Aw balls faife. Sorry about that. Fools.

fankle, I went off red meat in the first tri and still don't have much of a taste for it (sob. Before it was my favouritest meal and had it blue), but I did have a regular glass of wine. More so in third tri (maybe 2 glasses wine/week) but occasional from much earlier. Well done steak is shite and steak without red wine makes no sense. Treat yourself.

My hospital really isn't posh... In fact, I wonder if most of their punters don't bring the essentials so more is provided?

Tis a cliche, but true that the baybees grown up quick. R is rolling and sitting and getting his own little (obtuse, stubborn) personality. Speaking of posh, we've put his name down for a local private school ShockBlush. Not really my thing, but turns out schools are really really (realllllly) over subscribed here and there's no guarantee he'd get any place at what I'd call an acceptable travel distance. And we know our local comp head teacher socially. He says his school is shit!

eurochick · 28/08/2014 19:29

fankle I had the occasional glass after the first tri. Probably about 6 glasses in total. I did my research and felt comfortable that low alcohol intake has no effect on anything. I also went off red meat during pregnancy. We were given swanky steak knives for Christmas. We used them on NYE and then the food aversions started and they were left in the cupboard until after I had laid.

wink I know what you mean about the growing up. Part of me loves seeing Charlotte putting on weight. Another part misses my microbaby! I'm enjoying seeing her personality come through.

Elocution lessons, faif. How very cool. Poo about the job though.

I'm now panicking about schools, sinks. I'm also worried about not sorting out childcare for when I go back to work, but it's impossible without knowing whether or not we will have moved and if so, to where.

Holding your pinky Fankle!

FrankelandFilly · 29/08/2014 08:34

Good luck Fankle

Sorry about the job Faith that sucks.

I'm in a world of crap sleep at the moment and feel like I'm barely functioning, so excuse my lack of posting. Just a few days before my parents get here to relieve the pressure & hopefully HWHNN will be back on Tuesday for a few days.

fankle hope all's gone well this afternoon

bugs your boss has been, and continues to be, an utter tosser.

frank are your parents the sort to be helpful? Hope you get some rest soon.

MiniWinks was unimpressed by her jabs, to say the least, but as predicted I was worse. Calm has resumed now, she's asleep and I'm about to catch up on Bake Off.

GingerScouse · 29/08/2014 15:30

That sucks about the job faif. They don't know what they've passed up.

I'm very proud of my little chunk. She's regained half of what she'd lost from birth in 2 days! And I can't even say it was helped by her needing to fill her nappy - she'd already left it as a present for the midwife! Grin And the heel prick test didn't bother her at all!

Fankletastic · 29/08/2014 17:14

All's good with Fanklet! They got a good view of the heart and stomach this time so it all looked fine and normal. Just what I wanted to hear! I'd bought emergency chocolate in case of a repeat of last time...having heard that chocolate can get them moving

Thanks for the toe and pinky holds ladies

Faif sorry about the job. How long have you been back at work? I'm considering not going back to my job . I work mainly from home for an American company...I'm all by myself here and there is frequent travel and nights away. Even if I could do the job part time and cut back on the travel, the thought of working from home plus being at home with a baby on the other days just makes me feel depressed. I'm pretty sure that when I decide to go back to work I will want to get up, wear something nice, leave the house, go to an actual office and see actual people. Yes, my job might be convenient and flexible with a baby, but I can see myself climbing the walls in reality.

Bugs wot Winks said. Pah. You'll be hanging up your hat there for a while in no time at all.

If I have a small glass of wine tonight then my plans to have a glass or two whilst on holiday next week may have to be reconsidered.

Fankletastic · 29/08/2014 17:17

Oh and yay for Miniginge chunking up and being bold and brave!

Franke have a sardine of sleep, a salmon of solace and a fish finger of functioning.

CuntyChops · 29/08/2014 17:32

Yay for Fanklet!

Excellent news, fankle. I hope you can relax a bit now.

Hurrah for miniginge's weight gain - that's brilliant.

I am starting to get in the swing of being at home on my own with C and managed my first daytime nap today. I feel so much better for it. I am not really much of a napper but it is the only way to get through the early weeks I think.

FrankelandFilly · 29/08/2014 18:59

Euro I'm still taking naps now! I'm not much of a napper either but I find if I can just get 20 minutes it makes a real difference. Now if inky my baby would sleep for longer!

Fankle so glad you got good scan results, enjoy the emergency chocolate!

Ginge great weight gain! How are you getting in with feeding?

Winks my folks will help out, normally when they come they take E off me to put her down for a nap and then deal with her when she wakes up so that I can get a bit of sleep. They also cook dinner while I give her a bath and put her to bed.

Fabulous news, fankle and ginge! Grin

Glad the jabbage went okay, winks - and let us know what you think of this week's Highly Controversial Bake Off... Shock

Good news about sleep, euro. I don't really nap except once every few weeks or so, but then we've been lucky that the calf has slept in approx three hour stretches at night since she's been born, which allows enough real sleep. Mind you, it's only been fairly recently that she'll sleep in the pram during the day rather than on me, so I couldn't have napped anyway what with sofa danger and all.

Brilliant news Fankle! So glad it's all positive. I'm with my cousin-in-laws at the moment, his wife is due the week after you!

I went back to work when Faithlet was 9 months old. Only 2 long shifts a week though.

Bleugh bugs. That sounds vile.

fankle I am hoping to work from home a bit when I go back. At least that way I would get to spend the commuting time with C. I'm planning to go back in the New Year, when she will be 5 and a half months old. The plan is then for Vic to take a couple of months off before we put her into childcare.

GingerScouse · 30/08/2014 20:51

I am finding breastfeeding hard. Our latch isn't quite right so my nips are pretty sore and E is taking on a lot of air, which causes her pain. Off to the local bf cafe on Monday for some advice, but will be buying shields tomorrow in the meantime.

TheOriginalWinkly · 30/08/2014 21:27

ginge in the meantime do you have lots of lansinoh to apply? Also air dry your nips and download a copy of The Womanly Art Of Breastfeeding for good advice on latching. Has mini ginge been checked for tongue tie (by someone competent?)

I am slapping on the lansinoh like it's going out of fashion. Just bought some shields to try to give my nips a bit of a break.
