Wow, you guys are suffering so much, I'm sorry!
I'm really only having tiredness and being way too hot all the time. I'm definitely going to ask Google if the heat thing is associated with girls, everyone around me is having boys at the moment but girls run in our families so I'm really curious!!
Food wise I'm still finding enough that I like, though my tastes have changed a bit.
Still waiting on my booking appt and scan, hoping that I get both quite quickly, I can't stand the waiting! Also could do to tell everyone at work so they can help me out a bit so I want my scan to find out my proper dates etc.
I was watching some 12 weeks scans on YouTube last night, they're amazing, I'm so excited but still super nervous.

HollyBen · 26/08/2014 15:08

I have the freezing cold thing going on too (with very occasional hot periods). I was cold last time with DD too. DH reckons we are gaving a girl (he did last time too and was right). I have no feeling either way. If it is a boy he might never get a name as we had a compromise boys name last time but subsequently both admitted we probably wouldn't have used it. S might be better off with another girl!!

ZebraZeebra · 26/08/2014 15:52

surfsup as I understand it gut health is linked to autoimmune diseases - asthma, eczema etc. We've give DS baby biotics - probiotic powder - since birth and have been reading up on GAPS diet. Happy to share links of what we give him!

Totally over food. I was worried I was putting on weight but my skinny jeans are still loose! (I don't expect this to continue!) if it wasn't for a toddler needing to eat, I would not cook at all.

ZebraZeebra · 26/08/2014 15:53

Gut health is linked to autoimmune in the sense of a healthy gut is everything and will help prevent autoimmune diseases. Duh.

Twittwooo · 26/08/2014 19:00

Littlemissy - yes! Although I'm back teaching already. I was really dreading it, but it's been okay so far. Either I'm incredibly lucky and my sickness has eased or the distraction is working well. I think it's a bit of both. I'm very tired though, and I'm struggling with all the work from home in the evening. Having a toddler this time around doesn't make it any easier! I'm
hoping the tiredness will pass after 12 weeks or so as I've a busy term ahead! Good luck when you return.

PickledPorcupine · 26/08/2014 19:26

I'm in the grumpy club too!

I've got a terrible headache which is making me feel sick and I'm on a coach for the next 4 hours.

Also dreading back to school next week!

kittenmamma · 26/08/2014 19:36

Im terribly grumpy this evening also, especially with DH who is determined to wind me up by going on about how much he fancies my colleague!!
Had a rather disconcerting afternoon watching firemen try to control a blaze in ahouse on the next street from mine, the second this year.
I hate this area, it's the dodgy part of town but we live in the new part, and bought a house which got us on to the property ladder.
We can afford to move but DH just refuses to :( I don't want my kids brought up here.

junkfoodaddict · 26/08/2014 20:38

Another teacher here - dreading the return to school but more so for reasons to do with the HT and school!
I received another letter inviting me to the hospital on 3rd october to the VBAC clinic. i think to discuss my options. I am quite worried that they'll persuade me to have a VBAC now even though I was told that highly likely I'll need a c-section (and I prefer a c-section). Reasons:

  1. Rare reaction to my induction led to violent contractions
  2. Plancenta abruption
  3. Foetal Distress
  4. Uterine tear
All led to 1500ml> blood loss from me. DS needed care in SCBU for low blood sugar, suspected GBS (which I had tested positive for but didn't have full antibiotics due to the emergency) and phototherapy for jaundice. We were hospitalised for a week. But I want to add the following:
  1. It was a distressing, emotional and terrifying time not just for me but my DH (who later admitted that his refusal to have a second child was because of the experience he endured, which a lot of people fail to realise).
  2. I will remain anxious - thinking that getting nearer, and possibly over my due date I would suffer a silent abruption.
  3. I am 40 minutes from the hospital so if anything catastrophic did occur, it would be curtains for me and baby.
The nurses are notorious for turning away women. My friend recently gave birth in an ambulance en-route because she was told to go back home to labour despite them being told of the distance (40 minutes home, 40 minutes back to the hospital). Obviously all made worse on hearing Ben Fogle's tragic news that his wife has lost their child at 32 weeks. Sad
teaandbiscuitsforme · 26/08/2014 20:41

Sorry to everybody feeling bad today. I've actually felt alright today, not normal but much better than the last 5 weeks!

littlemissy I've also been analysing data today, got to love it! Not looking forward to being back in the school but really lucky that my classroom is next to the toilets. They're the kids toilets but they're going to have to do in an emergency!

MooMaid · 26/08/2014 21:14

Hi all, had my dating scan today, all went well if not a bit quickly overwhelming but baby totally in the wrong place and position and couldn't have the NT scan.... have to wait for the quad test in a few weeks time. But they couldn't really tell me what the accuracy difference was between the two so think we're going to have to assume all is generally OK!

Hope everyone else who had scans today went well and any upcoming ones are equally exciting Smile

Rainbow555 · 26/08/2014 22:37

Well I am going to try and go to work today, off sick last two days with head cold, as the cold is easing. The sickness, nausea and stomach aches are not mind you and no one at work knows yet.
But I have meetings I can't postpone so I am going to have to be brave, pull up my big girl pants and face it head on!! I can't stay in my pjs for the next I don't know have many weeks (even though I want to) maybe it will give me a distraction....
Glad the scan went well moomaid and was exciting even if you didn't quite get all the info you were after and glad some ppl are starting to feel better

Surfsup1 · 27/08/2014 02:34

Junk no need to add to that trauma by even entertaining the idea of a Vbac. Put your mind and ease and book in your CS.

Kitten why doesn't your DH want to move?

lotsoftoast · 27/08/2014 09:13

Junk I suspect once they look at your notes they will be only too happy to book you in for elcs. Try not to fret in the meantime - it's your decision ultimately and they can only give you options

Hi everyone!

Add me to the off work sick list. Came down with tonsillitis over the weekend, was prescribed pencillin but it didn't make a difference. It actually got worse and the fever set in. Got a new antibiotic yesterday and I'm beginning to feel human again!

I also got my early scan yesterday at 9+1, baby was all curled up and looked like a wee bean Smile. Saw the lovely fluttering heartbeat and was measuring around 9+4, so happy! 12 week scan is on the 12th Sept, think we are going to tell our families this weekend.

Right, time to get up and decide what to eat!!

theonewiththenoisychild · 27/08/2014 10:35

hi ladies. i think i may be out Sad had heavy bleeding last night and something came out into the toilet with the blood. (sorry tmi) it was fairly big i picked it up an it fell apart in my hand. i have had a cervical polyp before so im hoping its just that but wont know for sure whats happening until tomorrow morning as i have a scan at epas. will come back and let you know Sad

DurhamRed · 27/08/2014 10:46

Morning all,

theonewith I'm so sorry, I have my fingers crossed you have positive news tomorrow.

I am back to work tomorrow after 6 weeks off due to hyperemesis. Still feeling very rough so not sure how I'm going to cope going back. I'm hoping the distraction will keep my mind off the nausea. When will the sickness end and pregnancy become enjoyable???

KeeperOfTheZoo · 27/08/2014 11:37

Wow, a lot has happened since I was last on before the weekend!

theone I have everything crossed for you Flowers

I am feeling a bit better sickness-wise now but have started with the headaches, which I had with DS (and have been a migraine-sufferer since childhood so probably an expected symptom). Paracetamol just doesn't cut it for me - I always have to take two, if not three doses before it kicks in, whereas ibuprofen tends to have me feeling better after the first hit.

I am in a really bad mood as well and just feeling a bit "meh" about everything. Started with DH annoying me on Monday and I still haven't really forgiven him now, even though it's pointless carrying on the argument/bad feeling but I just can't seem to drag myself out of the gloom Sad. I'm assuming it's hormonal but I'm even starting to piss myself off now! Angry

FoscarC · 27/08/2014 12:13

What is a vbac? Sorry so many of you are feeling grotty. I am starting to feel almost back to normal. Just tired now. Going to try and go a for a short little run now. Eeek! Haven't been for a run since I started to feel
Gross. Think I may last about 30 secs! Hope all those poorly people start to feel better soon. And great news on the scans. I am now eagerly awaiting my 20 week scan on 13th oct. Can not wait!!

FoscarC · 27/08/2014 12:16

Cross posts. Just seen your message theone I hope it's just the polyp and not a mc. I will be thinking of you and finger crossed. Try and stay calm until your appt tomorrow but I can imagine that's easier said than done.

ChristinaYang · 27/08/2014 13:06

Thinking of you theonewiththenoisychild, sending you positive vibes for tomorrow x

theonewiththenoisychild · 27/08/2014 13:34

im feeling very dizzy and sick and the bleeding seems to have almost stopped. im very confused and worried. just dont know what to think. i have had no pain just heavy bleeding. i thought the bleeding would last longer than this if was a mc. it started half 1 this morning and a i said has almost stopped Confused

FoscarC · 27/08/2014 13:37

theone can you see anyone sooner or do you have a midwife to contact? Do you have someone with you to look after you? Sending you hugs.

theonewiththenoisychild · 27/08/2014 13:42

foscarC i havent had booking appointment yet so no midwife. but i phoned maternity when i started bleeding last night/early this morning and they said epas would ring me with a scan appointment when they are open. they did this morning with a scan for tomorrow but thats about it. oh is here with me and is trying his best Sad

Butterpuff · 27/08/2014 13:43

Thinking of you theone and hoping that it is a polyp, and that someone can see you sooner.

MyPandaisasecretmonster · 27/08/2014 13:45

Theone I second seeing somebody a lot sooner , Can you not go in to a&e or ring your midwife as it's really not on them making you wait so long.

fingers crossed for you Thanks.
