Hi,

Tentative post here - got 2 faint BFPs on Sun/Mon (period only due yesterday.
EDD seems to be between Feb 28 - March 1st depending on whether I use standard 28 day cycle or adjust to my 30 day one.
DC2 for me - DS was 8 days late so think I'm more likely to belong in the March club than Feb.

Will do another test in a couple of days to get the elusive dark line so I don't think I'm making it up

Hope someone else joins me soon.

Mrsw grim. Nick a load of sick bags next time you're on a plane..

muchostinky · 18/07/2014 08:27

Oh no Mrs. How yuck! But thanks for the heads up about the bags.

MGFM · 18/07/2014 08:28

boucesky I'm sure she will come round. Until then you can borrow my mother if you like? She squealed with excitement and then spent the rest of the evening telling me what I could and couldn't do.

  1. Not allowed to get the Nuchal Test for Downs. (She is Irish Catholic and thinks the only reason anyone would get that is so they can consider an abortion)
  2. Not allowed to find out the sex.
  3. No dummies.
  4. Must use re-usable nappies.

Im sure this is just the beginning. She means well but she is very forthright with some of her beliefs. My dad just told me to ignore her and do whatever I want lol.

I am lucky they are very excited and they are already talking about getting my old cot out of the garage and finding baby blankets in the loft and starting knitting. It is their first grandchild.

I think today is going to be a scorcher! I hope everyone has a great weekend :)

M27J5M · 18/07/2014 08:51

Morning ladies! What a horrible nights sleep, bf woke me coming to bed n snored for ages, eventually got to sleep the the wee man for up, he'd had an accident, spent the next few hours trying not to be sick :( eventually got back to sleep.....grumpy bum today!!

How did you manage to work out you knew them eatscake? I could be speaking to my best friend on here and still not work it out :/

bradderswantsababy · 18/07/2014 09:14

Hello everyone I'd I like to join this lovely March group. Got my BFP on Monday and clear blue shows 4 weeks so due date of 24th March. Let's face it I'll probably fall in the April group but I'd like to stay here if that's ok?

Sore boobs ahoy here which is the only tell tail sign and hoping I escape morning sickness like I did with DS. He is just 2 so keeping me busy which is good as I'm trying to put being pregnant to the back if my mind as it's super early day( I am totally failing tho!)

Got my booking in apt 20th Aug which seems like forever and we are going to keep baby news a secret until after 12 week scan. Hope everyone is feeling well x

northdownmummy · 18/07/2014 09:19

Baby brain has kicked in already, my healthy pre prepared lunch is sitting on the counter at home.

That and I couldn't remember my password to login thus morning after resetting it yesterday.

KeeperOfTheZoo · 18/07/2014 09:30

Eeeww Mrs hope you're feeling a bit better now - at least you had a bag with you, albeit a holey one. It could've been worse! (that's me joining in with the positive thinking by the way!! Smile).

Now for the negativity - I thought yesterday how wonderfully well I was feeling...well today I feel pretty crap. Horrible cramps, queasy and burning up. Oh well, I'm sure it'll pass...

Bouncesky I can't believe your Mum's reaction. I am slightly nervous about telling my MIL but only because she was pretty non-reactive when we told her about DS. Now she is a bit of an over-bearing PITA and won't put him down and that bugs me because she barely waned to know when we told her he was coming. Still, I couldn't imagine any parent reacting like yours has.

Is there anybody here who has only had positives on supermarket tests but now suddenly, days later, feels the urge to go and get a digi?? I've made my MW appointment, I know full well I'm pregnant after 2 very strong positives that came up within 10 seconds, but I think I'm going to splash out this afternoon so that I can actually see the word and number of weeks. Am I being ridiculous???

KeeperOfTheZoo · 18/07/2014 09:32

Welcome Bradders! I think my EDD is 23rd March so we're pretty much at the same stage.

ohfourfoxache · 18/07/2014 09:47

Morning everyone!

Bouncesky that's not exactly an ideal reaction from your mum Sad How are you doing?

Keeper fwiw I'm shitting myself over telling PILs. FIL takes disinterested to a whole new level (unless of course you count dishing out advice that you absolutely must follow or else counts as interested). Mil is just a complete pita. When we got engaged she wore her engagement ring for the first time in ages, as she had "been there before, she'd got engaged to FIL and she knew what it was all about" Hmm

Are you sure that you're not supposed to have copious amounts of Wine through pregnancy? I have a horrible feeling hat I may need it......

persepolis123 · 18/07/2014 10:49

Yes I keep getting a wet feeling down below too and rushing off to the toilet in a panic because I think it’s blood.

brummie Exactly the same here. Last time I found out I was pregnant, can’t remember what day it was but I started bleeding on the Friday the week after I found out. When I get to seven or eight weeks I will feel a bit better hopefully.

bouncesky I can't believe your mum is being like that Sad

Trondheim · 18/07/2014 12:25

Had bleeding for last 24 hours so went to gp who sent me for a scan. Bleeding apparently ok but baby very small for dates, I've been demoted to 6+5 (from 7+3) and got to go back in two weeks. I definitely have the date of last period wrong, is it possible my ovulation is weird? Or is the baby just too small?

smokeandglitter · 18/07/2014 12:28

Sorry about your mum's reaction Bouncesky, how are you doing?

Also welcome to other's who've joined after! Grin

Dr's appt went well - had been worried as it was a male but he was utterly brilliant. Booking me in for an early scan in a couple of weeks because of two previous miscarriages and contacting my CMHT as they're pretty famous for not getting their arses in gear for anything and I need info re meds and pregnancy. Anyone been under ISIS before? Are they good?

Anyone else feeling utterly exhausted? I don't have an excuse as no other children, just two mad cats to keep me busy... and a husband. Anyway, off to Battle Proms at Hatfield House tomorrow during forecast of thunder and lightening, my hopes are as follows: 1. We don't get electrocuted and 2. The rousing music keeps me awake!

Told DH about the partner's bit on pregnancy+ app that said tiredness means it would be great if he contributed to housework and nausea meant breakfast in bed is a good idea. His response was "So, you're not just making my breakfast now, I get it in bed? Yay!" Shock Wink What a joker!

smokeandglitter · 18/07/2014 12:31

Trondheim, that must be worrying. ((hugs)) No experience myself, but had a friend who measured small all the way through, she has cycles that are longer than 28 days and baby was born 5lb1oz but happy and healthy. She didn't smoke and ate well and BMI was normal before starting.

persepolis123 · 18/07/2014 12:32

What a worry trondheim. I hope it all works out ok for you. It's possible that you didn't ovulate when they/you think you did, everybody is different.

I know when I do the mumsnet due date calculator it tells me the date I conceived but I believe it was about four days later than that because I didn't get a positive ovulation test until three days later.

Have you just come off contraception or is your cycle longer than the 28 day average? Both these could mean you didn't ovulate when they would expect and might mean the baby would measure smaller.

ApplebyMennym · 18/07/2014 12:43

Trondheim it's very likely that you just have a longer cycle so you're in the same position as me, 28 days is the "default" but the sonographer yesterday was saying to me that it really can vary a lot.

KeeperOfTheZoo · 18/07/2014 12:48

Trondheim - thinking of you, hoping everything will be ok.

OhFour - as far as my MIL is concerned there are 2 ways to do things - her way and the wrong way...!

Brummiegirl15 · 18/07/2014 13:03

Hah perse I know all about the wet feeling!!! But am ok for the moment... In my head I need to get past this weekend. Although at hairdressers at moment and feel as sick as a dog and that I might actually throw up and be sick in my handbag

So that can only be a good sign!!!

smokeandglitter · 18/07/2014 13:40

Just wondering, that leaflet that was posted earlier (from NZ?) said don't eat shop bought salad? I bought one. Should I avoid it? It seems a bit odd? No eggs or anything - just leafy greens and some cherry tomatoes. Would wash it prior to eating. Also sundried tomatoes, are they ok?

fourmonthstogo · 18/07/2014 14:09

Smoke, are you in the UK? If so I'd follow the nhs guidance, which doesn't suggest avoiding salads. HTH.

FoscarC · 18/07/2014 14:22

Hi everyone. I have been away on a course with work and as is always the case all at camps have absolutely no phone signal so will try and have a look back and catch up. I hope everyone is ok.

I had some brown discharge on Wednesday. Not a lot, but still some which has absolutely scared the shit out of me. It's got better. Very very mild spotting of brown yesterday and today, which I probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't been examining my discharge like a lady possessed. No cramps or anything else. I know it's apparently normal but I can not wait to see the midwife on Tuesday (booking in appt) for some reassurance. My dh thinks I was doing too much. The course was pretty full on from 0800 - 2230 every day. So he's probably right. Am going to rest a lot this weekend and hope it all goes back to normal. Still having queasiness and huge sore boobs so symptoms still here. Just petrified of either cm or ectopic.

FoscarC · 18/07/2014 14:23

Mc, not cm.

fishfingerSarnies · 18/07/2014 14:39

Hello ladies, can I join please

edd 23 march this will be baby number 2, I have a dd who's two in a couple of weeks.

Feeling a little nervous as I don't have any symptoms really, hoping all is fine, don't feel like it's real. Wish I hadn't tested so early last time round I'd missed 2 periods before I tested.

Could do with some support just to tell me I'm not too mad to be worrying about no sign of symptoms I know it's early days.

Good luck to every one.x

notoasthere · 18/07/2014 14:46

Welcome fishfinger

trond babies all grow at different rates. Lots of women will have an early scan, have their dates put back, then be rescanned and have them put forward again

notoasthere · 18/07/2014 14:48

And yes foscar lots of rest for you!

I'm heading home after a day of playgroup and playdates, I find my tiredness is greatly exacerbated by travelling. Still a bit green, still got sore boobs, but also feel pretty normal - it really hasn't sunk in at all

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 18/07/2014 15:14

God. I nearly hurled at toddler group today. Had to sneak into the kitchen and 'fess up to the lovely church ladies doing teas and coffees so they'd give me a biscuit ahead of schedule. Think Imust have been a bit pale. It is horrible hot and muggy though. Feel much better lying on the sofa in my undies. Luckily DS seems to agree with me except he's gone the whole hog and is pottling around in the buff. By god but toddlers have luscious bottoms - and his is covered in blonde fuzz. I can't believe I'm going to be lucky enough to have another little monster that I'll love this much :)
