Sorry theone I'm being totally dense - I meant in our private FB group. But it wasn't you anyway.

I have completely lost the plot. Excuse all crazy postings.

So tired here too. DS woke up at 5.30 for the day and I lay on the sofa dozing while he watched CBEEBIES.

So happy to here all the good news twitt, theone and miffy!

DurhamRed · 28/08/2014 19:19

Thanks everyone for your support. Just knowing I can vent my feelings on here is a great help. Can be a bit lonely when at home and oh is at work, especially when you are feeling rough. So many thanks for letting me whinge!

theonewiththenoisychild · 28/08/2014 19:20

well ive just put ds to bed went to the toilet and im getting old blood when i wipe. but scan showed no blood so cant be from the uterus so not going to panic

Twittwooo · 28/08/2014 19:27

theone good for you not letting yourself panic, and if it's old blood that's a good sign I'm sure. I've been googling like mad and need to stop. I think the combination of this bleeding and previous miscarriages means I'll never completely relax but need to try. I hope everyone manages to have a relaxing evening.

coastergirl · 28/08/2014 19:31

Panda yeah they normally just seem to shrug it off. The midwife who booked me in seemed to take it really seriously though and referred me to both the consultant and to the caseloading midwife team so I will see the same person all the way through. It is reassuring.

Anybody have any hints on getting rid of headaches? This one started yesterday and I gave in and took paracetamol this morning, which didn't work. I don't really want to take any more.

ZebraZeebra · 28/08/2014 19:46

coastergirl DH and I give each other head massages when we have headaches. DH has actually managed to massage away a migraine, something I've never had ANY kind of painkiller do.

FoscarC · 28/08/2014 20:58

twittwoo have you got another scan booked in soon for reassurance? If not could you get one to help reassure?

ELA88 · 28/08/2014 20:59

pickle teaandbiscuits I've been in a few times but school is deserted! I just feel like they might be a bit disappointed as I've just been enrolled on the SENCO training, but I'm hoping to complete as much as I can and I should be able to defer the last couple of months for a year I'm hoping!
I only plan on taking 6 months maternity leave. DH is possibly changing job to allow more flexible hours so I'm going to start mat leave as close to EDD as I can and then start back in September. Might consider part time depending on finances, will be sad to leave my class in march though because I'm really looking forward to this year! Had a tough year last year, could've done with 6 months off that one! Xxx

junkfoodaddict · 28/08/2014 21:04

I feel guilty about leaving my class. Their Y1 teacher was put on capabilities, then went on sick, then left during the summer so they had various supply teachers until one was found who could do more long term. So they would have Y1 and Y2 disrupted with different teachers. Having said that, my HT knew of our plans to TTC from July onwards so she put that class with me knowing I would end up pregnant.

teaandbiscuitsforme · 28/08/2014 21:13

Feeling the guilt too. I've got a friend's child in my class this year, very low ability and awful teacher last year so she's hoping he gets a good year this year!

And I feel like they'll be disappointed ELA. I'm lit co and just taking on assessment which is in a right mess. Expecting the call this year so kind of hoping they come before mat leave as I'd rather be there when they are trawling through the data!

kittenmamma · 28/08/2014 22:56

Everyone is a teacher!

Twittwooo · 29/08/2014 00:02

foscar - my dating scan was already booked for two weeks from today, so that'll still go ahead. Not too long to wait so hopefully the anxiety will ease! I'm with the teachers, it's difficult! I told the very small team I work with when we returned a couple of weeks ago, because I was feeling really sick and knew they would work it out anyway. Also, my HT had really wanted me to sign up to a year long course so I wanted to let her know because of that too.

Surfsup1 · 29/08/2014 02:40

Noisy - Is there a possibility that it could be a haemorrhoid?

Surfsup1 · 29/08/2014 02:44

Oh, sorry - just read more of your posts and I think you're pretty clear it's not a haemorrhoid!

lotsoftoast · 29/08/2014 06:11

Scan today at 915 - have slept so badly and have pretty much been up since 4. Excited and nervous in equal measures!

Good luck Toast!!
So exciting!!

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 29/08/2014 06:48

Ugh. Woke up at 4.15am and couldn't get back to sleep. Feel rough as anything.

Toast - good luck with your scan! I had a look in my emails just in case I'd missed it but nothing. Would you mind inviting me again please? Thank you

PickledPorcupine · 29/08/2014 07:55

Ela I'm sure you know this but just in case... Schools have a habit of making teachers believe they can't start back during a holiday but you can. So if you're back in September you can put your return date as the first day of the summer hols so you get paid in full for them. This was the case last time I checked so I don't think it'll have changed. A friend of mine was told she had to work 2 weeks before a holiday to get paid which is complete rubbish. Another friend did the day before (her choice to get her head around it) and then got paid for the whole summer at full pay.

junkfoodaddict · 29/08/2014 08:03

I found this out during my last pregnancy PickledPorcupine. I'm going back during the last three days before Christmas (hopefully) when it's party time, Christmas Carol Service and 'light duties'. It will give me an opportunity to study the assessment data, work the children have done and any planning before I return full time in January 2016. Wow! January 2016 - seems so far away! The trend at work is that everyone returns after maternity leave into a different year group so I am expecting that this will be my last 6 months in Y2. A teacher returned in March after being SENCO/PPA cover and put in Y4 full time whilst the SENCO cover completed the year. The original SENCO knew she'd be pushed out of the job of SENCO so quit so now just teaches Y4. A Y4 teacher returned to Y3 and a Y6 returned to Y5. I returned from Y1 to Y2 last time. I am dreading the fact I will end up in KS2!

PickledPorcupine · 29/08/2014 08:14

Did she not have a tlr for the senco bit?

PickledPorcupine · 29/08/2014 08:14

PS. KS2 is better Grin

theonewiththenoisychild · 29/08/2014 08:19

toast good luck with your scan today

twitt its good that you have kept your original scan date. mine has changed from 10th to 17th (sonographers idea) but tbh the 10th was at 8:30 in the morning and the 17th is 10am. the 8:30 scan would have meant oh taking dcs to school and missing it himself. but as we have swapped dates and moved everything around a bit he can be there Grin

im buying a doppler this weekend ready to re assure me if needed because that wait for the scan was awful. i know it wont pick hb up yet but be good to have it there for later. especially as i went through similar twice in my pregnancy with dd

ELA88 · 29/08/2014 08:24

pickle that's what I plan on doing. Then I technically only have 18 weeks of mat leave and 6 of summer holiday. The KIT days, would I get full pay for? I know it's down to the schools discretion but I would like to meet my new class in June/July next year in transition week but less likely to want to if I will only be getting SMP!
We won't be getting the call this year so I won't miss it being on mat leave! Which is good really because I want to be there to support the other SENCO! Xx

PickledPorcupine · 29/08/2014 08:30

Ela Yes, kit days should be fully paid. We're due the call anytime and I think it'll happen before I go annoyingly.

missmakesstuff · 29/08/2014 08:32

Hi all, I'm feeling brave enough to join finally, I have tried to read the whole thread and have been lurking for a bit, I'm 10 weeks tomorrow edd 27th March, have 1 DD already, had one mc inbetween in May last year, so still feeling very nervous!scan isn't for a couple of weeks but I've had two already due to a bit of bleeding, all fine!

I'm a teacher too, but the bigger ones, I see I'm not alone! Dreading school on Monday, worried about how tired I will be, plus all the work I still have to do!
