Thank god it's not just me! I can barely breath just sitting on the sofa. My house is a right shit tip as a result...

mrsb87 · 01/07/2014 11:08

I'm meant to be doing the in laws hair in a bit. Not feeling that!

LondonJen · 01/07/2014 11:26

Lol Porcito you tell him. I hope you're feeling better btw, you've had quite a full on time. When are you next being seen/scanned? I seem to have 2-3 full on movement days then one like today where I hardly get anything and it prays on my mind.

Oh Jelly that's a lot to contend with! DP and I are both eldest siblings but I already had to get over the same thing when my younger bro accidentally got his girlfriend pg 4 years ago. Of course, that just means I was spoiling for more attention from dp's side!

Lovely to hear Magic!

He he Binky Grin I like your thinking!

I am in a bra dilemma today. The Bravissimo fitter said end of 2nd tri, so now, is when most people need to switch to the soft bras as higher bump can cause uncomfy wires digging in. But that's not happening yet. However, the wires on this bra are now not flush against my rib cage (just inbetween boobs, rest is fine) so suspect I do need something new. Don't know whether to get a bigger wired one whilst it's still fine, or just go soft cup? Don't want to go soft cup as FF/G already and need the support, but also don't want to waste money on wired bra if bump will be uncomfy in a few weeks time. Has anyone else switched to soft bras yet?

tak1ngchances · 01/07/2014 12:15

I'm on the soft non-wired bras as I found a wired bra made me throw up even more.
Now back to throwing up...about every 2 or 3 days so not too bad but terribly violent. Managed to get it up the wall and 3 feet behind me on Sunday night. Charming.
Also very breathless and tired. Walked 20 mins to the post office to pick up a parcel today and then realised I'd forgotten my stoopid Royal Mail red slip and they wouldn't give it to me. Very nearly cried at the post office and then staggered the 20 mins home trying not to pee my pants.

It's all sooooo glamorous

ohthegoats · 01/07/2014 12:51

I was SO HAPPY that my younger brother got his girlfriend (intentionally) pregnant. Massively thrilled. On the way home I had to actually stop my car in a lay-by and have a relieved moment, a huge weight off my shoulders - I didn't need to produce the grandchildren, someone else was going to do it.

fatpony · 01/07/2014 13:10

Ooh I love Aden + Anais (think magic mentioned it) - was just on their website last night. But have withheld from buying anything just yet due to their prices. Wonder if they have a summer sale :)

sazzlehopes · 01/07/2014 13:25

excited this happened to us. I was so chuffed smug when my boy potty trained at 2 and a bit and then said he didn't want nappies at night. But then his sense of needing a wee was so good he'd wake me up several times to pee and gone from sleeping through til 7.30 to waking at 6am possibly before...
We also have one of those clocks which helped, and to be honest over time he just got better (like we do) at not needing to go at night and sleeping through again til 7/7.30. When he was a big bigger, maybe 2 and a half we got a little night light and set that up next to his potty in the bathroom and he now just trots out and goes for a wee and gets back into bed and doesn't wake us up until the 'sunshine is up'. GOOD LUCK!!!

Kirstipops · 01/07/2014 13:32

I'm wondering if one of those sun-up clocks would work with my cat, she loves to wake me up for a dawn cuddle/tummy huddle/intent purring stare!!!!

London I'm in bra dilema at the moment. Boobs are getting sore from underwire but not wanting to pay out for a bra again if I'm going to get any bigger! Also I only found non padded bras without underwire. I can live without the wire but not the padding. I cant be seen in public with nipples like these Blush

ExcitedCJ · 01/07/2014 13:59

Thanks Sazzle makes it a bit easier to know other people have the same experiences. Didn't wake her last night as she was faffing about so much & got up for a pee herself at 9pm. She woke at 6:00am! Plan to get her up for pee tonight.
Magic I am so delighted for you, must be a huge relief. I am sure you are exhausted from the nervous energy. I would buy the baby a little treat & treat yourself to some yummy reflexology or a massage.
I'm thinking of starting acupuncture when I get to 28 wks. Did it last time to help with my preeclampsia & it was great. Raspberry leaf tea, acupuncture, Hypnobirthing & natal hypnotherapy all on the cards in the next 4/5 weeks.
Off to a consultant appt. regarding my lazy thyroid now, better get out of car & into hospital. :)

ohthegoats · 01/07/2014 14:38

Yep CJ - all that stuff is starting for me as soon as we break up from school. Natal hypnotherapy, some home yoga stuff, swimming every morning even if it's slowly, some inversion stuff as small is still breech, raspberry leaf tea, reflexology every two weeks. Going to be a good pregnant woman.

Car belonging to extremely pregnant woman who lives opposite to us has been missing since early Monday morning. On Sunday they were putting the car seat in the car, well - he was, she was standing there 'looking miffed' (that's what the boyf said). I said that perhaps she was in labour, hence the miffed thing, and he said 'no, they went off for a walk'.. YES, early labour then. When I saw the car still missing this morning, I got that panicky feeling for them!

LondonJen · 01/07/2014 14:44

I like that perspective Goats. Perhaps I can apply it to if we both go for bigger families, wait till they announce a 2nd then the pressure will be off us!

Taking and MrsB you have my sympathies.

Lol Binky!

I have just filled out most of my Maternity Allowance application form. What a great milestone, makes it feel very real. Just need to decide for sure when actually want to start my leave/pay & get MATB1 at next mw appt. Exciting!

ExcitedCJ · 01/07/2014 14:49

Goats don't panic, I was in 3 days. I'm still here fighting fit as is DD. Bad stuff is thankfully not as common as good.

mum2kiss · 01/07/2014 16:03

What week of pregnancy is it safe to start drinking raspberry leaf tea? I know it's not recommended in early pregnancy and I have 32 weeks in my head as the date to.start but I don't know if that is correct?!

YellowWellies · 01/07/2014 16:21

Binky M&S do padded wireless T-shirt bras. I've lived in them this pregnancy. Hot pink, black, nude, white. 2 for £16 too.

fedupofrainydays · 01/07/2014 17:55

Totally jealous of those who have managed potty training so easily. It's my nemesis. I know he will get there in the end but it's painful. Jealous of those that get it in a week!

Am I missing something but thought raspberry leaf tea was drunk to bring on labour?? So why would you drink it early? It was one of things various NCT members started downing after about 38 weeks. That and pineapple, sex and hot curries!

Re bras - If you are planning to bf I would go with buying ones that are nursing bras too. As boobs will first go huge but then as feeding progresses go down to what you are now and then further down. I'm already in non underwired as that's what I've got in my size and not willing to fork out £30 for something that will only fit me for a month or so!

So over work. 23 days left and counting. Just can't be arsed.

Kirstipops · 01/07/2014 18:02

Nah fedup that's a bit of am urban myth I think, it just tones your uterine muscles so makes contractions more effective, yeah Mrsb I think its 32 weeks onwards too?

OP posts:
Kirstipops · 01/07/2014 18:04

Sorry, meant mum2kiss not mrsb!

OP posts:
YellowWellies · 01/07/2014 18:23

Raspberry leaf tea tones the uterus but it can bring on contractions especially if you've got an irritable uterus. If you've any risk of prem delivery don't take until the baby is fully cooked at 36 weeks. Historically it was taken to bring on labour.

YellowWellies · 01/07/2014 18:35

Apparently according to randomised trials taking raspberry leaf tea in low risk mums from 32 weeks reduced the length of labour by 9 minutes compared to the control group Hmm

mum2kiss · 01/07/2014 18:48

9 mins is 9 mins in my opinion lol! Doesn't sound like much though...the second stage of labour was only a few minutes for me though. I will never know if that was down to rlt or not!

Kirstipops · 01/07/2014 18:50

Lol, whole 9 minutes Confused? How dya know if you have an irritable uterus? Do midwives know that in advance? I'd maybe like to start drinking the tea too at some point so would be interested to know! I think my midwife said the last 4 weeks before due date as well now I think of it.

ExcitedCJ · 01/07/2014 19:06

Any good Raspberry leaf tea recommendations? I would like some super strong stuff. Trying to avoid another emergency section this time! With DD drank RLT, had reflexology, took black/blue cohosh ( can't remember which), walked up mountains, ate curry & had lots of sex & there was no budging her. I really wanted a natural birth & was aware my preeclampsia meant things would be touch & go. The most important thing is we are both safe & well & I am very thankful to the fantastic NHS staff that looked after & monitored us to ensure that was the case but I am hopeful to feel at least one contraction this time! But perhaps stick to 36 weeks. :)

mum2kiss · 01/07/2014 19:10

You WANT to feel a contraction excited?! Mad woman!

I'll be downing rlt like a crackhead and following natal hypnotherapy cd on repeat this time! My mw has promised me little to no chance of any pain relief so I want this birth to go.as quickly as possible! Even if on 9 mins is shaved off lol!

YellowWellies · 01/07/2014 19:29

Kirsti if you have contractions early, your bump is regularly hard and painful or hours and hours of BH then MW would likely diagnose an irritable uterus. RLT used to be used to bring on miscarriage in the first trimester - so be careful with it its not just a woo fluffy herb. I'm going to use it post 36 weeks. Last time it (likely coincidentally) took just one cup and I was off!
