Just Shagging Grads thread No.13 for upduffed viroids!

Nessalina · 06/10/2014 07:46

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 13th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed! Grin

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 29th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy! Grin

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids! Smile

I don't mind injections.

Aargh itchy legs have returned! Thought that symptom had passed.

ZylaB · 09/10/2014 19:45

I hate when I go for vaccination sets, when they say to me "oh you'll be used to this!"

Yes, I usually do 5 injections a day, more if I'm correcting weird of sugar levels, but that's not the same as a vaccine that makes my arm ache for days and leaves me feeling shit!! I hate that they compare them.. Whinge over Grin

laurenamium · 09/10/2014 20:00

hi viroids! Just checking in, doing my accounts and eating really bad takeaway. And I feel sick after 3 mouthfuls. Hmm

DP has gone for the night as he was work in another town tomorrow so I'm enjoying some peace! Grin

wilmabedrock · 09/10/2014 20:15

MrWil also out but I am wrecked and feel really sick and wouldn't mind someone to make me a decaf and give me a cuddle (get the violins out).

RPopz · 09/10/2014 20:19

Awww Wil ... and Brew

We're having takeaway too! Treating Mr P to Chinese as he's been painting the nursery all day (badly lol.... but he's done the donkey work so I can tidy up at the weekend Grin )

littleluna89 · 09/10/2014 20:20

cookie excellent! Might add it to my list of things for Sam to panic buy if I can't breastfeed. I already have the steriliser from last time and bought some new bottles in the sale.

ZylaB · 09/10/2014 20:21

Aww wil big hugs and a cuppa!

laurenamium · 09/10/2014 20:27

Hugs for will! And a tiny violin Grin

wilmabedrock · 09/10/2014 20:28

Hehe thanks. What colour are you going for Popz?

teejayem · 09/10/2014 20:44

I've never had the flu jab..... Is it a must have do you think....? I just don't want to have to take a week off if I feel like extra pooh...

ZylaB · 09/10/2014 20:50

I think it is worth it tee apparently there's a higher risk of miscarriage or problems if you get a fever, it can be serious. And IF you catch flu you will get a fever, so the vaccine reduces the chances of it.

RPopz · 09/10/2014 20:52

Purple and cream... sounds weird I know but am hoping my vision will totally be... err... visualised!

wilmabedrock · 09/10/2014 20:53

They recommend it for pregnant women. I had a flu type virus during first pg and it was awful. Then led to a chest infection and had to take antibiotics which obviously isn't ideal. So I would probably say get it. I don't remember my arm being particularly sore after it.

HungryHorace · 09/10/2014 21:06

Ness, it's flipping positions and also not being in a great position with DS (he was breech oblique, so sideways across me, not bum down!).

They like them to settle either head or bum in pelvis and stay there!

He still loves lying on his side. It's funny!

littleluna89 · 09/10/2014 21:18

tee it's not a must have, but it's free, and anything's gotta be better than the flu, I have taken to paying for the jab :P

So I tried to breach the idea of a Doula with DH as my mum might be half way across the country for the birth and I really feel I need the support of someone who's actually been through labour and has some understanding of the pain I'll be in. I found a lady who's trained in Reiki and does breastfeeding support and she sounds lively, however when I tried to suggest it to DH he completely flew off the handle whilst still playing bloody computer games about me wanting a stranger in the room whilst I gave birth, he completely refused to listen to my arguments... can't help but feel he'd have been less upset and threatened like a giant manchild if I'd suggested that perhaps my male best friend should spend my entire labour staring at my hooyah!

Think I'm going to have to prevent him coming to the anaesthetic review so I can have a serious discussion with the anaesthetist about c-section options as given his general unreasonableness I can't help but feel he'd refuse to even let the anaesthetist discuss a c-section and any anaesthetic risks related to it if he was there >.> luckily he doesn't feel the need to come to the midwife appointments, so I can discuss c-section options with her freely, the consultant however is going to be difficult as my consultant appointments are after the scans and hell will freeze over before he misses a scan...

wilmabedrock · 09/10/2014 21:38

Why is he against c-sections Luna? As for the stranger argument, that's rudiculous. Think I had about 7 medical professionals in my room at one point when I was lying legs akimbo in stirrups! Why does he feel a doula is different to a normal midwife? If I'm being honest, my opinion would be the men don't get a say in the birthing process. They can be supportive or fuck off. Would he let you dictate medical procedures on his body?

Sorry, I've gone all feminist and ranty. MrWil came to my scan but I went to app afterwards on my own. Won't he need to get back to work or something useful?

Doesn't sound strange Popz. MiniWil's room is a kind of purpley/pink and white.

wilmabedrock · 09/10/2014 21:39

*ridiculous

Pisghetti · 09/10/2014 21:49

It's not too sore at all! I'm just a wuss with needles. I've been pierced a few times so it's not like I avoid them for non medical reasons... So I figured I'd better man up and get on with it. Every medical person I've had contact with so far in this pregnancy has recommended it - pregnant women are a priority group for it now.

Are you feeling better now Wil ?

JuniDD · 09/10/2014 21:50

luna I suggested a doula to MrJ and he didn't like the idea of it either. He did get in a bit of a strop. Sometimes you just have to introduce the idea and let it simmer for a while. Can you give him anything to read about doulas? Some have good bits on their websites about not replacing the father, but supporting both parents. We're not going for one, but he did come round.

I'm not sure on the c-section thing. My friend is having one as she has severe fear of childbirth. I guess you get a date etc when to go in? So MrLuna would know at that point and you probably don't want to have a row with him just before going in for surgery. Hope you can get it sorted. Thanks

I'm having an emotional evening about this back-to-back business. Sigh. At least MrJ is stepping up and doing my dinner (late much?!) and helping me with inversions etc. SIGH!

laurenamium · 09/10/2014 22:12

Luna, I'm with wil on this! Although his opinion does count, it's you that is ultimately going through this and what you want or say goes as far as I'm concerned! I'm another one that had the whole hospital staring at my hooyah, and I didn't even get assistance they were just there in case!

Sorry to those that are feeling rubbish Thanks

wilmabedrock · 09/10/2014 22:13

Juni, it'll be fine. It's nowhere near as complicated as breech or transverse. Don't stress about the stuff you can't control.

Still feel extremely barff-like Sad .

Would your men folk also object to e.g. your mum being a birth partner? I had my mum for some of time last time so MrWil could have a break Hmm .

callipygian00 · 09/10/2014 23:03

Hello viroids Smile It's hard work keeping up with you lot! Lauren that's amazing news about your scan, you must be so relieved! Gaggia we haven't dtd since bfp, too paranoid about it in first trimester! Can't wait til second!

6 weeks today and it was my first day with morning sickness, it went away about 10 and only came back about 5 so not bad at all. Also got a sneaky wee promotion today so well chuffed!

Bit confused about the whole co sleeping thing. Is it safe with the cots? Just not recommended in same bed? Sooo many things to choose, it's mental. Lucky we have about 34 weeks for all that!

littleluna89 · 09/10/2014 23:05

wil Juni and lauren I think mostly he's against a c-section because his mum (a nurse) was so against the idea last time, with DD I had been offered a section slot the day of my induction when the consultants did their morning rounds but didn't go for it because MiL's whole general dislike of the idea put me off, however having had such an awful birth last time I'd like to at least be informed on my options.

There's a weird part of me that likes the idea that I'd have to stay in the hospital for a few days if I had a section, they can't really chuck me out 12 hours later post surgery, but the recovery time looks horrendous, and I already take forever to heal. but I could perhaps put some extra weak on so that I got the breastfeeding support that I didn't properly get last time before they eventually evict me?

When they realised I was having a PPH with DD there were tonnes of 'strangers' in the room and no we didn't know the midwives, so I don't really know what his problem is with regards to strangers :/

I had my mum in there with us last time, so they swapped in and out so they could both get a few hours sleep during the night, but this time she's likely to be away, so I've been trying to work out who the best person to have in her place is. I definitely want it to be someone who's given birth, as harsh as it sounds I don't want it to be my MiL if my DH is there as well because I kind of feel like they'll end up trying to make all my decisions for me (as irrational as that perhaps is...) I don't really have many mummy friends, and only 1 who's close, but not enough that I'm happy for her to see my fanjo!

littleluna89 · 09/10/2014 23:07

callipy the concern with cosleeping is physically being in the same bed in case you accidentally smother them O.o

Nessalina · 09/10/2014 23:58

That's frustrating Luna, I hope he thinks about it... My DH was very Hmm when I suggested it might be nice to have my mum in as a second birth partner, I think they don't like to feel 'replaced'. I think a doula sounds great! Just try to explain it to him in terms that affect him positively - 'you know how it was such a help last time to have my mum to support me so you could rest' etc

Ah, Juni, I know just how you feel, it's so frustrating when the little beggars won't do what they're mama is telling them to! My stomach has been like a washing machine on high spin today, it really does feel like he's trying for a big manoeuvre... Fingers crossed for them getting their rears in gear and facing the right flipping way!

Bump is also weirdly sensative to touch today - if I stroke my tummy he squirms Shock Feel like there's lumpy bits under my ribs too - when I poke them, they poke back! Grin
