A few babies have already arrived, with more due to make their entrance soon, and it's not even September yet!

Ella - I will be 38+2 on Monday. I think he/she is cooked enough to come then. I have a mw appt on Fri. I hope my bump has grown, otherwise I might be sent for another growth scan coz I only grew by 2 weeks at last appt and normally I measure 3cm growth in the 3 weeks bearing in mind I'm measuring 3 weeks behind as it is, and I don't want to have to b induced.

Marjal12 - I also watched that episode. So sad. I do think that the us version seems better than ours. I esp like the fact there is very little screaming in it, so I don't have to keep putting my tv volume on low lol.

ok im in a bit of a flap. When I woke yesterday, my knickers were very wet. I put it down to having put the duvet back on the bed and being really hot + normal pg fluid...

This morning I was up at 4am and had a damp patch the size of a 5 pence, high up the front of my knickers. Went back to bed and had to get up again (alarm went off) and as I was sitting up felt fluid come out but again high up the front and thought oh bugger that's gonna wee (I had just been to the loo by the way)

So this morning mega damp again so from around 4am to 8am. No smell that I can tell, tiny bit of discharge.

Oh and last night I had mega intense BH for an hour and ten mins every ten mins on the dot. I figured things were building up to labour and thought I should get some sleep, I was aware of a few while lay down but could sleep through them iykwim. Nothing when I was up at 4am or since.

Should I ring someone, could this be amniotic fluid? I had my water broke last time. I really don't want to go into hospital and have an internal and all the faff. help!

cookielove · 27/08/2014 10:08

white I have no idea, but would call the hospital and see what they say! Good luck :)

TheOnlySeven · 27/08/2014 10:21

white I'd call and see what they say, I have no idea tbh as the only time my waters have gone before labour they gushed.

I know sex can cause contractions, that why we tried it. They weren't contractions I was having though, just a constant low ache, though I did later have by far the worst BH I've ever had, so I think sex would probably work if you were actually ready to go into labour.

topmammy · 27/08/2014 10:28

Have you got any show as well white? Either snotty stuff or light pink on wiping? That's what I got after my waters went. I really think you need to go to hospital to get checked regardless as there are infection risks if your waters have gone. Don't delay! Good luck x

ilovemonstersinc · 27/08/2014 10:34

Thanks for sharing your story top! How is jessica doing?

Cookie hope your stitches heal soon. I had stitches 1st time and they became infected so I remember the pain! Was supposed to have mine taken out to let everything heal on kts own but ds had meningitis and was running around after him...

those who have delivered whats your bleeding like? Mine has almost stopped but still seem to be passing huge clots at times. Ive lost around 4 clots in 8 days andthey feel like when you pass pplacenta.

Havr rang mw just waiting for her to ring back

topmammy · 27/08/2014 11:02

Jessica is fine thanks Ilove She is feeling chunkier by the day. I feel terrible for asking but what is your little one called? I think I must have missed it!

I'm still bleeding enough to need an Always pad. I thought it would have stopped by now Confused I'm on day 17. Might ask Mw about it as I see her again tomorrow. I suppose I could be having a period though. Lovely!

ShowMeShowMeTheWine · 27/08/2014 11:06

White, if it's your waters trickling - put a pad on and lay down for an hour. You should get a 'gush' if it's actually waters. Discharge can be increased and quite 'liquid' like at this stage though.

cookielove · 27/08/2014 11:36

ilove for the last two days the bleeding has slowed down, it did that on day 7ish so it may just be a lull. Hoping it will stop soon. How long are you meant to bleed for?

cbmb12 · 27/08/2014 11:42

I know... but I don't feel ready at all...half of me wants him to come early, but the other half is really hoping he is late as I have so much work to do, but am so sluggish at getting it done!

whiteblossom · 27/08/2014 11:56

right spoke to my mw who said to ring triage. They want me to go in at lunchtime today. Just had an early lunch and then Ill drop off ds at my parents.

My gut says its not my waters but who knows, its more than whats 'normal' for me?! They want to see me to check because if it has and it started yesterday morning then they will want to induce (so not good).

TheOnlySeven · 27/08/2014 12:30

Bleeding can last up to six weeks so it certainly isn't a worry that you're still bleeding on day 17 top, although the really heavy bleeding shouldn't last longer than a week or two. Clots any bigger I think than 50p aren't normal after the first few days though and should definitely be mentioned.

TheOnlySeven · 27/08/2014 12:31

Good luck white. I've definitely noticed an increase in wetness down there the last few days but just put it down to being normal for this stage.

Cindy I know what you mean about work having been your focus for so long. It's impossible to imagine how you might feel about it afterwards and that in itself is so scary. Also just the prospect of not working and/or getting out and about everyday is really strange.

Had my 36-week check today and baby is so low down they can barely feel her head, so they were worried at first that she had got smaller since last measurements were taken. I'm wondering if this means she'll be early but sods law will probably mean she's 2 weeks late!

cookielove · 27/08/2014 14:22

I was told clots up to the size of a satsuma! Shock Anything bigger to get it checked!

LH1981 · 27/08/2014 14:36

Well, the curry might have done the trick! Think I may be in early labour, getting cramps since this morning....

TheOnlySeven · 27/08/2014 14:46

I've never had clots that big even during the first few hours after birth!

LH hope it's the beginning of something.

Teabiscuits · 27/08/2014 15:04

Just had a catch up on here, hope everyone is ok and not too fed up with pregnancy!

cookie that sounds horrible but it's better to get it fixed sooner rather than later. I had a similar problem after DD2 but didn't get it sorted out when I should have done, and it healed really badly with lots of scar tissue. I had 2 years of pain until I got it sorted with surgery, and have had 2 natural births since with no problems Smile . Hope it gets better soon X

top I wouldnt worry too much, I bled for 10 weeks after DS and the doctor wasn't concerned at all.Confused I had a placental abruption with him though, so I don't know if that made it worse. It's really annoying though I know.

So Emma is just over a week old, and I would only be 38+5 today!
I made the decision to switch to bottle feeding after all. She wasn't latching well, or feeding for long enough, just like DS did, and he nearly ended up back in hospital because he was undernourished.
I had completely neglected my other 3 DC because I was so wrapped up in breast feeding. I felt completely awful and useless for not making it work and literally cried all day yesterday.
She's a lot more settled now though, and doing a much better amount of wet nappies now so I think I did the right thing. The midwife had made it clear that as she's so little she couldn't afford to lose too much weight, and had dropped to about 5lb 2 already.

Anyway that was a bit of a ramble sorry! Hope to see more babies soon!

Topsyloulou · 27/08/2014 15:30

That sounds promising LH, fingers crossed this is it.

I was wondering if I was leaking waters too yesterday but decided it was just additional discharge as not experienced anything today.

Having reflexology tomorrow to try & encourage him out. Has anyone else tried it & has it done anything?

ilovemonstersinc · 27/08/2014 15:47

Mw said as long aa im not bleeding heavy its ok for now but keep and eye on it and let her know if any changes. Also the blood is sticky? Is that normal? I had infections both timea so dont know lol.

whiteblossom · 27/08/2014 15:59

just wanted to bob on and let you all know that all is fine, MW's decided that extra fluid was just additional pg related not waters. Im glad as I didn't want inducing. Its all so cringe worthy though, two women looking up my fanjo with a big light asking me to cough, oh and wanting to check my panty liner...Blush

Topsy ive had a few reflex sessions and highly recommend. The lady that did mine is also a mw at the hospital and she was able to tell me all about my ailments from my feet, very interesting! If nothing else its very relaxing Smile Cant say its got me in labour yet but she wont bring out the big guns until Im due...boooooo! Though she has shown me the pressure points to press to encourage things myself.

tea don't be upset, you have done what you can and you have looked at the bigger picture of the impact on your family overall and that's very understandable. xxx

LH keep us updated, curry or labour cramps...so exciting fx for you x

whiteblossom · 27/08/2014 16:00

oh and mw said that amniotic fluid smells like semen for anyone wondering if that might help.

ilovemonstersinc · 27/08/2014 16:05

Sorry top dh likes azaan which we think will be his name. Still a little undecided

LH1981 · 27/08/2014 17:36

Still having cramps, back pain and the odd contraction or two so perhaps. Got everything crossed. Only 36+3 but need this baby out - and my last ds was born at 37 exactly. Is it weird I'm wishing for pain??!

I don't think large clots are normal? I think a satsuma sized one is too big, I'd get checked just in case. xx
