Parks bottom to bounce on ball whilst eating dates Grin Hello ladies

hefner · 28/09/2014 17:39

Thanks for the new thread. I'm 40 weeks tomorrow and I'd convinced myself the baby would arrive this weekend but no sign. Oh well, at least I can have a nice relaxed day tomorrow after rushing around to get everything done last week. I think I'll get impatient if he's not here by Tuesday, dd was on time so I'm not used to having to wait!

Pregnantagain7 · 28/09/2014 17:39

Hobbles in a parks pile ridden arse! Grin

madamweasel · 28/09/2014 18:14

A stomach the size of a bird is so depressing - I actually went to the effort of cooking a nice pasta dinner but couldn't eat much Sad - I can't wait till I can go back to greedy size portions and not be worrying about the heartburn afterwards...

Shirehobbit · 28/09/2014 18:16

Colds stink Sad
Have survived the inlaws, though.

puppythedog · 28/09/2014 18:31

Sneaks in and hopes the Ladies don't notice the interloper fella.

Lily31 · 28/09/2014 18:44

Waddles over and waves.

Baby has had a massive growth spurt. I still have 4 weeks, but I'm literally huge! We're away for a couple of nights in Suffolk. It's been a beautiful day. People are doing double takes at my medicine ball belly.

LondonJen · 28/09/2014 18:47

Congrats Buggerlugs!!

That's such a nice name Porcito glad you are doing well.

Lovely pic Slide I fully expect 2 weeks in pj's so I like your style!

Today I have managed to do things. Not many things. And nothing exciting. But I haven't needed two naps and to sit down after each of them so feeling quite positive.

Out of interest, why do they say breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth?? It says that on the hypno & I always find I'm not inclined. I like to breathe in and out through my nose -does it matter?! (For relaxing I mean and help with labour, not generally Grin)

ohthegoats · 28/09/2014 18:59

I can't breathe through my nose. It's been blocked since day 1 of being pregnant. Midwife at aquanatal just told me to count as I'm breathing in and out even if both through nose or both through mouth. Count of 8 apparently good. I've just spent 2 hours stripping wallpaper, followed hy massive overheat sweats and an hour in a cold bath coughing. It's all glamour. I'm so happy about my new bathroom though, just want to be in it all the time!

SweetPeaPods · 28/09/2014 19:04

Marking place in new thread.
Does anyone actually make it to the end of a hypnobirthing cd? I fall asleep every time!!

Kirstipops · 28/09/2014 19:08

Thanks for the new thread!
Jen I reckon as long as the initial breath in is through your nose it doesn't matter whether the exhale is through your nose or mouth, I know i do both and it makes no odds to me! Natal hypno says out through your mouth and hypnobirthing says out through your nose, I'd just go with whatever feels most relaxing at the time!

My insides have had quite a battering from baby today! I've just sat in my nursing/rocker chair and began murmuring the only two lullaby-esque tunes I know (Baby Mine from Dumbo and Lalalu from Lady and the Tramp, yup I'm old school!), while rubbing my tum, and baby has chilled right out. Very possibly a coinckydink but hormonal me could weep at the idea that it was my doing Blush

puppythedog · 28/09/2014 19:10

I do a lot of breathing exercise stuff for work and I think the nose part is irrelevant. If it's not comfortable for you don't.
My experience of in through the nose is I cannot get enough air in. Hypoxia can be relaxing of course but it's counter to my understanding about the benefits of breathing exercises.

MundayCakes85 · 28/09/2014 19:11

Has anyone actually been doing the perineal massage? I've attempted a couple of times but never managed the full 5 minutes, and never got both hands below my bump at the same time!
Got my sweep booked for tomorrow morning, been bouncing on my ball and DH today, have a nice walk round the shops booked for tomorrow so let's get this baby out!! Grin

Marking my place!

Missus2ndwife · 28/09/2014 19:26

Thanks for the new thread!

Anyone else's partner really starting to wind them up??
He thinks he's hilarious after a bottle of vino... He's not!

I'm sitting on my exercise ball. He has to tap his feet against it.
I lie on top of it - he has to try push it from underneath me.
I go to get a drink. He has to start using it as a pedestal.

If I commit murder I wonder if I can get off for being pregnant?

Kirstipops · 28/09/2014 19:27

Good point Goats and Puppy, you just need to go with what's best for you, I just don't like deep breaths through my mouth as I feel like it'll catch my throat and start me coughing or something :P
Lol @ your bouncing activities Munday! Haven't done any perineal massage, I cringed at the idea tbh, prude that I am :P

mrsb87 · 28/09/2014 19:28

I'm not sure of it means anything but both dh and I have been on super nesting mode all day! Whole house has been cleaned including the nursery carpet which has been shampooed, cookies finally baked (it's only taken 3 weeks to get round to it!), bathroom scrubbed. We also did some rearranging in the kitchen. All that and just cooked a roast! Not sure where all that energy came from.
no perineul massage, can barely reach down there let alone massage it haha!
I'll be going for a sweep tomorrow too, little bit of me is quite excited to think it might start something off Smile

fatpony · 28/09/2014 19:36

Kirsti, do you know 'hush little baby don't say a word, papa's gonna buy a xxx' - that's the only one I know. Proper old school.

Stuck on the m40 in traffic coming back from father in law's birthday.
Great to see them, lovely people, but slept awfully and they make such a FUSS about everything. The table has to be laid perfectly for every eventuality before we can sit down (have we got the right spoons for the jam, the herbal tea, the coffee, the marmalade) the three kinds of milk, the two kinds of sugar....takes about an hr to get the breakfast table ready! Grrrr
At 37+3 I am not doing any more
Long drives!

fatpony · 28/09/2014 19:40

Ps anyone with/planning on using a bednest do you know if you can attach a mobile to it (I guess not the canvas sides but maybe the wooden ends?) as s-i-law was telling me she found one a real godsend in helpin her LOs to nod off (the kind that plays a lullaby and the bits go round).

Congrats to all the new mummies!

sazzlehopes · 28/09/2014 19:54

munday and mrsb in a not too wrong way I hope can you share your sweep experience for me. As I wimped out on Thursday for good reason (the ds and his epic nosebleed) Id really like to know how you feel after/at the time. Was it just uncomfortable or painful etc and how long it took. If no baby for me I get one on Wednesday... Thanks so much ladies!

mrsb87 · 28/09/2014 20:06

Of course I will. I'm not the squeamish type. I've never had a smear test before, they used a speculum to see if my waters had broken a week or so ago but I barely felt that. I guess the trick is to stay relaxed? I don't think it's going to be too uncomfortable.

binkybunny · 28/09/2014 20:08

I have the perineal massage oil but when I found out what it entailed I wimped out. It's just almond oil so using it as a massage oil instead.

Good luck mrsb and whoever is having a sweep tomorrow, hope it sets things off.

Just eating the biggest roast dinner (without the meat) and about to have sticky toffee pudding, I'm going to suffer with heartburn later!
