Firstly, you won't have broken her - they're resilient little creatures.

Secondly, don't beat yourself up about snapping, we've all done it. I did it last night in fact E has a rotten cold and she just would not stop crying and screaming in my ear and I admit that I lost my temper a bit and raised my voice to her. If you feel the anger rising, just put her down somewhere safe and leave the room. Just counting to ten can make a big difference.

It's not great, but you will learn to live with the tiredness. Just take every opportunity you can to rest.

How are things today bugs? With any luck, your mum will be offended and leave you alone for a few days.

frank is E feeling better? Hope today has gone well!

draf how is the calf? Any updates on her weight? She looks so bright eyed and happy in all the pics :)

Friends with similar aged babies are a godsend. You realise you are not alone! :) glad you had a good day. Sorry to hear about your Mum bugs. Have you considered that she might have narcissistic personality disorder? My Mum had traits and I see some similarities...

There's a great book called You're not crazy, it's your mother which explains the behaviour and reasoning behind someone with NPD. They key thing to remember is she believes she's perfect. That's why she's withdrawn following your criticism. How date you tell her she's wrong when she's perfect?! The book gives advice on how to handle a relationship with a mum with NPD. I think it would help, especially now you have a daughter of your own.

Glad things are seeming a bit easier Bugs, though sorry to hear your mum is still causing you grief. You must do what is right for you and P now, and if that means minimising contact with your mum that so be it.

Yesterday went well Winks, thanks for asking. E seemed to really enjoy her day at nursery, they said she'd been really happy and laughing all day with absolutely no tears! Only issue was that she refused to drink any milk with them, though she did have some food at lunch and tea time. I think it's just her cold making it difficult to suck as she's being fussy with her milk with me today too. Work was good too, nice to be back in a weird way and I actually feel more like the old men today, if you know what I mean. One day a week will cut ally be really nice for the next few months and it also means I get to ease E into the nursery environment, though it doesn't look like she'll have any problems adjusting!

I know it's none of my business, and I'm an intruder on the thread, but this just appeared in active threads, and I'd love someone to tell me what PESH means? Pretty please!

I've wondered for ages, and asked several times, but to no avail.

katandkits · 04/11/2014 11:56

This is the graduates from the BESH freds in conception. The Barren Evil Selfish Hags. 30s ttc'ers who according to the daily mail are too old and wizened to win a baybee apparently due to our glittering lucrative careers. Most of us found it a long hard road to get successfully up the duff due to either infertility or miscarriages.

MrsMcRuff · 04/11/2014 12:07

Ah! It's all become clear, now. thanks!
Bloody Daily mail, btw. Angry

MsJupiter · 04/11/2014 18:15

Good news here hags. Initially the sonographer could only see an empty sac so I was expecting the worst but my old friend dildocam saved the day and we saw our tiny dot. I am 6w so expecting a new Eshlet at the end of June.

Bugs you aren't the first or last person to have a moment of frustration that you regret later. It is so hard. Make sure you are taking care of yourself and as the others said step away when you need to. If things get very bad ask for help. But it sounds like you are having the normal ups and downs of new motherhood. Normal being a very relative term... It's a very very strange time.

ALittleFaith · 04/11/2014 19:25

:) congratulations dor!

Fankletastic · 05/11/2014 09:07

Congratulations MsJ! How old is eshlet #1?

And congrats to Dor too Smile

What's gripe water Bugs? Blush

I'm still achy in the ribs and arse but the pain is a lot less. Just annoyed about missing my Pilates and yoga classes. Thinking I might try aqua natal on Friday...

Frankel glad you're happy with your return to work. 1 day a week for a few months sounds pretty ideal. Work has appointed my replacement so I really feel on the countdown now - 4 weeks left after this week, and 2 of those will be handover. So I feel like I've got lots to tie up and prepare in just 2 weeks! Eek. I've pretty much decided I'm not returning to work (well, to this job as it's pretty full on with quite a lot of travel, home working and responsibility, and I don't think I will want to work from home and feel isolated/ stuck indoors. Time for a change)!
