Great news yellow! Soon it will be us, eeeek!

glad the baby's moving again fedup! I had the same on Sunday, managed to resist the urge to run to the doctor and sure enough, at 2am, there she was, beating me. They told me not to worry about counting until 28weeks as there's still too much room for them to be kicking the wrong way, or floating about.

At a check up yesterday, the doctor told me again that I was 'too fat'. I told her her scales were faulty and then bought pizza on the way home. Poor baby. I have a new scan on Tuesday, hopefully she's stopped trying to strangle herself now and for once everything looks good!

I'm so impressed by some of your exercising! I'm still on 'rest' so am glued to the sofa, annoying.

ohthegoats · 03/07/2014 06:58

Went to Nct last night, where out of 6 women, I was the only one who could sit on the floor. Because I haven't felt like myself, I've been pretty moany, but I forget that actually so far, despite the injecting of heparin and being allegedly high risk, I've had a really easy time of being pregnant. Assume therefore awful birth and child that still wakes in the night until it's 18!

magichandles · 03/07/2014 07:28

I'm starting to find sitting on the floor annoying goats, I can manage the sitting, getting up again is more of an issue. DS has SALT group sessions at the moment and it involves an hour of sitting with them on the floor, or in DS's cases getting up constantly to chase after him.

I'm feeling ok at the moment - I'm a bit worried that I'm going to crash this weekend though as DH and I are heading up to Yorkshire for the Tour and he's planned a very pregnancy unfriendly itinerary - I'm worried I'm going to be knackered/ squashed and far from toilets when I need one!

mrsb87 · 03/07/2014 07:47

Oh dear magic! Doesn't sound like my idea of fun right now. Last day of the working week for me today, wondering whether I might get a breakfast bap from greggs on my way in. I have the midwife coming for a home visit on Saturday, after this its every 2 weeks!
Does anyone else keep waking up with really achey legs? It's hard to explain but it's not numbness or cramp but it's bloody annoying!

binkybunny · 03/07/2014 07:51

Also heading to the Tour in Yorkshire this weekend. Really annoyed mum and dad as they were planning on running here there and everywhere with DH anc me until I pointed out I'm struggling yo walk a couple of miles at a slow pace. We are now seeing it at the end of their street on Sat and one place on Sunday.

Then looking forward to a week at the coast and North Yorkshire moors doing absolutely f-all!

binkybunny · 03/07/2014 07:53

mrsb is it like restless leg syndrone. Keeps me awake nearly every night bloody annoying!

tak1ngchances · 03/07/2014 08:06

Mrs B yes I got the v sore legs. I elevate my feet on a pillow now when I go to bed for an hour and that helps. Am also drinking loads more water which seems to be making a difference.

I going to have to wear a maxi dress to work today, whether it looks professional or not. Too hot for anything else in London!

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 03/07/2014 08:14

Congratulations to your friend yellow, can't wait until its us posting announcements! I am getting a bit impatient now, feels like it will be forever until i can cuddle my Squish!

DS is driving me mad this morning, he woke up before 6am (should definitely be illegal!) & then barely touched his breakfast, he's being so fussy with his food atm, he used to eat everything before! Off to play group later, hopefully that will make him nice & tired for nap time!

ldt87 · 03/07/2014 08:27

Hi all, just read back and caught up with the thread. I'm decorating my older girls room this week so not been on. By evening I'm just exhausted, and now is not the time to be steaming wallpaper! I looked like a tomato yesterday!

26 weeks tomorrow, seems to be speeding up now, still lots to organise, but I picked up a nuby electric breast pump full kit including steriliser and bottles for 15 pound in boots last weekend. Happy with my bargain, at that price I don't worry about if breastfeeding doesn't work for us.

I'm getting lots of kicks now but frustratingly still only a few that others can feel, which must be due to my anterior placenta. Xx

furryleopard · 03/07/2014 08:39

There's a woman at work who had a baby on Monday, but the thing is she came to our office for a meeting no more than 3 weeks ago and we didn't realise she was pregnant! She was working on Sunday and had the baby on Monday. She was only 2 weeks early and the baby was 5lb something so admittedly a bit on the petit size but how could we not have seen?? She's not hugely overweight in fact she's quite slim so not like we thought she'd just put weight on, she looked normal! I look absolutely huge at 25 weeks! Apparently she did know herself so not a shock but for us we were all gobsmacked!

magichandles · 03/07/2014 09:04

I haven't got restless leg syndrome, but I do get tingly feet and ankles in the evenings when I put my feet up. I had it with both my previous pregnancies and I think I read that it's the fluid that collects starting to drain away - it was a lot worse with DC1 as I was commuting an hour each way and sitting at a desk all day throughout the summer so more collected. So far this pregnancy it has seemed much better, so I suspect that is just being more active.

It's fine when I lie down properly for some reason though, never stops me getting to sleep anyway!

ohthegoats · 03/07/2014 09:08

People carry so differently though. Last night there were a few others at 28 weeks (I'm 27+4), and I was the smallest there by quite a long way. Boyfriend said that this was because I'm fat (polite as ever), and none of them were so their bumps look respectively bigger. Also in my family all the other women have barely looked pregnant, irrespective of their fatness!! My sister-in-law is tiny tiny (UK size 2 - 4 - anorexic), had tiny babies, yet looked quite big really. For her.

It's interesting.

YellowWellies · 03/07/2014 09:26

Argh just realised that because my pal's sister had her DS yesterday I'm now the most preggers person I know! Shock

mum2kiss · 03/07/2014 09:57

Lol you're next yellow!

Slap your boyfriend goats. My bump is huge and I'm fat so his theory is incorrect ;)

So this whole measuring above the belly button thing...how does it work? I measured from top of belly button to top of bump and it was 19cm!

tak1ngchances · 03/07/2014 10:30

I think you measure from your pubic bone to top of bump.

But howwww do you find your pubic bone?

binkybunny · 03/07/2014 11:34

Mum my MW measured from quite low down, it felt like just below my bikini line to the top of my bump and I measure 26cm at 25 weeks. I'm a bit overweight so I'm thinking the extra cm might just be too many ice lollies Blush

Yellow congrats to your friends sister how exciting!

Only 14 weeks to go til EDD now Shock

fatpony · 03/07/2014 11:50

The doc measured me on Tuesday and from top of pubic bone to top of bump was 25cm at 25 weeks. Other than that I look quite small - if I don't have my badge on on the tube people don't even look twice in that kind of squinty 'is she preggars or should I chuck her a diet book' kind of way.

bumpforme commiserations about the tube. I have found people really good so far - especially builders for some reason - but haven't had to ask anyone to stand. I'm trying to give people the benefit of the doubt if they don't offer a seat as I remember (pre-pregnancy) a couple of times I'd be buried in a book/paper and to my horror would suddenly find a big pregnant lady had been standing there for ages!

THANKS FOR ALL THE SLEEPWEAR ADVICE. I'm going to refer to it when I start shopping.

YellowWellies · 03/07/2014 13:13

Well despite my pals sister being MASSIVE, measuring 3 weeks ahead, going overdue and growth scans suggesting a 10lber her DS was a modest 7lb 12oz. Carrying back to back can make you look bigger and she had a tonne of fluid so don't panic if you're measuring big.

She went into labour at midnight and he was born at 7pm. Not bad at all! Labour was tough, she was v weepy, loud and panicky (despite hypnobirthing - does anyone know of a successful hypnobirthing back to back? I want to do a class but won't waste my money if it can't cope with back to back - I know last time the visualisations only worked to 4cm and then I just turned really sarcastic about 'surges' and 'opening flowers') he didn't turn, and like a lot of back to backs she was vomming with each contraction so could only tolerate pethidine.

But thanks to a bossy MW who wouldn't let her give up despite being knackered after 2.5 hours of pushing - she pushed him out all by herself and just needed a couple of stitches. Both Dad and her Mum have bloody wounds on their wrists! She was a bit in shock after because of the intensity of the pain and because she became one of the screamers she's previously tutted at at OBEM! All is good this morn and they're home. Also despite having a previous breast reduction where they moved her nipples - she's managing to BF! All in all a good birth.

LondonJen · 03/07/2014 13:18

I really don't understand the bump measuring. Last week, at 25 weeks, mine was measured by mw at 27.5cm but she wrote down 27. She didn't say anything about what it meant so I looked in my book where it said I should expect to measure as many weeks as I was plus or minus 2cm. Which means I was on the big side, but I don't think you would think that to look at my bump! Also, how can everyone's bump possibly measure the same give or take a couple of cm?! In contrast I have not put on as much weight as it says is 'average' on the book in my graph. ??

My bump is very much carrying to the front. I guess that must effect measurement? But I don't really know! It's to the extent that my hip tatoo is on the side of my bump and can't be seen from the front when I look in the mirror!

LondonJen · 03/07/2014 13:23

Blimey Yellow well done to her on all counts!

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 03/07/2014 13:59

I don't get that either London, i already had a bit of a belly before getting pregnant so don't understand how i am measuring correctly!

Your friend sounds amazing yellow! I am watching obem now & thinking "god i hope i don't do that"! Anyone watched this weeks one? The woman in the birth pool room is a bit crazy!

tak1ngchances · 03/07/2014 14:11

Oh gawd. Suddenly today I have The Fear. Generic worrying about baby things, do we have enough, what if the baby comes early and nothing is ready blah blah. Then worrying about what if I am a terrible Mum and hate being a Mum and you can't go back because it's forever.
Tell me this is normal??? It's all terribly wearing

YellowWellies · 03/07/2014 14:14

Taking totally normal - those thoughts were racing thru my head up to the point my waters broke - and even now!!!!

mum2kiss · 03/07/2014 14:43

I just drank a pina colada by mistake!! Went to las iguanas for lunch and thought I ordered the virgin pina colada, but no! I didn't even notice whilst I was drinking it lol! Feel a little giddy now though! Slightly annoyed that it was only a pina colada...that would not have been my.first choice if I had taken the decision to drink alcohol!

binkybunny · 03/07/2014 15:17

Jelly i did love that woman's creative alternative swear words though, until it all got too much then four letter expletives were flying out of her!

Wow yellow that sounds like some birth. Can they tell if it's going to be a back to back before hand or only during labour? I think I'd be screaming for a transfer and an epidural by the sounds of it.
