dor hope you're feeling a bit better. The garden sounds like a lovely tribute to your mum.

I am on a mission to get MiniWinks to nap better in the day. I have unintentionally been letting her get overtired in the day, and as a result she has been getting in a vile temper and refusing to feed when I've tried to settle her.

Dor I hope you're feeling a bit better today. Obviously you are going to find the next few days/weeks difficult. Do what you need to do to get through it. I agree that the garden sounds like a wonderful tribute.

Bugs, that feeling never goes away!

One week to go till HWHNN gets home Grin

eurochick · 22/09/2014 17:13

bugs I'm taking the pregnacare breastfeeding vits. Sorry to hear about the shitty neighbours. The council environmental health people might be a help if the garden is properly full of shit.

I still look at C and marvel that I have one of those proto human things. It doesn't seem real a lot of the time.

frank that's brilliant. It feels to me like it has whizzed by. I hope it hasn't dragged for you.

dor that sounds really tough. Is the Big Mister stepping up?

C has a slight tongue tie, but my midwife didn't think it was an issue as she can (and frequently does) stick her tongue right out, and can latch on correctly when the mood takes her. And my mw has a sideline in snipping tongue ties so I'm sure she wouldn't have hesitated to tell me if it was a problem.

I took C for her first weigh in at the HV clinic today as the midwife has signed me off. She is 7lb14 at nine and a half weeks, up from 7lb at 8 weeks. She's doing well. And is finally filling out the newborn size clothes that have been sitting there for ages waiting for her to get big enough for them. I'm really pleased. We had a lovely wander through the park on the way back from the clinic, for an al fresco feed and nappy change (waving the mini foof at south london).

Alwight Hags.

Glad HWHNN is v almost back frank. And bugs, you seem to be enjoying late pregnancy more now work is out the way!

Things good here. Results through and doesn't seem to be cancer after all. Still need to see more experts and need more tests (on the tumour and GHJ), but looks to be a v v v rare (1 in a million, literally) non cancer growth. Can come back, and that can still be bad news, but he's going to be scanned at intervals so it can be picked up early. Today is a good day. Think we might open a bottle of champagne left over from R's birth..

FrankelandFilly · 22/09/2014 18:52

Oh Sinks that's amazing news! I'm so happy for you. Obviously it's not great that he'll need monitoring and more checks, but thanks be to the mighty ESH gods that it's not cancer.

Drink that champagne girl, you thoroughly deserve it Grin

FriendofDorothy · 22/09/2014 20:05

Ging how did it go with E?

GingerScouse · 23/09/2014 10:44

Excellently thanks merk, no tongue tie but he released her lip tie. Latch is instantly better, not perfect, but better.

bugs I understand but I would say in my - and dor's experience - growth scans can be fairly inaccurate. It sounds like your consultant is pretty knowledgeable, try to trust him if he's not worried!

SinkyMalinks · 23/09/2014 18:03

And mine - R was meant to be an enormo-baby, but he was a distinctly average 7.14 (or dinky given he was 2 weeks overdue). They're keeping an eye which might mean an early arrival, but will keep buglet safe.

FriendofDorothy · 23/09/2014 22:34

Don't stress. Go with the flow and what will be will be.

All will be fine :)

Fankletastic · 24/09/2014 11:30

Sounds like yet more menkul Bugs but try not to fret too much and get yourself wound up. Wot the CRESH said...they know best. (what does the CR stand for again?) Blush

I've not posted much lately but all is well with me. Fanklet is moving around lots now, much to my relief (turns out I do have an anterior placenta so that's why I hadn't felt much movement until about 3 weeks ago). I had a look in the shops at the weekend at all the baby stuff. My goodness, it is mind-boggling! It only felt right to buy stuff for me so I bought some big pants, pull up opaques (maternity tights...just yuk) and a new bra (F CUP WTF?) and some fab leggings/trouser things from Topshop's maternity section for £20 (I can only describe them as being like jodpurs *sp). I now intend to live in them. How's everyone else?

Can I ask about practical stuff like prams/buggies, car seats, cribs, breast pumps etc? What did everyone get? It's like I just don't have a clue but I want to do this sensibly (whatever that is) and not spend a fortune. I'm liking the Snuzpod bedside crib and the Silver Cross Pioneer travel system (because it has a carrycot, sturdy wheels for walks and looks lovely in all the vibrant colours, but perhaps it is slightly on the large side. It's also cheaper than the Uppababy Vista, which I like too). Other than that I feel incapable of deciding between the vastness of choice out there when it comes to everything else. It's TOO MUCH for my brain right now! Any recommendations and tips on how to sift through the necessaries from the 'unnecessaries' would be muchly appreciated.

Fanks hags

Fankle it depends on so much! Like I had a limited choice of travel system because I have a small boot. Bought the Babystyle oyster and was really happy with it. We had a Moses basket but if we have another I would get a bed side crib. Car seat often comes on offer with the travel system so it all fits. Breast pump - I would wait until you get feeding established. I got a Philips one after it was recommended by Kat. One step at a time. I gradually started buying clothes (you will probably only need vests and sleep suits). We bought the travel system when I was about 25 weeks. Wipe warmers are unnecessary! :)

Fankletastic · 24/09/2014 17:06

Thanks ladies. You are talking The Sense. I will do an essentials list and keep a look out for those offers. Bugs where did you buy your Uppababy from? What colour (if that is not too nosey?) How do you feel about its size and weight? I really like it but MG thought it looked mahoosive for me (I'm not quite 5ft 4...but almost!). It has lots of nice extras and seems quite luxurious. The Silver Cross is similar but slightly smaller and with fewer extras..but I still really like it.

Think I will order the Snuzpod as at least I feel certain about that. Then I must think about moving out of my office and turning it into a nursery. I fear a big clear out is ahead.

Bugs pleased to hear the menkul is at bay for once.
