I'm on ondansetron and cyclizine. Ondansetron is the strongest anti sickness med...doesn't always work for me though.

Now starting 4th bag of fluid, will be in for another 24 hours. Needle is in back of hand do comfortable. No sleep at all unfortunately...very busy ward last night :-(

ZebraZeebra · 10/09/2014 09:22

Oh Durham that is so incredibly tough :( You're being very brave. I can't remember - is this your first? Really hoping it somehow clears up soon - have they said anything about it ending or continuing?

DurhamRed · 10/09/2014 10:08

Yep, it's my first baby...second admission to hospital for hg. They said it should ease up by 14 weeks (i'll be 13 weeks tomorrow) I'm hoping that's true but I'm feeling so awful at the moment I can't see an end to it yet. Though the last time I was admitted there was another lady with hg who said hers ended at 18 weeks, she was pregnant with her 4th and had hg with all of them!! I don't know how she coped!

Butterpuff · 10/09/2014 10:14

I cant believe you are still feeling so bad Durham really hope it starts to ease off for you soon. I could barley cope with my non HG MS so I cant imagine what you are going through. If it helps at all I thought there would be no end to mine then suddenly I realised it was gone. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that 14 really is the magic week.

theonewiththenoisychild · 10/09/2014 11:09

hope you feel better soon durham Thanks

well my scan went ok. if a little confusing. they found baby ok he/she is very active litterally bouncing around in there. so much they couldnt get a good look. but very healthy heartbeat. then she called in someone else for a second opinion because she found 2 sacks. but both are intact so they dont think there was ever a baby in the other sack. however my hormones are growing the sack at the moment. they say that when my body realises the sack will either be dissolved or i will have a bleed and pass the sack. in which case i need to go in so they can check on baby. my body is officially messed upConfused

Butterpuff · 10/09/2014 11:21

Oh theone that is confusing. Great news that baby is ok, and wriggling about happily. Smile Odd about the other sack though hope its not going to worry you.

theonewiththenoisychild · 10/09/2014 11:31

butterpuff from what i can figure out its a non identical twin pregnancy that only produced 1 baby . my body and hormones are still acting as if theres twins but only 1 twin is there. its all very strang but im pleased that baby is so healthy

ChristinaYang · 10/09/2014 11:44

Pint & Clueless so very sorry for your losses, it's so shit and unfair, take care of yourselves Thanks

Durham I can't imagine what you're going through, I hope you start to feel some relief in the next few weeks x

theone could it be that she deleted herself from facebook? Or can you see she's still there but not friends with you? Very strange because she could easily hide your posts from her newsfeed without you knowing or maybe even block you then you couldn't see her but deleting you is like she wants you to know she's annoyed with you! Don't feel guilty x

AFM I have my 12 week scan on Friday morning. Excited and scared!

arob100 · 10/09/2014 12:49

Took me a whole week to catch up there but I eventually done it!

So sorry to hear some of you guys bad news, mmc are the worst and so very unexpected.

I've been terrible for the last few weeks the ms seems to have stopped (apart from the odd day here and there) but the headaches and exhaustion is crippling. Suppose we are growing tiny people inside us, so it can't all be fun and games.

15+1 and Oct 14th can't come quick enough for my 20 week scan.

Lunchtime dog walk done and the sun is out in Scotland so back to work I go.

Xx

theonewiththenoisychild · 10/09/2014 12:50

christina no she is still there she has deleted me off her list. all her posts were showing on my news feed until very recently. i went on her facebook page yesterday and it said add friend instead of friends at the top thats how i realised she has deleted me. im just going to forget about it and if she gets in touch eventually i will see what she has to say then.

ToAvoidConversation · 10/09/2014 13:58

Durham that's exactly my concoction too :-(

Back of the hand does hurt. Today's the first day my bruises have gone and my last admission was 2 weeks ago :-(

Where you on ondan and cyclizine before your admission? I'm almost 12 weeks and it's definitely has made a huge difference although still sick sometimes.

Have you come over to the HG support thread yet?

whohasnickedmyvodka · 10/09/2014 15:08

Hi can I come and join you all please I am 13 weeks today I'm due a cvs tomorrow as I have a 1 in 3 chance of downs I have a ds16 and a dd8 this one was a surprise as I have only been with my dp 5 months

DurhamRed · 10/09/2014 16:01

ToAvoid I can't seem to take cyclizine or any other anti sickness meds orally as it makes the sickness worse. Ondansetron works lovely via iv but not always orally, so sickness is pretty much constant (good days and bad). Consultant on last admission considered moving me onto steroid treatment which is the next step up...but we'll see. My last admission was around 4/5 weeks ago where i was discharged feeling much better. I just got progressively worse again. I'm seriously hoping it abates soon!

Haven't looked at the hg thread yet, i keep meaning to.

Lizardc · 10/09/2014 16:07

So sorry to hear you are having a tough time
Durham. I really hope it eases up for you soon. I also found 'normal' morning sickness hard enough, without anything more!

Arob, I'm 14 weeks and same as you - sickness has (mostly) gone but still tired and very headachy. 20 week scan on 22 October for me.

Welcome Whohasnicked! Ooh really good luck with your CVS tomorrow. I had the amniocentesis with ds1, although a much lower risk than yours (1 in 127) and it was worrying, so I hope yours is ok. Can you get the results nice and quickly?

ToAvoidConversation · 10/09/2014 16:09

You should, the advice these ladies can give is amazing.

You've got is bad if Odansetron isn't helping. You poor thing. Really hope they find something for you.

There are people who've experienced steroid bases treatment on the other thread that may be able to help more.

whohasnickedmyvodka · 10/09/2014 16:11

Hi lizard I should have my results back by Monday or Tuesday I had a a nuclear fold of 6.2 at my scan yesterday so every thing has been called huge whirlwind

smokeandglitter · 10/09/2014 16:51

Coastergirl, I can't breastfeed either due to psych Meds and know I can't reduce them. Don't worry, we know why we're doing it. I've been v upset about it but at the end of the day there's nothing I can do so now trying to look at the pluses.

So sorry pint and clueless. Thinking of you, whohasnicked, and theone with friend difficulties.

Had my scan and baby seems healthy as far as you can tell at this stage. Heartbeat and measured for new due date to be 21st march!

lotsoftoast · 10/09/2014 17:47

So sorry to hear the sad news from the past few days - lots of love to you both

We're just back from a wee holiday - and our new mattress arrived today too. V happy about this - I forsee a v early bedtime!

Back from scan and all good! Phew! Huge relief! Now I have to start thinking about telling work (where I haven't even been working for two weeks...)

whohasnicked good luck with your CVS tomorrow.

durham fingers crossed your hg will get better soon. I can't even imagine how you must be feeling!

KeeperOfTheZoo · 10/09/2014 18:00

Glad your scans went well, if a little confusing Pink and theone.

Mine was all good news this morning, although I had to go out and drink 2 more cups of water and wait another half hour before she could get the NT measurement as baby wasn't playing ball. Wouldn't have minded except yesterday I couldn't keep even sips of water down and 2 cups is more than I've drunk in the last 2 days! Oh well, got there in the end Grin.

The only strange thing is though is that she kept saying everything was fine with the baby, which obviously we were pleased about - it was only when I got to work that I actually read the printed report and discovered that I apparently have a cyst on my ovary measuring nearly an inch! I presume it makes no difference to this pregnancy and is nothing to worry about but it would have been nice for her to mention it to me Shock.

Durham hope you're feeling better soon - I had an horrendous time Monday night/Tuesday where I couldn'[t even keep a sip of water down and I was very close to going in for rehydration myself, but that was only for 24hrs or so - I can't imagine how you're feeling Flowers.

DurhamRed · 10/09/2014 20:17

Thank you everyone for your kind words of support. I know there are others who are suffering from severe ms too.

Keeper I have been unable to hold down any food/fluid for the past 4 days. You get to a point when you know enough is enough. If you feel you're dehydrated then definitely get checked out by your Dr or in A&E. Dr will check for ketones in your urine which will indicate dehydration. If you have ketones you'll be admitted for iv fluids.

Dr's have now decided to try different combinations of regular anti sickness meds to see if 1) I can keep them down (i tender to throw them up) and 2) what will work long term. Cyclizine is definitely off the list as that makes me vomit. Will be kept in longer if they don't work...nice! At least I'm in the right place if all doesn't work out.

M27J5M · 10/09/2014 21:13

Sorry to hear your in hosp Durham but it's the best place for you to get you back to full health, hope your feeling better soon!

Hope everyone else is doing well! I'm having a mega grumpy day, doesn't help that I was up half the night and then working all day! Early bed tonight

3isthemajicnumber · 10/09/2014 21:15

Durham you poor thing hopefully the iv fluids will help you feel better. I had a close friend to had hg and she always said the fluids helped loads.

Whohas hope cvs goes well tomorrow.

smokeandglitter · 11/09/2014 07:47

Hope hospital can sort you out, Durham, and hope fluids really help you feel a bit brighter!

Twittwooo · 11/09/2014 08:09

Hope you feel better in hospital Durham. I've been really tired all week and work has been difficult - I think I may have been a grumpier teacher than usual, poor children! I also caught a few of the older girls looking at my tummy so I think they may have an inkling! I look a bit pregnant already and am finding it increasingly difficult to find clothes that don't either make my look really frumpy or like I'm bulging out of them (yesterday was the latter)! I have my 12 week scan later today - feeling a bit anxious but also excited. Fingers crossed everything looks good.
