hope it would be more widely known but it must be so hard to prove or disprove any causative effect in this situation; does make me worry some. The clincher against getting a home foetal heart Doppler.
I've seen 6 ultrasound scans so far plus another 2 heartbeat Dopplers, with one more of each in the diary. Now wondering if should think again, re the Doppler anyway. Then again Little, if it reassures us to see/hear it on a scan, maybe relaxing, dropping cortisol levels or blood pressure or whatever else results might be more beneficial than any possible small risk from the ultrasound scan, mightn't it?
Hope generally everyone is feeling ok today. Shetland was it you having a 16-week check for anomalies today (now Friday)? Fingers crossed for you.
