With you on the menkul Fank! Could baby have just been asleep at the last scan? We didn't see much movement at our 12 week scan, apart from tilting the head, which had me menkulling for a couple of weeks. I managed to convince myself that it takes after me and enjoys a good sleep.

Hello to cunty and fank, good to see you. Yes the ever changing body is strange. I was most disturbed by the growth of my bum!

bugs it's interesting but not very accurate. My predicted 50th centile came out teeny tiny on 0.4th centile!

ALittleFaith · 26/08/2014 09:22

Er, there should be a baby in that sentence!

Fankletastic · 26/08/2014 10:07

Thanks Winks and Cunty for the luck and toe holds for Friday. The scanner lady was unconcerned and just said everything looked fine. But that's all she said really. She was actually very silent for 20 minutes, which has been bothering more ever since...a stewing menkul if you will. Throw in the fact that I'm still not sure I'm feeling movement and I've got a hearty bowl of menkul soup in front of me. I'm just hoping Fanklet was sleeping and that he/she will be awake and lively and facing in the right bloody direction come Friday afternoon.

My main bodily changes are my new enormoboobs complete with road map of blue veins. Also my belly button is a lot more shallow and my laparoscopy scar is more bumpy and obvious now. The back ache is the most annoying thing. And the heartburn. Have stocked up on Gaviscon.

Let's hope this week goes fast ladies!

Yes, we saw the heartbeat briefly before she turned off the screen to do her measurements. We told her we didn't want to know the sex so she turned off the screen in case we saw any bits! I'm 21+1 today.
Wish this wasn't so bloody scary. I'd told myself I would menkul no more after the 20 week scan (at 19+5). Now I have to wait until 21+5 for the reassurance I was hoping for. In my head I know that I'm being a loon and that everything must surely be ok. But it's just that flicker of doubt because they didn't get all the heart and stomach measurements. And the no movement ishoo....which may not be an ishoo at all. But then again, what if it is...?

Thanks for the reassuring appendage holds.

RaspberrySnowCone · 26/08/2014 11:13

waves back at Cunty. Probably the best BESH/PESH name ever I believe. Don't think we've met so hello!

Rasp, that all sounds brilliant. It is so good to hear from you.

Scans are immensely stressful but they would have said if they saw something untoward. It will all be fine, honest.

C's eye has recovered. However she now seems to have developed reflux and turned into a puke monster. Today is my first day of being on my own with her at home as Vic has gone back to work and I am already on my third lot of washing...

RaspberrySnowCone · 26/08/2014 15:59

Just had a call to say home study will start Monday next week, meetings once a week for the next 8/9 weeks. At this rate I might not be far behind some of the newbie PESH. Blimey.

SinkyMalinks · 26/08/2014 16:35

Wow Rasp - things really are moving for you. I can't remember you're other halfs acronym. Is he ok with the speed? (did you say he was a bit shocked by how quickly everything was happening? Or did I imagine that?!)

Glad C's eye is better Euro. R is constantly dropping hard plastic toys on his face and throwing himself backwards when sitting and bashing his head. No permanent marks so far

Frank, tried the banana in skin trick today - worked quite well, but (obviously) it is much more fun to throw food at me or the cat so not much went in.. Hmm

MATV is the name for the other half. He's ok with it, we chatted loads over the last few weeks and he wanted to push on, adoption was his preference over IVF from the word go really so he's happy although he's as surprised as me at the speed.

I'm always jealous of how bendy babies are. If my little uns are willing and able I'll definitely be encouraging some gymnastics because once it's gone it's gone!

RaspberrySnowCone · 26/08/2014 16:59

That was in response to bugs baby toe sucking!

FrankelandFilly · 26/08/2014 17:04

Rasp how good to hear from you, and sounds like things are progressing rapidly. Hope the meetings go well.

Nice to see you both Cunty and Fankle, as others have said movement can be a bit hit and miss to start with and if the bean is sat near the back you will hardly feel a thing until they are bigger.

Euro glad C's eye is better, and yes to the lots of washing! I've managed to get it down to every other day now!

Sinks glad the banana trick worked! I shall give it a go myself with E in the the next few weeks. I've been warned that the mess with BLW can be epic so I've just ordered some of those coverall bibs with sleeves!
I saw your pic of R and his lovely knitted trousers in t'other place Wink he's standing really well! E hasn't shown any interest in standing yet, I try and hold her up in a standing position on a daily basis but her knees just buckle. I think her weight might be preventing it for now Wink

E's very much in "leap" territory at the moment: she's been a right grumpy pants for a few days and her sleep is awful, she had me out of bed pretty much every 45 minutes through the night and I'm shattered. I think teeth are doing things again so I've been applying teething gel and have got her one of those amber necklaces which is probably total woo but I'm willing to give it a shot!

maamalady · 26/08/2014 17:10

Fabulous news, rasp! Really pleased for you :) And yes, it is me who loves GoT - hooray for another convert! Try the books too, they're long and complex but wonderful.

Excellent scan news, bugs!

We took the calf swimming yesterday, she was beyond cute (though howled when we were drying and dressing her afterwards). She really seems to love water, so we'll probably be signing up to baby swimming classes soonish :)

Oh that's awful Sad I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry too much. If you're feeling movements every day then odds are things are fine with Buglet.

RaspberrySnowCone · 26/08/2014 19:29

You've had a good scan though Bugs, as Frank says try not to worry. It's horrible, but it's rare that anything happens at this stage.

It is, life is incredibly cruel when it wants to be. But I guess you can only take each day as it comes, you are so close now, it won't be long before you have LO snuggled up with you :)

Nope, but it will come :) and then Buglet will be 18 and leaving home ....or so I'm told by the Walls Sausages advert. Still my favourite!
