Thought we'd better start a new thread, how many more will we get through before babies arrive??

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
gunwalloe · 10/09/2014 19:19

They've let me come home Smile BP came back down and protein and blood disappeared from urine trace was good was having Braxton hicks while I was hooked up it was interesting watching the effect they have on baby.

me23 they've not asked me to do any more samples. Can I ask you if nitrates and leucocytes are the same thing? I noticed on my notes that they've found nitrates in the ward sample.

Im under strict instructions to go back if I get any more visual disturbances or headaches if I don't get a phone call by 9pm tonight then the blood test was ok.

Pregnantagain7 · 10/09/2014 19:19

Oh and bump the way you're feeling is totally normal. I remember feeling exactly the same with my first and I knew I probably wouldn't be going back so I had no idea what my life would be like from then on. I soon got used to it though and the next year flew by :)

Pregnantagain7 · 10/09/2014 19:20

Great news gun :)

MrsBadCrumble74 · 10/09/2014 19:53

lou so sorry to hear your news. As someone has already said, pregnancy really seems to sort out the complete idiots from the stayers. I hope you get all the support you want and feel free to vent on here anytime Thanks huge hugs xx
To all of you in hospital - know you are getting the best care and monitoring for you and your baby. I hope everything goes fantastically well xx
me thanks for the link to care of the perineum. I had a 2nd degree tear last time which was a constant infective site.
We used the basic BT monitor with dd and found it worked brilliantly.
I have so much pressure down below - feel like a hand is going to pop out Shock Back hurts, back of legs hurt, BH, hips - whine whinge but trying to savour every last minute of this final pregnancy Smile
Hugs to all you ladies - we're nearly there and doing a fantastic job xx

binkybunny · 10/09/2014 20:03

Good news gun and hope your monitoring is going ok mrsb?

bump last week and Monday felt awful being on mat leave. I was quite fed up and weepy. Thankfully I have lots to do for the nursery and batch cooking, I have various antenatal classes this week then going to meet up with the antenatal class ladies for coffees etc over the next few weeks so I'm actually starting to enjoy my leave now! I'm also so tired that I'm just grateful not to have to work.

CellyD · 10/09/2014 20:06

Lou so sorry to hear your news. He's a complete idiot. I hope like others have said you have supportive family and friends around to help you.

Gun glad you are back home. CJ and Slide thinking of you.

Goats it sounds like you're having a really crap time at work. Fortunately on 1.5 days with the children and then you can escape to the office although escaping on to maternity leave probably sounds more appealing.

We are all nearly there, even if we're dragging ourselves to the finish line.

Lily31 · 10/09/2014 20:06

Goats I guess I'm not the only one with work hell... It's just such terrible timing and I just assumed that I would be treated better by other women, especially other mums. But it's not happened that way.

Time for GBBO. That should be distracting.

Kirstipops · 10/09/2014 20:22

Bumpforme I finished up work last week and I'm unlikely to go back too, I thought I'd be elated but I don't think it has sunk in yet, just feels like I'm on annual leave!

STIGZ · 10/09/2014 20:31

lily do you think your colleuges may be jealous about your maternity leave? ... What posseses people to make others feel like shit? So sorry your last few days are making you feel like crapSad

goats you will deffo not give work a second thought until its nearly the end of mat leave!

kittyvet · 10/09/2014 20:49

Wow you lot what a busy day! Hugs to everyone needing them. Second day on maternity leave, been busy and it hasn't sunk in yet! Unfortunately being self employed I know I will be going back 1st April whatever! Got to make the most of this time! Hope you all have a restful night- think after last night it's an early one for me!

Bumpforme2014 · 10/09/2014 20:55

Thanks for reassurance guys, glad it's not just me feeling odd about mat leave. It just doesn't seem real does it, because babies are not physically here it is just so odd thinking I won't be working for at least a year!

Kirstiepops are you going to be a full time mum then?

Think I'm just still tired, I have so much to do next week including hospital appointments and antenatal classes think I will feel better once all that kicks in and am in nesting mode, just transition bit that's hard.

mum2kiss · 10/09/2014 20:59

So I sent my boss an email today saying that I want to bring my mat leave start date forward to next Friday. ..honestly I could start today but I guess i can manage one more week!

SlideIn · 10/09/2014 21:18

I'm now home too! Grin Thank you all for thoughts, it was nice to read once I'd come home and had a snooze. Similar to you gun, though my protein is still there my BP stayed borderline so I've been allowed to leave provided I go in every few days for tests and immediately if I develop any further symptoms. been warned not likely to go full term. CJ I'm 36+1 and was in fear of being induced today but the health/ability to cope of the baby wasn't in question with the staff I spoke to today; they were of the opinion I was so near to term (which is a somewhat arbitrary measurement anyway) that the baby would be fine. You're in the best place, is someone with you now?

Me23 · 10/09/2014 21:25

Glad things have settled gun bet you're glad to be home. Nitrates are more indicative of a urine infection than leucocytes are did they send it off to check? If I find nitrates then it usually comes back with a uti those only once or twice it didn't.

Lots of Braxton hicks tonight. I'm having blood taken tomorrow to see if my iron levels have improved any more. I hope they have as I can only stomach 2 iron tablets a day not the 3 I should be taking. I'm still feeling quite weak and breathless but a lot better than I was at 28 weeks when hb was only 8.5

Me23 · 10/09/2014 21:29

slide glad you are home too, hope things stay settled for you.

bump motherhood is a massive change and adjustment your whole world changes they way you are feeling is completely normal. I took quite a while to adjust to the change when I had my first.

Kirstipops · 10/09/2014 21:34

Yep Bump I think so, haven't told my work this though :-O Just planning to see how the year goes, but it's not a job I'm dying to go back to, the commute and hours suck and seeing how grudging they are with "flexibility" for my colleagues who are sprogged up, I think if I had an even slightly sickly child I'd find it quite stressful having them to deal with! A part time job closer to home would be better, plus I'd like to maybe have another kid in a couple of years. It was actually DH who suggested i ditch so I don't feel too guilty at the prospect! He just wants me to write a blockbusting best seller while I'm off hehe.
Slide and Gun, glad you're home!

BadgerInBury · 10/09/2014 21:38

I'll be so glad when this full moon madness wears off. Just had horrible evening with DP, who is in a completely unjustifiable and out of character bad mood. Trying so hard to be patient and not kick off at him but hormones are raging and if I bite my tongue much longer there'll be no tongue left...

mrsb87 · 10/09/2014 21:47

I'm home too, I had a ctg as babyB has been pretty quiet all day despite my haribo eating and coffee drinking! Heart rate all okay, my temperature was up and protein in my urine so that's being checked. If baby is still quiet in the morning I will go back for more tests etc tomorrow afternoon. I've had a warm bath and I'm going to have a early night and hope babyB wakes me up with the usual squirming I'm used to! It's so weird not having the usual rolls, tickles and bum pushes I'm used to Confused

Grannyapple · 10/09/2014 21:50

loulou...what a complete tosser! Focus on your kids & baby & hope you have some amazing friends who can help out too!

gun excited glad to hear you've got home. slide hope you're ok too.

7 days of work left..2 & a bit weeks..can't wait to finish up!

Having major braxton hicks tonight...praying it's just practice as I haven't packed a bag yet...

Re: care for stitches...I had 2nd degree tears both times (1st time was borderline 3rd degree...I remember having to clench while an OB stuck a finger up my bum to check Blush). But advice I've had both times which worked a treat was 1. wee whilst in the shower if you can as area will get cleaned then too...2. when not in shower, wet some loo roll to dab down there after weeing. 3. Have a daily bath with lavender oil..helps healing as well as aiding your sleep (quality vs quantity & all that). 4. Oh & dry your bits with a hairdryer after shower/bath as can save any irritation/uncomfortableness drying with a towel.

Off for a shower & bed...after I've emptied tumble dryer of the newborn babygros & put the mused basket cover/sheets/blanket etc in there!

gunwalloe · 10/09/2014 21:54

me23 im not 100% sure I know the one with the protein was sent of not sure about the one taken on the ward. On my discharge print out it says investigations required mssu,u+e,lft, fbc, uric acid, upcr and PET blood results awaited. Can you decipher what it means?

I hope your bloods come up ok tomorrow

gunwalloe · 10/09/2014 21:56

Thanks for all the well wishes ladies I was in a panic when they whisked me up to the ward so was relieved when the BP started coming down. I will now be packing my bag just incase.

Bumpforme2014 · 10/09/2014 22:01

Oh that's good kirstiepops, must be nice knowing that you have options. I'm in similar situation in that my job just isn't family friendly in terms of hours and commute and also seen them say no to others requests for part time.

My hormones are just all over the place at moment and at times I want to kill DH, especially just now as he has become obsessed with the yes/no campaign and is actually getting stressed at the thought of Scotland being independent! He is Scottish but very proud to be british lol he talks about nothing else when we are about to go through a huge life change ourselves!

binkybunny · 10/09/2014 22:11

bump this Indpendence vote is stressing me out too. TH's company have already said they aren't sure if they'll keep the Scottish branch if a yes vote and I know a few others who's husband's companies are the same. At least we know we can move south and DH should have a job down there but don't like uncertainty at the moment with everything else!

ohthegoats · 10/09/2014 22:12

Will catch up properly, but just read a few emails.

6 women at my NCT class. So far, 3 C-sections - all planned in advance. One woman is 40+10 with induction booked for Saturday, and then the remaining two of us aren't due for another couple of weeks. THREE C-sections.. that's quite a lot isn't it.

gunwalloe · 10/09/2014 22:18

goats where they all planned due to previous cs?
