My midwife said to start carrying my notes with me from 30 weeks...

25 weeks is super scary!

binkybunny · 14/07/2014 22:40

I took mine away last week... Just in case! Never thought about taking them to work. Prob should later on as we live 45 minutes away from hospital and work!

ExcitedCJ · 15/07/2014 04:24

Toddler woke me up at 3:45am cos her nightlight went out & I am now a marauding bear looking for food! I'm sooo hungry! So weird, heading into 3rd trimester by end of week & my hunger levels have gone into overdrive. Wee bub is obviously growing like crazy. Must keep bananas by the bed! (Snort! Now I found that rather amusing in an - oh er missus manner! Deleriously tired & hungry.) :)

tak1ngchances · 15/07/2014 07:21

I'm hungry for cold things. I want ice cold water, fruit salad out of the fridge and ice cream. I've gone right off hot food. So strange because normally I'm the other way round.

Didn't even occur to me to bring my notes around with me but when I had my spotting at the weekend DH remembered to bring them to hospital and the midwife referred to them a lot. So prob is sensible...they just weigh a ton!

My friend's baby was born at 26 weeks. It was all very scary but she is a healthy and lively 2 year old now. I think we all sent our congratulations cards & presents on the day they brought her home from hospital. Before then it was an anxious time for the family and we sent them messages with thoughts & prayers.

queenasanti3 · 15/07/2014 07:29

Its so busy this thread so much going on, hoping that little 25 week old baby is ok.
Iam 28 weeks so think I should start thinking about sorting my hospital bag out soon too.
I had my 3d scsn yesterday which was great the lady flicked onto HD live which was amazing it was so life like, she forgot to do my dvd so iam able to go back next week and they will do the whole session in HD live Smile.
Need to get my bloods done at some point this week and my whooping cough is booked for Monday.
Also havent bought a thing yet suppose I best go order my pram as iam not sure how long it will take to come.

mrsb87 · 15/07/2014 08:09

I have my notes on holiday with me and I'm 29wks. No bag packed yet but I will get on that when I get home.
Tried having a pillow under my knees, it worked for the sore hips but still got woken up by restless legs.
Food wise I'm really off it again, sweet things like ice cream are okay but I'm really struggling to eat properly.

ohthegoats · 15/07/2014 08:54

Ok, so I've just seen a consultant and I'll be induced on my due date (providing everything else carries on ok until that date) due to fragmin control. So, I've got to get this kid out before then, because I really don't want to be induced.

I know it's a million dollar question, but anything I can do to make things happen sooner?

YellowWellies · 15/07/2014 09:08

Goats I have two friends who actually had great experiences of induction (9 hour labours, natural deliveries, everyone safe and healthy) so if it does come to that don't panic that its guaranteed to be the horror its painted to be in some natural birthing texts. Don't rush them out before 36 weeks as babies that age can and still do suffer from nasty complications. Personally I'd go for eating pineapple, lots of sex, being very active and raspberry leaf tea from 36 weeks. My sister swore by reflexology. Your MW might agree to give you a sweep from 38 weeks too to avoid induction (it saves the NHS money too as inducted Mums need more staff so they should be keen). Good luck!

YellowWellies · 15/07/2014 09:10

Oh and if you're going down the eating curry to encourage eviction route be warned that whilst an upset tum can trigger uterine cramps - eating lots of chillies in the week before labour primes the brains pain receptors and has been proven to make labour more painful!

Me23 · 15/07/2014 09:11

Think I have ear infection tried to get emergency appt with gp today but couldn't get one will have to try again tomorrow.

I'm on annual leave and the house actually is looking a lot cleaner and tidier. It's lifted my spirits a bit as I was really getting down feeling so exhausted all the time and not being able to do my share of housework or childcare as work just took it all out of me. I know I've made the right decision going on mat leave early it's the right thing for me and my family I already feel like I have more energy and able to give more to the family.

We have own tickets to the Eden project anyone been? It's so far away though but will try to get down there at some point this summer. Wish we were going on holiday can't really afford it with all the other expenses but I'm keeping an eye out for last minute deals.

mrsb87 · 15/07/2014 09:17

The Eden project is amazing me, I love it there. I love Cornwall though. Always my first choice of holiday destination!

I'm getting a little fed up if waking up feeling worse than I did the night before. I'm genuinely so exhausted Sad

Grannyapple · 15/07/2014 09:18

Hi ladies...struggling to keep up since working almost full time at the mo but already on mat leave countdown...11wks of work left...with budgets & manic time at work at the mo, I'm hoping it'll fly by!

I seem to have picked up a cold/virus thing from DD...praying it doesn't develop u to a chest infection...I had similar this time last year when almost full term with DD...I practically couldn't breathe in the heat & was coughing up all sorts...& still had to beg docs for antibiotics!

I'll be carrying my notes from about 32wks on...doing a big trip back home to Glasgow then so think is best be prepared just in case (SIL is a mw so will be in the right place if anything happens!).

Aw, hope the preemie pulls through...someone on the July thread for last year with DD had theirs at 22wks...the DH had to rescues irate him before ambulance got there...was really touch & go & really emotional watching his journey. But pleased to report that he's a bouncing 1 yr old & defied all the odds after being born that early & only weighing 1lb...

Haven't really bought anything here tho I ordered at Jo Jo babygro & hat set for coming home in/1st outfit if a home birth... But will need to start getting Moses basket erc back from friends end aug/early September me thinks!

Grannyapple · 15/07/2014 09:19

Rescues irate=resuscitate!

YellowWellies · 15/07/2014 09:43

22 weeks wow that's just a day or so off the world record for survival!!!!!! He must have had to keep breathing for the baby until the medics got there as 22 week lungs don't breathe on their own. Wow!

Happytimes31 · 15/07/2014 10:09

At my last midwife appt, I asked when I needed to lug notes about (as my friend had been told off for not having hers when she went to triage, but she was quite far ahead of me) and the midwife said from 20 weeks!Shock So have been lugging since then, maybe that is because I am rhesus neg, don't know.. No other 'issues' though.

Kirstipops · 15/07/2014 10:14

I love the Eden Project, we brought a picnic too and had a great day!

fedupofrainydays · 15/07/2014 10:47

Hello. Anyone else really paranoid re stillbirth? Sorry to bring it up but I am. Not helped by a post on Facebook this morning about it being more common than we think and all areas should do that growth chart thing someone was talking about on here that my area just doesn't do :(
Generally feeling crap, tired, emotional and overwhelmed today.
Want to go home really and sack off work for the day. But then I have a 1.5 hour journey and builders being noisy at home so not sure what's worse. London is going to be 27 / 29 degrees this week and just that makes me feel ill and scared re the tube. Seriously contemplating my first sick / wfh day this pregnancy.

LondonJen · 15/07/2014 10:59

Does anyone want my hormones? I keep crying for no reason last few days. So far today though, no tears!

DP also pissing me off, oh I'm sorry is the fan a bit noisy, I do hope it isn't making your night uncomfortable? I stomped off to the spare room incredulous at his suggestion I switch it off and boil to death. Gah!

Glad your spotting was just that Tak1ng

LondonJen · 15/07/2014 11:08

Things like that have crossed my mind Fedup, tho I try not dwell on it. I also feel very strongly that everyone would do everything they could at a hospital to make things better re other situations. Are you using the natal hypno relaxation? Might help you feel less stressed?

If you can work from home or get some time off that sounds like a much better idea. I am roasting now but at least no tube to contend with. Hope you can sort working from home or something.

Pinkie2103 · 15/07/2014 11:18

We're off to Croatia in two weeks (and I'll be 27+2) so I think I might scan in the important pages so I have a copy with me. Have enough problems keeping the weight limit down on our bags without taking my notes too!

goats, as well as raspberry leaf tea and curry you could also try acupuncture. Other people swear by 6 medjool dates daily (yum), sex, pineapples, long walks/baths, walking sideways up stairs, 'insetring' evening primrose oil, bouncing on balls etc. I think I'll be trying all of the above as I am hoping for a VBAC and don't want to be induced again

ExcitedCJ · 15/07/2014 11:24

I'm at the blooming DOU again! My DD jumped on my stomach again! To make matters more tiring I am in work after this until 9pm! Least I might get to see bub! :)

HopefulHamster · 15/07/2014 11:41

fedup I am. Recently a friend of mine announced she was pregnant at a group meal and weirdly I felt jealous. But I think it's due to previous struggles a part of me is still expecting this pregnancy to get taken off me. I'm not assuming I'm getting a baby (though statistically I should), just hoping.

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 15/07/2014 12:37

Mine tend to sit in my car or dh's car so they're never far. I've been carrying them for ages now.

A condolences card is awful!!

gunwalloe · 15/07/2014 12:51

Blimey just had a full half hr lecture from my midwife I feel like a naughty school girl. End result I HAVE to have a GTT tomorrow and take more antibiotics :(

tak1ngchances · 15/07/2014 13:33

Hope you are ok CJ, let us know how you get on
