Anyone else around 5 weeks and ridiculously impatient?!

Do join me. About 5 weeks with #2, doctor's appointment not till Tuesday, feeling that anticlimactic feeling after the BFP where you realise that nothing now happens for a LONG time. Antenatal thread for May 2015 looks enormously full (my edd 27th May) but I'd like someone to chat too!

Hey, I am also about 5 weeks and due 27th May. I have had my first dr appointment but they only make sure you are taking folic acid and refer you to the midwife. Mine didn't even do a prego test and just believed me :) . Are you having any ache or pains? I keep having random ones here and there. Left then right. I wont believe it all until I have my first scan.

Daisy17 · 23/09/2014 16:52

Hi Claire! Thanks for replying. Yes, I am having random jabbing pains, and horrid spasms when I sneeze! I think it's normal but it makes me fret a bit. Is this your first?

Time never moves so slowly as between your BFP and your dating scan!

Claire1987bh · 23/09/2014 17:31

Yup its my first so I am super anxious! Is it your first? When are you going to start telling family and friends? I think we are waiting till we at least have our first app with the Midwife. Then I know all is ok.

tryingtocatchthewind · 23/09/2014 18:46

Oh I feel for you all, I'm 38 weeks and I hate to say it but it really does feel like a lifetime. The worst time is that wait for the first scan and then it goes very quickly to the next. Sadly it gets slow again after that.

TheJiminyConjecture · 23/09/2014 19:40

Me! I'm looking at an edd of 29th May with DC2.

I'm massively bloated and having stabby stretching pains.

I can't register with a midwife until about 8 weeks. I've booked an early scan for when 8 weeks for reassurance. Time is going sloooooooooow, I'm hoping to avoid HG this time. Ironically I keep worrying that I don't have strong enough symptoms because I haven't vommed yet!

KittyandTeal · 23/09/2014 19:43

Oooo exactly the same edd as me :) also number 2!

I've referred to MW just waiting till booking appointment but that doesn't happen till around 8 weeks here so got a long wait till anything happens.

I'm desperate to tell people too but I know it's not a good idea.

I'm shattered and started getting that hungry but sick feeling today. Not great with a toddler to deal with.

DinoSnores · 23/09/2014 20:35

trying, I'm 39 weeks with DC4 so wasn't going to tell them about it all slowing down again. I think I am just going to be pregnant forever!

Daisy17 · 23/09/2014 20:39

Yay, a gang! Sorry about the shabby pains but glad it's not just me. How old is the toddler, Kitty? I'm at work with DS in full time nursery, much easier than toddler taming all day, I salute you.

What is HG, Jiminy? Sorry to be dense.

Re telling people - last time and this I have told a few close friends and my mum very early on in a top secret way because I want to have someone to talk to should it not work out. I guess it depends on how private you'd want to be about such an eventuality? Very personal thing.

Hey can I join? I'm about 5 weeks with my second, EDD (by my working out) 24th May. I've been having some sciatic twinges in my back already, but that's it. I know I'll probably regret saying this, but I can't wait to FEEL pregnant!

Daisy17 · 23/09/2014 21:04

Of course, Amelia. I keep thinking that too but then I remember how grim I felt.....and last time it was during the summer holidays (I'm a teacher) whereas this time I'm going to be in the thick of the longest term. Bah!

Hi Tori, think I've seen you on the crowded May thread. Perhaps we should start a could be May could be June group?!

OP posts:
TheJiminyConjecture · 23/09/2014 21:32

Ha Daisy I'm a teacher too. Roll on half term! HG is Hyperemesis Gravidarum (sp) basically lots and lots of puke! I spent a lot of time on a drip getting rehydrated. Lost a couple of stone and the will to live. Hence waiting until DC is nearly 5 before ttc.

Anyone else trying really hard not to shop/pick names/get way ahead of themselves yet?Wink Wink

ameliarose2012 · 23/09/2014 21:34

How are we going to cope with toddlers to look after this time??? I remember last time all I did for the first trimester was work and sleep!

Daisy I'm not a teacher, but I do work in a school, so can be totally sympathetic to suffering through the longest term of the year! May is a bad time to go on mat leave too (I'm in year 6...)

TheJiminyConjecture · 23/09/2014 21:34

Sorry to hear you're feeling crappy Tori. so annoying that when you get pg you seem to catch anything going and then can't take anything to relieve it

Hugs, Tori. We'll all be rooting for you. X.

Just realised I opened this thread in antenatal, I meant it to be in pregnancy. Oops. Never mind. Do people fancy a title in AnteNatal like "Maybe May, Maybe June, 2015"?

Daisy17 · 23/09/2014 21:52

I am on the May thread but it's very busy and if #2 follows in #1's footsteps, it'll be June.....

Hello there, I had a mmc in July too, at 12 weeks, which was awful, but am very happy to be 4 + 5 today with hopefully a lovely new baby! My edd is 29th may, but my ds was 13 days late, so I would def think June!! So, anyway, hello everyone, and good luck to us all !! I also have an early scan, on 15th so am looking forward to that (and quietly terrified of course!) xx
