A few babies have already arrived, with more due to make their entrance soon, and it's not even September yet!

Congrats to you on the boys kicksandgiggles, I'm sure you're glad to have them home safe!
For those of you with sore nips, I feel your pain! That was me with my first, literally crying whilst feeding as they were so sore. The best piece of advice I got was from a friend who said "Just give it two weeks, no matter how much you want to give up". 9 days in, pain disappeared completely and it was a breeze! I'm so glad I heeded her, as I really really was close to stopping that first week...

CoolCat2014 · 22/08/2014 17:44

Congrats kicks :)

Not much to say, other than I'm in agony with sudden onset of SPD. Can't walk without pelvis clicking, it's horrid. Saw a physio today, and when I told her I'm hypermobile she was shocked I got to 38 weeks without pain! Lots of exercises and rules to follow now.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 22/08/2014 18:06

The sore nips is the worst ever part of breast feeding, I was told to persevere through it and slap loads of Lansinoh on them, it got easier in the end & I managed 2yrs of breast feeding altogether x

Topsyloulou · 22/08/2014 18:16

Congratulations kicks, had been wondering how you were. Sounds like it's been a stressful time but must be fabulous to have the boys at home with you.

Finished work today, have been thoroughly spoilt with cards & presents for both me and the little man. Managed to make it until 3pm without crying & then did it in spectacular style in front of the whole department during my leaving presentation!

Bump has dropped loads in the last two days and I've developed a waddle. There is lots of pressure too do hopefully he's now starting to engage although he is still laying to one side on his side rather than in the middle facing in so might have to check out spinning babies & see if I can get him to move.

TwosaCrowd · 22/08/2014 18:38

Congratulations kicks! Can't believe you have birth naturally to twins and are now ebf!

My scan showed a membrane covering the cervix which is possibly stopping the baby's head from descending into the pelvis, he's currently lying off centre (oblique lie) so ice got to have a sweep to see if they can remove the membrane which I'm not looking forward to at all!!

TwosaCrowd · 22/08/2014 19:28

Does the baby have to be engaged for you to go into labour? I went into labour with DS and he was breech so I'm not sure!

TheOnlySeven · 22/08/2014 19:44

twos with first babies (head down!) they're generally engaged before labour starts, but it's quite normal for subsequent ones not to engage until moments before labour or during labour itself.

IAteSomeofthePies · 22/08/2014 19:53

Wow, Kicks! That sounds like quite a month. I'm so glad that your twins are home.

Bug sorry I missed your pics on the old thread. I love the one of Dexter 'sunning'.

I'm dreading the sore nipples thing, as I'm a first timer and really want to ebf. At the classes they said it shouldn't hurt, but I was sceptical!

IAteSomeofthePies · 22/08/2014 19:54

Though I suppose I'm dreading the whole labour thing more!

ilovemonstersinc · 22/08/2014 20:10

Bug im another who missed baby dexters pic. Hes absolutely gorgeous!

Loving the bf stories as atm ive been struggling due to sore nipples! Had a 3 hour feed last night which hurt loads. When he woke up crying I felt like crying as I couldn't feed any more.

Iate the labour bit isnt that bad. My word of advice to all is go with the flow and dontbe scared of what your body is telling you to do I was for a bit and that hurt more. According to notes my whole labour was 2hours! From when contractions got strong with drip.

polkadotdelight · 22/08/2014 21:04

Congratulations kicks thats awesome news.

Im still struggling to post here and still very stressed about this babys weight and labour. Ive phoned the unit to complain and Ive been given an appointment to see my own consultant at the end of next week. Am also 36+2 and my bump is so painful its a struggle to walk around the house even. Im really worried Im going to be at a higher risk of PND because Ive got myself so down about it and I cried in Boots earlier when I realised that they didn't have any support belts/bands.

Teabiscuits · 22/08/2014 21:25

congrats kicks! That's amazing you had them naturally and are breastfeeding!

I'm with you all on the sore nipples. She's at the stage of feeding constantly, I can't put her down without her screaming her head off and I'm still not convinced she's latched properly and actually taking enough milk. If this carries on for much longer I might have to throw the towel in and switch to bottle feeding. I feel awful but have 3 older ones to think about as well and I can't do anything at all with them at the moment as I'm constantly breast feeding. Ugh I hope it gets easier soon. The problem is there's really no support around here. There is one local breast feeding drop in, but that's on Mondays and it's bank holiday this week. Have to take it one day at a time I suppose.

velvetlilithi · 22/08/2014 21:34

Checking in after a long time. Can't believe there's been already so many babies born!!

Just reading all old posts. How many babies do we have here? Noticed top, tea, cookie and bug, did I miss anyone?

I'm 34+6 today. On last check up 2 weeks ago our little boy was breech, so was talked through c-section as in my hospital they don't allow natural birth when baby's breech (doesn't matter what I would like, no option). I was also having a lots of pain in lower abdomen shooting in my right hip and back-said it's pelvic girdle pain. For last 2-3 days having some like period pain, couple of times woke me up at night. However, nothing extra bad and not regular, so no labour yet. Just not very comfortable.

Yesterday was midwife pretty confident that baby is head down and quite a lot engaged in pelvis. Now just depends how about next check up at 37 weeks. If any doubt of position, will be send for a scan to confirm.

Congrats to everyone's babies and hope you're all doing okay! As seen on photos, all your babies are absolutely adorable!! Can't wait to see more and finally meet my own Smile

LH1981 · 23/08/2014 10:34

Congrats to all the new mummies!!! And good luck to all those imminent arrivals! xx

Checking in, as haven't been on for a while. I'm 35+6 today. Saw midwife at 35 weeks and she said I was measuring 37 weeks, baby was engaged and already roughly 7lbs. She thinks just the waters holding him up! This last trimester has been awful! I'm huge and so uncomfortable.
Been in hospital 3 times overnight due to contractions and basically having bouts of intense contractions all over the place (all night, night before last, was convinced this was it, and then nothing).

Who said this pregnancy thing was fun eh?! xx

whiteblossom · 23/08/2014 11:14

Morning everyone, I think that I started to lose my mucus plug a few days ago so was getting excited that things are moving in the right direction....today I have back ache but I cant work out if its 'just' my back or if its a sign that things are moving along..who knows?! Ive got my oils burning that the reflexologist gave me so come on baby Grin

good luck velvet fx baby has turned and you have options on how you want to give birth again.

Someone mentions sore nips/clothes chafing....have you tried nipple shields stops clothes rubbing and helps 'air' off nips. hth.

I have to say that all the talk of BF has made me realise I made the right decision (for me) not to this time, you have brought it all back to me. Its really great if you can and can handle all that comes with it but it really brought me crashing down last time (pnd) and I just cant risk that this time but please please don't take this as a slight on bf just my personal choice as it is yours Smile

Have a great weekend everyone, Im looking forward to a big fat sunday roast tomorrow Grin

oh my lord, my back!!

ELLA Just lavender & grapefruit, she wouldn't give up the clary sage just yet...but it is lovely and relaxing Smile

Im 38 weeks today. Im working on my reflex points to soften the cervix. My back pain has gone off now..

I find the reflexology really interesting as after my last appointment she asked me how my sinus was, any congestion? I've had a sinus headache all week (due to spending three or fours days crying last week) so I was really congested...how nuts is that, she could tell by my feet. For the record I don't sound bunged up, no sneezing, no nose bowing just normal me with a head/face ache! It amazing that she picked up on that.

velvetlilithi · 23/08/2014 13:17

Can anyone explain me what means in my preg. notes palpation 4/5? Someone mentioned engagement of the baby with these numbers (3/5 or 4/5), but what exactly the numbers means?

Sorry for silly question, just really don't know and midwife's never mentioned it.
And do you think it's okay if at 34+5 I measured 33.5cm? Midwife told me they won't send me for a scan unless the difference is 4cm or more.

Teabiscuits · 23/08/2014 14:02

white that's amazing! From your feet ?! All I know about my feet is that they really need a good scrub with the ped egg Blush . Huge respect to you for making a positive decision about feeding. I'm trying to breast feed again, and mostly feel like I'm failing (again). Not entirely sure why I'm putting myself through it all again and wish I had the guts just to say it's not for me. Whenever in the past I have said I'm struggling all the professionals just say persevere and it will all come good in the end. It never has.

velvet that measurement sounds perfect. My worst ever one was 32cm at 38 weeks while pregnant with DS and he was born 6 lb 5.

Emma is asleep on me, DS is having a nap, DD1 and 2 playing on the laptop. This won't last...

Acorncat · 23/08/2014 14:46

I wondered the same about the 4/5 palpitation thingy so googled and I think it means the MW can feel 4/5 of the baby's head therefore it's 1/5 engaged. Something like that anyway! Mine is also measuring a cm small, but was told they don't worry until it's 3cm out. The measurements seem a bit haphazard anyway!

Acorncat · 23/08/2014 14:48

Palpation, not palpitation thanks autocorrect
