Ooh £200 to visualise flowers opening up!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 15/07/2014 17:31

Sorry that sounded quite facetious!! ConfusedGrin

littlepickly · 15/07/2014 17:44

Ha ha it's ok, I'm v.sceptical myself but trying to latch on to something that will help with having a home birth! I can't see myself paying out that much.

tillymonster · 15/07/2014 17:45

ooh, felt baby move (from the outside of belly) today, very exciting! By the time I had called DH over, baby had hidden.. typical...! It felt much like a strong heartbeat (but obviously not as regularly "beating").

We've signed up for the "essentials" NCT class (it's the only one they offer around here), but we had to sign up for the "mid Oct to Nov babies" class as the next one was "jan to feb baby" class, and it went on past my EDD! Obviously having babies in Dec is not allowed!

Got my 20 wk scan tomorrow, cannot wait on one hand, on the other, nervous as anything... still, nothing I can do about it tonight!

TM 19+5

Ladylel · 15/07/2014 18:04

our scan was very exciting, sonography got a bit uptight with me and DH (mainly DH) asking so many questions when she had barely started lol, she seemed to warm up once she told us it 'wasn't an anatomy lesson' and to wait for her to do what she had to do check wise.

Also good tip, don't ask for gender as soon as you walk in, they like to stress its for finding anomalies not for sexing etc, like i sad she did warm up and said oh by the way did you want to know the genders.

I need help, I need boys names that go with Jones as a surname, avoiding j first names along with c and L (mine and DH initials) don't want anything that rhymes, not keen on them being the same initials as reading up on twins seems that when they get older they'll want to be their own people and not keep being referred to as 'the twins'

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 15/07/2014 18:12

Ladylel our sonographer was the same at 12 week scan, "I know it's very exciting, but I've just got to do this before I answer any questions". Oops! That was us told.

What style of names are you keen on? Traditional, modern, quirky, biblical, inspired by anything in particular? Elvish? Grin

Sooo funny story. I desperately need new bras, but after measuring myself, Debenhams didn't stock my size, and it was too hot and sweaty to get measured, so I ordered some online thinking I'd send them back if they were wrong. The first one arrived today and one cup is bigger than my (frankly enormous) head. Seriously, absolutely hilariously too big. I asked my mum what size she is (she's had three children and has the biggest bust I've ever seen) and even she is FOUR cup sizes smaller than I'd measured myself as. This is why I don't do maths. Still bra-less Hmm

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 15/07/2014 19:07

At my 12 weeks the baby flipped and waggled and it made me laugh. Then the sonographer told me off for laughing which made me laugh more. He just sighed and prodded me harder with the poky scanning stick. Which hurt.

I've got 6 days till my next scan. Excitedly bricking it. Going to find out the sex, but not going to tell anyone.

monkeybaby2 · 15/07/2014 20:17

Peace are you anywhere near a Bravissimo? They are the bomb for big boobs :)

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 15/07/2014 20:21

But BigHairy SURELY you are going to tell us?!

I went to a Bravissimo but they don't do my size Hmm was too ashamed to ask for a fitting, and sceptical because I fear they would have tried to flog me something too small to get a sale.

Ladylel · 15/07/2014 20:21

Well we're liking Rueben so something that sits nicely - even tho it's a C name DH likes Chandler (massive friends fan, a girl would have been phoebe) Paul and Jude will be middle names. Got a good few weeks to make permanent decisions.

I had to get up and go for a walk (specifically up and down stairs) so baby 2 would get in a good position for a heart beat/scan.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 15/07/2014 20:33

Ladylel in the bible one of Reuben's brothers was Judah so Jude is quite a fateful choice! I'm not religious in the slightest, but I have always had a weakness for bible stories, and I'm crazy about biblical names!

Ladylel · 15/07/2014 20:45

I'm sure I read that somewhere definately think we're going with rueben Jude - Paul is my dads name and seeing so I dropped his surname when I got married I thought it would be a nice honourable touch for him. Got a soft spot for maxwell for some reason.

Altho it's for check up reasons am looking forward to seeing bubs again next week :) really hoping I don't need any extra special tests involving needles tho :/

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 15/07/2014 20:48

Maxwell and Rueben are fantastic. Also love Maxwell and Jude. Paul and Rueben is good too. Such good combos!

monkeybaby2 · 15/07/2014 20:48

They won't I promise and people rarely walk out the same size they went in. There's no obligation to buy from a fitting and it might help you find the bras you want online?

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 15/07/2014 20:58

The only bras I can buy on the high street are Triumph Doreen ones. My mum is coming over on Thursday so she's going to measure me and we can compare results. It's quite embarrassing getting measured in Debenhams even and saying "just tell me what size I am so I can order online as I know you have nothing for me". I don't think I could bear doing it in a lovely swanky Bravissimo. Oh self-pity.

monkeybaby2 · 15/07/2014 21:02

big boobs are a pain the arse.

Taura · 15/07/2014 21:28

ladylel are you spelling it Rueben? Reuben is more usual I think - avoid people misspelling it through his life (I have a name that people always seem to get wrong, so I know the misery if there is room for confusion!) I do like the name however one of my friends got in first so my oddson (see earlier!) is Reuben.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 15/07/2014 21:39

I did wonder about the spelling, actually, but figured it was deliberate! Do tell, Ladylel!

I love the name Christian for a boy, but unfortunately people would probably shorten it to Chris and then he'd have the same name as an unpopular ginger-haired DJ Confused no.

CatFaceCrayola · 15/07/2014 21:55

Had a busy few days so just been catching up.

Feeling and looking ma-hoosive! A number of people have commented on it. My favourite being an old lady I know "we'll find out the gender on Friday". Her: "oh you're doing well to stay active if you're due on Friday" me: " no, it's the scan on friday" her: "oh sorry, you do look very big though"

Not really feeling any movement which is a bit worrying :/

My lower back is absolutely killing me. Proper stabbing pains.

Lost the plot today at school. Couple of children were kicking off big style, I burst into tears in the middle of class :( luckily the learning mentor (who was trying to deal with the stopping kids) was lovely and let me go get a drink and compose myself. Not a good day at all. Got home, went straight to bed and cried for about an hour and then was so drained by it that all I could do was sleep. So I reckon it'll be another sleepless night tonight. Sounds ridiculous but I'm not sure I can cope with the 5.5 days before summer holidays begin :(

Only 3 days til scan though.

I would really like to do the re-useable nappy option. Worried about being able to get stuff dry though (we don't have a dryer)

CatFaceCrayola · 15/07/2014 21:56

Aww I like Chris Evans :)

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 15/07/2014 22:09

Not all Chris Evans' are equal. Case in point: Chris Evans

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 15/07/2014 22:17

Hahaha I forgot about the American actor!

Taura · 15/07/2014 22:17

My hips are just so sore today (I was going to write agony, but then where would I have to go when/if they get worse). Not helped by sitting, standing, walking, driving, cycling (I've not cycled for a couple of weeks now), sleeping etc. Etc. Please please I hope it is only temporary. Going to see if I can get an antenatal physio referral.

Ladylel · 15/07/2014 22:23

LOL feel a bit on he spot now. Ummmm Spelling it as you pronounce the letters so ru e(oo) Ben, other half spells it without the e at all which would be easier - will have to really look at it.
My other half is a Chris and my name is spelt ie or ey. Constant confusion. It's ey wedding invites all had my name on, FB had my name on, email signatures at work have my name

Ladylel · 15/07/2014 22:23

And people still spell it wrong!!! Wahhh!
