Butterpuff - with my first pregnancy, I never felt any movement until about 23 weeks. At my 20 wk scan, they said the placenta was right at the front. So baby had to kick extra hard before I felt it! Ds2 I felt movement before 12 weeks (I guess I knew what to expect) and this time at around 13-14 weeks. So I wouldn't worry, it's different every time!

MGFM - I had a really obvious line with ds1. It totally disappeared afterwards and never reappeared with ds2. This time we will have to wait and see! So don't worry, yours could completely vanish, never to return!

Today has been good (apart from a 15m wait in the rain for a bus!). Sickness pretty much gone (14+5), ds1 had a great third day at school and a fun music group with ds2. Hope those of you feeling grotty feel much better soon....

I've no news except I went for a curry last night got all excited and when I came out I couldn't eat it. Of all the food aversions why oh why carbs. I love peshwari nans! Why can't I eat normal food.
Fish just wanted to give (((hugs))) I've struggled with this pg as well as my other 3 pg have been the results of ttc for long long periods of time and this one is a complete accident. It's been very odd but actually really nice to be relatively relaxed this time round. Had a really tough time up till scan as couldn't get my head round it.
Lotsoftoast I haven't had my email invite. Just in case I wrote it down wrong my email is [email protected]

Rainbow555 · 15/09/2014 20:35

mg pretty sure I sm getting a line too!

fish sorry you are not feeling it! to be honest until the last week or so I was in a miserable place with feeling so rough that I just wanted it to stop too. It is starting to change now that I am feeling a bit better but I still have urges to buy anything and go shopping etc. I'm just taking it as it comes, I expect everyone feels different.

Lizardc · 15/09/2014 20:45

I am really really craving a (small!!) glass of white wine!!

Thoughts on small amounts post 12 weeks.....?

PickledPorcupine · 15/09/2014 20:51

I am totally against any alcohol at all lizard but I know some people do have the odd one.

MGFM · 15/09/2014 21:09

I have had one glass of wine and one glass of champagne over the last 15 weeks. I am going to a wedding at the 18 week point and I will have one glass of champagne then also. I think one every now and then is ok. Personal choice.

Guntons · 15/09/2014 21:15

hello I'm new on mumsnet
I'm due dc2 on 20/03/15
I have DS1 born 18/05/10

Lizardc · 15/09/2014 21:49

I had a very small glass, just enough to take the craving away! Feel much better now :)

Twittwooo · 15/09/2014 22:54

MG I got a line last time which completely disappeared afterwards, so yours might too. I didn't mind it, but glad it went after our daughter was born. After a long day of feeling really rubbish I had to force myself to do 2 or 3 hours of work tonight. Was feeling headachey, but otherwise not too bad until I got up from my desk and had to run for the toilet bowl to be sick. Didn't help that I'd been snacking on dried fruit and nuts (sorry!). When will the sickness go?? I've had quite enough now, thank you.

Twittwooo · 15/09/2014 22:55

I wish I could be at the point of craving wine! Or anything nice. Must stop moaning. I have a lot to be thankful for (and repeat).

pinkandstripey · 15/09/2014 23:10

Welcome guntons :)

Surfsup1 · 16/09/2014 03:00

Lizard, I actually don't know anyone IRL who totally gave up alcohol even for the first 3 months (unless MS forced the issue). Most of my friends and family would have had a couple of drinks per week all the way through and I don't know anyone who's ever had any issues as a result.

If you think about it, when your blood alcohol level is 0.05 (so after a couple of standard drinks) your blood has the same alcohol level as orange juice. Really not as bad as we sometimes imagine.
Each to their own, though - it's just one of the many many baby-realted decisions you'll have to make and realise that no matter what you choose someone will think you're mad! Wine Grin

kettlepot · 16/09/2014 06:59

Oh 3 I'd be gutted too. Love naans!

Got my 12 wk scan this morning - eek! Anyone know how you get a pic? Who do you ask, etc?

Twittwooo · 16/09/2014 07:04

Good luck kettle - we were just given a pic but it's worth asking as soon as you go in and they should let you know the situation at that particular hospital.

kittenmamma · 16/09/2014 07:48

Ladies on anti sickness tablets - I puked about 20 mins after taking mine this morning - do I take another one?

ToAvoidConversation · 16/09/2014 07:51

kettlepot they'll give you a few. Sometimes there is a donation box so take along a few quid if you feel like it.

ZebraZeebra · 16/09/2014 08:18

All caught up! Phew. Will add myself to the date list but 6/3 here.

Clothes are proper vexing me. I have a proper official bump now but I'm at that in between stage - too big for my normal clothes but maternity clothes are massive on me. I bought some maternity skinny jeans in a bigger size as I need them to last until the end but they keep falling down :(

On the plus side, did a wardrobe inventory - have 16-20 long line jumpers/long cardigans/sweater dresses to see me through to March. If only the weather would go cold. It's so hot here! I can't stand it. Fuck off summer! (Sorry, just fed up of being hot and uncomfortable and just want to slob around in big jumpers!)

With a big clear out I have somehow managed to free up an entire chest of drawers for new baby's things. This is amazing. Amazing.

Surfsup1 · 16/09/2014 08:59

3isthemajicnumber I just read your post and now I'm in desperate need of curry for dinner! This may be a new craving?!

My bump is also starting to look properly bumpy now and when I went for a surf this morning there was a distinct feeling of movement between me and the board! I think baby likes surfing (or hates it, but I'm going with the former!)

On a bitter-sweet note, my neighbours have just had a baby girl who has been born with down syndrome which they were unaware of until the birth. They are really struggling to cope with the shock, and probably with the guilt of having mixed emotions over the birth of their baby. I have no idea what to say to them. She's such a sweet little thing.

Anyway, I hope the MS-fairy arrives this week to collect everyone's MS. Lazy cow seems to be taking her time for some of you.

fishfingerSarnies · 16/09/2014 09:21

Hey every one,

Sorry to see so many of us feeling sick, I was feeling ok yesterday but feeling like crap again today. Not actually being sick so that's not too bad just feeling week and queezy.

I wasn't planning on getting a double buggy as my dd will be 2.7 when it's born but now thinking that I walk everywhere in London regularly walk 2 hours to get somewhere I night have to. Not sure what to do/can afford to do. Was thinking buggy board and slings but... What are other people doing, what age are your older siblings going to be when new one comes?
Any one had experience of a similar age gap?

ToAvoidConversation · 16/09/2014 09:30

Kitten I would only take another if you can see the tablet in your sick. I have pack up tablets if this happens for bad days.

3isthemajicnumber · 16/09/2014 09:45

Fish I had 3.4 between mine and managed fine with a buggy board. I think you need to weigh up how good your lo is at walking etc. defo a double for me this time. I'm thinking a nipper 360 or city jogger.

Welcome guntons

Have a good day all.

ZebraZeebra · 16/09/2014 09:46

fishfinger I'll have a toddler with a similar age and also in London. Going to try with baby in sling/DS still in buggy and then switch to buggy board. Really hoping I don't need to get a double pram. Really don't want one and I have a flight of stairs to get up!

pinkandstripey · 16/09/2014 09:54

Ill have 22 months between them, my buggy can have an extra seat added, but seeing how much he hates the buggy now (it takes a very long time to get anywhere!) I'm not sure what we'll do, whether we'll bother with a seat or just a buggy board. Decision to be made much nearer the time I think.

Ds has been a tantrummy pain in the bum this weekend, I'm exhausted :( nap times are a huge battle, but he's sleeping at night really well /touches wood. I dread to think how exhausted I'd be if he wasn't.

Midwife 16 week appointment this aft :) one step closer :)

Hope everyone has a good day xx

kittenmamma · 16/09/2014 09:58

Toavoid- it was over the sink as I was mid teeth-brushing. I feel hungover :( that's the only way I can think to describe it.

KeeperOfTheZoo · 16/09/2014 11:23

I'm having a woe-is-me day today too, and it actually isn't to do with nausea for a change.

Went to Center Parcs over the weekend with DH's family (an annual thing that we do). Had a lovely time despite not really being able to do many of the activities that I would normally do, but that really didn't bother me as it was just nice to be there and great to see DS having such a great time. However, DH managed to lose his wedding ring! Sad - he's absolutely gutted and has been in tears ore than once about it so I can't be angry about it, just upset for him and now have the hassle of trying to claim on the home insurance so that we can replace it.

Then yesterday afternoon we get home and are busy unpacking when the phone rings, and it's the estate agent who deals with another house that we own and rent out - that has been broken into so the door needs repairing/replacing as a matter of urgency as it's now 4:50pm and has been kicked in! Oh I can do without that!

Had an emergency repair done last night then sent our builder round today to sort a more permanent solution, to find out that it wasn't just a random burglar - it was another parent from the tenants' kid's school, angry after a row about parking spaces, so has followed them home, kicked the door in and fought with the father, calling him and his missus every racial name under the sun - all in front of their 2 very young children. I'm so angry on their behalf! What gets into these peoples' heads to think they have the right to do that to someone, especially in their own home.

Anyway, rant over, I'll just have to get on to the insurance company that we have for that house to sort that out too - I'm going to look really dodgy making claims on both property insurance policies on the same day, aren't I???
