And I tried to cheat by doing a sleeve with DPNs instead of knitting it flat and it hasn't worked, so I'll have to do it again. Grumble!
And the baby is having some sort of Lucozade disco in there.

espa · 22/09/2014 09:55

DH is happy enough for us to have it sitting in the garage until December so will order our vouchers today then order in a couple of weeks. Would be nice if they offered something similar without having the baby plan thing.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 22/09/2014 10:31

Oh great, 45 minute wait for the bus. I used to have therapy at this hospital and have spent hours waiting for buses here. Gosh I'm a moody cow today.

espa · 22/09/2014 11:50

Just signed up for the Mothercare expectant mother event in a couple of weeks as I discovered there will be 10% off purchases on the night. I love a good saving!

ffallada · 22/09/2014 11:57

Hello ladies,

Its been a while since I looked in - I think it was before the 20 week scan. Hope everyone is well.

I'm rumbling up to 29 weeks and FAT - the biggest I've ever been and I don't care!

Is anyone else playing with their bump? My DH thinks its cruel, but when the baby kicks me, I often poke it so it kicks back in the same spot. (hope im not the only one)

SassehMonsta · 22/09/2014 13:25

ffallada, glad to see you again, wondered where you had sloped off to! Yes, I am totally, totally playing with bump all the time - pushing it around as well! Saturday morning I pushed it/moved it out of my side, and felt a shoulder where my belly button is - creeeeepy.

BHLS - that's one of the first things I did when it came in at 14 weeks! Daft, but I had to know ;)

Those who are team yellow, have you any feeling towards one or the other? I've been undecided for weeks, but this week its most definitely a girl in my brain...

Chipandspuds · 22/09/2014 13:49

I was originally convinced that I'd be having a girl but now I'm starting to think the baby is a boy...I'm looking forward to my midwife appointment next week so I can check the baby's heartbeat, last time a midwife told me she thought I was having a boy because of the heartbeat and was right! It would definitely be easier for us to have another boy as we only have a 2 bedroom flat, and I can imagine having another boy for DS to play cars with! I'd be happy to have a girl too though so I could have fun with buying new clothes and toys!

Is anyone else absolutely starving? I feel like all I can think about is food! I've had two bowls of cereal this morning, two slices of toast with peanut butter, two carrots with hummus, bag of wotsits and a bowl of porridge so far. I will have some fruit later and either spaghetti bolognese or chilli con carne for dinner with lots of vegetables. I'm going to try to stop eating chocolate as I've been eating so much and I'm just being greedy Blush

Just got home and flopped into bed. I forgot that I'd need to get two buses home, and had to pop into work to use the toilet in between, and got sucked into all sorts of conversations. Three volunteers are leaving this week = major logistical headache, though I am happy for them individually. My manager also wants me to go to a meeting in the seaside town I spent my holiday at last week, on Wednesday. I can't be arsed! Besides I might have to work on Wednesday morning now due to volunteer leaving. Blah.

If by team yellow you mean am I weeing constantly again, then yes, I am a member. Also because I don't know what sex I'm having ;) at the beginning I felt strongly that it was a boy, but I seem to have changed in my head to thinking of it as a girl. The latest cardigan I've knitted is slightly more feminine though, so that could be why.
I also mess with my bump! DH said I was cruel the other day when I held my phone speakers to it whilst pumping Rammstein to try to make it move. I have been poking back when it pokes outwards too, but no response yet.

DecaffTastesWeird · 22/09/2014 16:05

Hi all - hope you don't mind me joining?

I am coming up to 29 weeks and also felt for ages that we were definitely having a boy. Now I can't decide! Part of me kind of wishes we'd found out now Hmm

CatFaceCrayola · 22/09/2014 16:42

Glad I know we're having a girl. Although I regularly have moments of "what if she's actually a boy!!" panic!

On top of my generally aching back and weird back twinges I now seem to have acquired "lightning crotch". Constant moans, groans, eehs and oohs.

Chipandspuds · 22/09/2014 16:55

I'm definitely on a countdown to having this baby now! I'm fine most of the time but I'd like to be able to pick DS up a bit more...had to pick him up earlier to forcibly get him indoors as he was refusing to come indoors! I'd also like to be able to get my shoes on without huffing and puffing too!

DH decided that we should potty train DS (second attempt), I'm actually quite surprised (and happy) that we're on day three and he's managed two wees in the potty and no accidents! I'm just hoping that he will be fine at nursery tomorrow - everything crossed! Bit nervous about it tbh!

30+3

stationaryace · 22/09/2014 18:37

30+1 today :)

Back to the mat hospital for the GD clinic tomorrow afternoon, that'll be dull but an afternoon skive off work.

Apparently first time mums are more likely to think it's a girl, I have no idea what this one is going to turn out to be, other than a night owl.

Peace, love Rammstein on the phone, my OH keeps playing loud music when we're in the car saying the baby will have to get used to it. I poke my bump too and get told off by OH for doing it.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 22/09/2014 18:59

Ahaha baby is visibly wriggling and turning but every time I pull my trousers down to look, it stops Hmm

ffallada · 22/09/2014 19:02

Great to know Sasseh, I shall continue to push my wee boy around then - he's an active wee bugger :)

I found out I was having a boy - I would have bet everything on having a girl - so have concluded that my instincts are just rubbish.

Stationary I have also been playing Rammstein and singing along with the hope the bubs likes it. I worry that the noise he will most recognise in the world is the dog barking and instead of talking start barking himself.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 22/09/2014 19:35

Imagining all our babies doing Till Hammering inside us Grin

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 22/09/2014 19:46

Rammstein here too...

I have a scan tomorrow afternoon then another next tues, GD clinic on Fridays. I may as well move in to the Womens!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 22/09/2014 19:47

Are your scans for growth related to the GD BHLS?

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 22/09/2014 19:48

Catface, I have the same fear! I am expecting a girl. I have identified with a girl, I think about her as a girl! I might have to start convincing myself she's a boy, just in case.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 22/09/2014 19:51

I'm being scanned every two weeks from here on in due to GD and my BMI. Tomorrows is a rescan feom last weeks as they detected too much fluid. (literally 0.3 units over what they consider normal so the rescan box has been ticked).

How was it today? Did you end up starving and ragey? Have you heard from them?

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 22/09/2014 20:37

No I haven't heard from them yet, did you hear same day? I was very hungry and ragey, and it took me four hours to get home >: (
Scans are always really painful for me - hope you're not too bruised!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 22/09/2014 20:49

Yeah I heard the same evening but they said if I hadn't heard within 48 hours then I was in the clear. Hopefully if you've not heard its good news. This is getting to me massively now because it's just one more thing to worry about and to curtail. Pregnancy cake helps with pregnancy... sob!

I always see one of two sonographers, one of whom is brilliant, the other one is overenthusiastic with the gel and with the pressing... I've seen the good one the last few times so have been happy.

Both the insides of my elbows are ragged at the moment I've had so much blood taken recently. When I went last week I needed to get teh 28 weeks bloods done.Pointed out that the inside of my elbows was really sore... both nurses, two consultants and the anaestetist I saw regarding labour anasthetic looked at the back of my hand and pointed out I had amazingly good veins there. Nurse took blood from there and absolutely massacred me. The whole of the back of my left hand is purple still! :(

monkeybaby2 · 22/09/2014 20:58

Peace my one with DD had no fasting level bloods taken and I was also instructed to buy and consume lucozade at specific time after fasting. Then my mw turned up at my house at 10, took bloods and job done. Much more civilised way of doing the test IMO than having to show up at hospital and sit there bored for two hours like this time!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 22/09/2014 22:46

Monkey she came to your house?! Such service! Grin

BHLS (and anyone else) if anyone ever tries to take blood from the inside of your wrist, RUN AWAY. It was one of the most painful things I've ever experienced Confused

CatFaceCrayola · 22/09/2014 23:22

I have nothing useful to report I just want to whinge about how crappy I'm feeling. I feel sick and have stomach ache (please don't be getting DHs bug!), my back is sore, I feel utterly pathetic/hopeless/useless hobbling about on crutches and I just feel down in the dumps. Having a definite "I can't do this" day. It feels like there is no end in sight. Yes in however many weeks I'll stop being pregnant but then I'll have a baby. And if I cope with motherhood as well as I've coped with pregnancy than we're all screwed

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 22/09/2014 23:39
