Seriously bugs you don't know how lucky you are! I have had one night away without kids since The Little Mister was born!

Lucky you! In which case I definitely don't expect to hear about complaints of tiredness in the next few days!!

FrankelandFilly · 10/11/2014 19:25

Definitely lucky you Bugs! My one night away from E so far was due to being in hospital with my abscess Sad HWHNN has promised me a spa day as I "let him" have a drunken night out with his friends Wink. I did go out for dinner with my bestie the other week, but I was driving so couldn't drink.

TheOriginalWinkly · 10/11/2014 20:50

Likewise, I had a night away from MiniWink in A&E. The treatments were effective but not wildly relaxing, I wouldn't recommend it for a longer break Grin No time away is one of the downsides of EBFing a bottle refuser.

We're home now from our trip, she was an absolute sweetheart the whole time but what sleep routine we had going is shot to shit. She's just waking up now from her 'nap' that started around 5pm, those normally last about half an hour to tide her over until bedtime at 7ish, oh dear...

Oh dear.

I go out to choir for an hour and a half and return to find The Mister with s grumpy unsettled baby.

The Mister has a face like thunder and now I feel guilty for going out!

katandkits · 10/11/2014 21:17

Don't feel guilty, i bet she grumps for you often enough, you are just sharing the grumpy love.

Night away, what's that? I had mine at A&E as well. Intravenous pain killers were quite relaxing, I have to say. I have no bottle refuser but with expressing 2 bottles 4 days a week, it just doesn't seem worth doing another two (just in case) for a night off. Also popping him onto me is way quicker. I have had dinner out a few times, leave home lots to work and even have drunk a bit when lembie didn't demand feeding at 11pm for a while

TheOriginalWinkly · 11/11/2014 16:08

I could go for some iv painkillers today. My right boob is a fiery ball of pain. And why isn't the word spelt 'firey'?

Sorry to hear that, winks. Mastitis can come on and get bad really quickly so don't mess about if you start feeling ropey.

Bugs, I love a hot stone massage. Mmmmm.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 12/11/2014 21:15

Yes, I second that, get yourself to a gp as soon as you feel bad. It landed me in hospital as you know!

TheOriginalWinkly · 13/11/2014 09:01

Thanks hags. Fortunately it seems to have just been blocked ducts, I gritted my teeth and fed through the (sickening) pain and its more or less ok now.

Hot stone massage sounds amazing.

Does that mean he is home in the day instead?

When The Mister worked shifts we made sure that we went out in the day and did nice things together. In some ways it was quite nice.

Bugs you are not useless, this stage is bloody hard work but it will get better and easier. They always seem to behave better for other people. Is she crying after feeding? She might be trying to tell you she wants more? Just keep telling yourself that crying is the only way a baby can communicate with you so she will cry about everything. It took me a long time to get my head round the fact that E was not crying because I'd done something wrong/she hated me, she was trying to communicate her needs.

In the nicest possible way GP might have to consider giving up a few things in order to pull his weight at home with P. Don't believe anyone who tries to tell you that things can carry on exactly as they were before a baby!

Teatime if horrendous. At the moment I often have a screaming baby and a whining toddler hanging off my leg!

I realised early on that I feel a lot better if I get a chance for a quick shower. I tend to put The Little Miss in the bouncy chair in the bathroom and if she screams then that's fine for a few minutes.

TheOriginalWinkly · 14/11/2014 17:55

bugs L went through a phase of pulling off the breast, screaming, bobbing back on for a few sucks, repeat until I wanted to cry. In her case I think it was over tiredness, could that have been a possibility after a busy weekend for her, out of her home and routine etc? Also, L sometimes cries when she just wants to be put down and left the fuck alone for a few minutes. The evenings on your own are rubbish when they're really small, it always drags for me when HWCA is on a late.
