so happy to hear your update miraculous. Grin

Bettycakes80 · 22/07/2014 20:31

peace I am so hairy my DH has been calling me a monkey. I even seem to have hair on my tummy!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 22/07/2014 23:23

Went to see the new Planet of the Apes film tonight and feel marginally less hairy in retrospect.

LotsaTuddles · 23/07/2014 02:43

I'm slightly hairier than normal but not massively.

I'm getting dragged going to a hen night Saturday. I don't really want to go. There been issues with it from the beginning (myself and SiL were asked by the bride to organise it but then someone else that she's known 5 minutes took over) but anyway, I'm going. I'm not really PFB with DS, but it will be the first time that I've properly left him. DH has taken him shopping and to see his grandparents when I wasn't feeling great and other things like that, but I've never left him at home and gone out. I'm actually kind of scared

LotsaTuddles · 23/07/2014 10:16

Woohoo. Finally got my scan date, it's 6th August

Somersetgirl1990 · 23/07/2014 11:17

Peace were going to see the new planet of the apes tonight - how was it? I only saw the first one for the first time last week, was surprised I enjoyed it!

Yay for your scan date lotsa, that's not too far away Grin are you dingo out what you're having?

I'm trying really hard to be healthy, fruit and veg have been pretty much non existent in my diet since about week 5 so trying to be better for my little baby Grin

SassehMonsta · 23/07/2014 11:42

My diet is seriously lacking in most things.... might even resort to multivits as I know full well its horrendus. Living off toast, sandwiches, pasta and not much else. :/ Cant even blameit on sickness, more laziness!

Good news Miraculous! Very pleased for you - keep fighting twinnies!

Work-wise, I will have to go back, we can't afford for me not to. :( I'll take my 9-12 months and then will consider the future. Hopefully the replacement I am looking for will want to keep my job, then I can look for work closer to home (currently 45 mins drive).

I've bought pregnancare max because I felt guilty - I'm pretty sure it's a massive con and you can get everything that's in it from eating well but never mind! I've been living on any kind of potato and pasta (not together Grin) wouldn't be surprised if I have birth to a potato tbh

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/07/2014 12:09

It was good Somerset. The story was very predictable but had good action. The 3D frame rate was a bit pants but I'm a techno snob Grin a bit long so I'm glad we opted for premier seats! I go to the cinema so rarely it was a proper treat!

After my ultra crap day yesterday the evening really cheered me up. We went out for sushi which is my favourite thing in the world, but DH isn't keen, so I was most impressed that he tried so many things. Then cinema and he bought me a bucket of diet 7-Up Smile I'm easily pleased.

Work is too hot today, and I've got three days in a row coming up. I'm counting down the days to November.

SassehMonsta · 23/07/2014 14:45

Agreed with work that my maternity leave can start the end of October :D Met my consultant yesterday and she was nice, was one of the Drs who treated me when I was admitted into hospital for dehydration/HG at 9 weeks :) Lovely Dr! Was referred due to my own lung disease and also family history of other diseases - she has no problems with the family history ones, as while they are both hereditary, they are both recessive and my husband hasn't got either (as far as we know - ones very rare!). As for my lungs, she just wants to keep an eye on me and let them knw if I get an infection etc etc. I think I will able to have a water birth if I want one as I am medium risk (so long as nothing changes) but still no word on if I can use the midwife-led unit or not. Heard heartbeat for the first time, and my sister (who was there as DH couldn't make it) squeaked out loud! Bless.

Bought a fetal heart monitor off amazon. Shhhh! Its actually amazing, I can find babys heartbeat quite easily and its amazing. Can't wait for DH to get home and have a listen! I have recorded a few bits of it, but the live feed through the headphones sound MUCH better.

Scan tomorrow, probably hear heartbeat again! 19+4

Thats the other thing - dog is being very barky and overprotective of me in recent weeks. Driving me potty in the house, barking at neighbours making noise, birds, insects, cats! and not sure if its weather related or "protecting" me because Im pregnant. Grrrrr. Also trying to train him out of barking at the doorbell but he can't do that either...

Good scan today - stable enough. Scan booked Friday with the TTTS specialist/ surgeon at the other hospital so we can meet her team and she can judge things for herself. In good hands and holding up well. Also getting quite large...

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/07/2014 15:24

Yay Miraculous!

I totally forgot to mention this in my sushi-coma. When the film was just starting (it was loud), I had my hand on my tummy and I could feel humming/vibrating/something weird, so I put DH's hand there without saying anything and he said he felt the same thing! Squee! Feels far too early to be proper movement, but whatever!

Ladylel · 23/07/2014 16:02

We had our scan update Tuesday and turns out that Baby boy 2 with the small femur is still is a bit small for their liking but nothing drastic and basically it can be a number of things as to why; they mentioned chromosomes and abnormalities and also an amniocentesis but I've refused any thing invasive that might put either twin at risk as if something was wrong we wouldn't terminate the pregnancy anyway - their exact words were 'what would you do with the information if it was 'bad''. At the end of the day they had to give us all possible possibilities and scenerios as they are doing their job. They arnt recommending anything or saying I should do this or that they are just Giving us the facts and it's up to us how we want to continue. so apart from him being smaller it could just Be genetic as it is, as I'm short and OH is tall, it's all completely normal his own placenta is on the small side so he's getting the nutrients and as everything else suitable for his needs and he is fine and no other issues. We feel there isn't anything me and OH feel we should be concerned about especially as overall he may be small but he's in proportion for his size but does mean I have to have scans every 2 weeks for growth checks so get to see bubs again on 5th August!

CatFaceCrayola · 23/07/2014 17:28

Broke up from school today! Such a relief. 6 weeks off!

I've eaten absolute crap today (lots of end of year parties!) and now feel quite unwell.

And this heat is torture!

20+5

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/07/2014 17:51

So jel Catface!! I've decided to ask for my maternity to start on 14th November and I'm literally counting down the days Hmm I do actually enjoy my job, but it's so so so hard in the heat and pregnant.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 23/07/2014 18:10

Had scan yesterday. They couldnt see everthing in the heart they wanted so am back in a week.Sad

College plus manic work plus baby has sent me into a tailspin and I couldn't stop crying this morning. Work sent me home on special leave. Seeing Dr tomorrow morning.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 23/07/2014 18:12

How far before everyones due dates are you taking Maternity?

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/07/2014 18:58

Oh BigHairy good luck for your second scan. Hope everything is alright.

If I take mine on 14th Nov that'll be 6 weeks-ish before EDD. I was considering 1st Dec but ehh. Another month's wages would be useful, but two weeks will suffice.

What about everyone else?

CatFaceCrayola · 23/07/2014 18:59

I was thinking it'd be logical to finish for mat leave at October half term, but I've just looked at the dates and that'd be 6 weeks before my due date, which may be a bit too long. Ideally I want to keep working as long as possible. Guess I'll have to see how much of a struggle work is when I return in September!

monkeybaby2 · 23/07/2014 20:12

For DD I worked until 38w but I commute 1.5 hours into London every day and it was too much really. I wouldn't recommend working that late. This time I'm planning on working to 36w but my mw made a face when I told her and said I should think about it some more and not push myself too hard. Frankly work will need me as long as they can so I reckon I can work 2 days a week from home and only commute in 2 days non-consecutively. DD was well late though so I still had 4 weeks off before she arrived! My mates who delivered early said they really felt cheated out of that baby free mat leave though so it's a fine line to walk!

SassehMonsta · 23/07/2014 20:43

Mine will be 6-7 weeks before baby is due. I'll go mad (I have today, with DH at work and no-one to talk to and no energy) but I don't think I'll be up for much after that - I know what my current working conditions are like and I know what its like at that time of year as well. Plus, the sooner Im off the better, as removes a stress from me.

Finally made it off my arse and went swimming, which cooled me down enough for a food shop. Phew. We won't be eating just instant noodles for dinner again at least for a few days! Also realised I am eating 2-3 bananas a day. Any issues that might arise from this? No idea - love em!

Visiting in-laws tomorrow, as we haven't seen them for weeks. They are going to LOVE the bump :)

I'm finishing 2weeks before, I wanted to work as long as I can to have more time with baby afterwards, just hoping that s/he doesn't arrive early eek!

ImBrian · 23/07/2014 20:48

I'm planning on starting my maternity leave on my due date. I'm a teacher and after 18 weeks maternity pay goes to smp and I'll have to go back to work full time so I want as much time with baby as possible.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/07/2014 21:17

Haha I feel like the odd one out! Everyone seems to want/need to work as much as poss. My job is going to get more and more difficult to physically manage as I get further along. I lug boxes and bags around, run up and down stairs, deal with shitheads and have to put a happy face on in front of customers. So practically I think six weeks is a good plan. Plus I'm lazy and I like sleeping.
