Hi All!

Thanks Kirstipops, i have sent you a PM.

I am expecting baby number 2 (already have an 18mo DS) on October 13th. I had an unexpected home-birth with DS so have decided to go for a planned one this time Grin

bumpbangbump · 25/06/2014 20:18

I take it your ds was quick to arrive then jelly?!

Try not to worry sparkle, maybe a back up person who could be with you until he arrives?

Pregnantagain7 · 25/06/2014 20:25

Thanks for all the good wishes guys, things went from bad to worse this aft when her temp started to rise. She has febrile convulsions (fits when her temp goes up) so I was starting to worry so took her back in. They were amazing with her but unfortunately she has tonsillitis as well!!
She was a bit brighter when we got home had antibiotics and ate something she is flat out in bed. Chicken kebabs ordered, swollen feet up and waiting for obem :)

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 25/06/2014 20:53

Yes bumpbangbump - 4 hours from start to finish! Hospital kept telling me I wasn't in established labour until they had to send a paramedic when I said I wanted to push!

I feel really mean not joining in on other people's convos but I havent read the thread properly yet so am not fully abreast! Hope your DD is OK Pregnantagain7 Enjoy your kebab, I will be watching OBEM in a minute too Smile

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 25/06/2014 20:54

sparkle, is your DP's work flexible? Perhaps they could make sure he isn't on shift alone on the run up to/after your due date? I know this is a long shot for most workplaces but worth asking!

If its some reassurance on my last thread of 50+ babies born - no one's birthing partner missed the big event.

fedupofrainydays · 25/06/2014 22:25

Hope your daughter is ok pregnant - sounds like she's been through the mill a bit (and you too)
Enjoy the kebab - with lots of garlic sauce I hope! Grin

porcito · 25/06/2014 22:58

pregnant hope your daughter feels better! Enjoy your feet up!
goats I cancelled some kind of seminar with a 'breast' lady in the next town tonight as I was too excited to eat some chicken kievs that are in our fridge and wouldn't have time otherwise. Terrible. In my defence, chicken kievs are impossible to find here.

Yesterday I had to go get the baby registered for daycare. Eek! It looks really good but I know I'll be a mess when I have to leave the poor thing there after 2 months. I also had my follow up appointment after Sunday's disaster - the doctor told me to stop eating so much as I was getting too fat and then told me that if I had another baby within two years it would be very dangerous, and that they will try to fit me with the coil before I leave the hospital. She was so patronising that she nearly had the coil fitted somewhere unpleasant. As good as their emergency care is, the normal government pregnancy service here is so sad.

binkybunny · 26/06/2014 06:33

We went to the Mothercare event last night really useful and a huge bag of goodies!

There was a carseat expert there who gave a good talk. Has anyone else heard about the new carseat law coming in 2016 where car seats will have to be rear facing to 4 years old? Thete seems to be very few seats that rear face that long and the ones that do are over 300 Shock

We're trying to decide whether still to get the Britax which turns around sooner that that and see what happens with the law being passed or just pay out now as apparently its 5x safer for toddlers to travel rear facing.

Whats anyones thoughts?

puppy she also said the carseat 2 hour thing is because of the curvature of the spine and leaving a baby sat in one isnt good for their development.

fedupofrainydays · 26/06/2014 07:03

Ugh. Feel horrible this morn. So achy. My 20 min brisk walk to station at 6.30 is getting really hard, keep getting stitch in lower right side.
Also I seem to have got a blocker ear. Then tried to clean it and made it worse. I'm pretty sure it's just wax or maybe water (sorry tmi) but could be something else. Any suggestions for how to resolve this without going to gp? Makes me feel weird!

Re car seats - we got forward facing (ds now 2.5) as there was only one rear facing and was mega expensive and ds loves looking forward. Be interesting if they do make it law.

fedupofrainydays · 26/06/2014 07:03

But if I was buying again and law was imminent I would go rear facing.

binkybunny · 26/06/2014 07:10

It will be interesting if its made law as at the moment only isofix ones can rear face that long, not all cars take isofix and I think I'll struggle in my little car as the carseats are huge so if we got on its be for DH car only. Such a quandry after spending a month choosing the Britax combination!!!

mrsb87 · 26/06/2014 07:25

So so tired. Really not feelin the love for work today , I just want to go back to bed Sad so much sale planning to get done too. No no no no no!

mrsb87 · 26/06/2014 07:27

Oh yea, heads up, fat face sale starts next Tuesday. A few maxi dresses going in Smile

YellowWellies · 26/06/2014 07:52

We've got an extended rear facing seat just because they're 500% safer in a collision. He's never faced forward so he doesn't know what he's missing. Its a Britax first class and he loves it. Sadly he can't rear face to four in it as our car's not isofix compatible.

I'm loving my Fat Face clothes - I can still wear them all, they fit better around a bump than most maternity clothes! Especially tunics and maxi dresses, but also a pair of shorts from awhile ago with an elasticated waist.

And yes awful dreams. AWFUL. Huge fights - boyfriend shouting that he doesn't want a baby, doesn't want me either. Woke up crying from that one - we never argue, I'd not know how to deal with it if he shouted at me. Went back to sleep and another one about hiking up Moroccan mountains (in a distressed state) searching for my bump because it had gone missing. Am all out of sorts today.

And also yes to the stitch pain - is half way up on my bump on the right hand side, and only appears if I need to walk at a speed faster than 'really, really slow'. I'm getting on my bike for even short distances.

Kirstipops · 26/06/2014 08:05

Yeah I had some rotten dreams leading up to my 12 and 20 week scans, now they are just plain ridiculous, last night's involved me walking out of a hair appointment because I couldnt get the usual guy to cut my hair, mental!
I imagine most car seat manufacturers must be in some development just now so they can cash in on the new law coming up, and at more reasonable prices I imagine as there will be more competition.
Ugh..since being laid up with back pain a couple of weeks ago I've done my Pilates DVD every day for half an hour....except yesterday..and this morning I woke up before 5 with sore back again and cramp in both legs. That'll teach me :(

Fedup I hope you feel better soon, and your poor wee girl too pregnant!

fedupofrainydays · 26/06/2014 08:46

Awful dreams here too. We split up in my dream last night - very real texting my best friends to tell them and that I needed them and then thinking through how I would afford to rent a place for me and ds / worried DH was going to steal all out money (he wouldn't but he can be really horrible in my dreams!) it was an AWFUL dream.

bugs I'm pretty sure mine is wax. I actually can't hear out of it - it's awful! I don't even have a cold. Pharmacist gave me olive oil dropper and if that doesn't work I'm going to doctor to ask for syringing as this is really annoying at work - can't hear what anyone is saying to me!

binkybunny · 26/06/2014 09:03

yellow its the Britax first plus we had chosen but we were told last night it wont rear face up to 4 at all. The only seat they had that did rear face til 4 years was 360 Shock

YellowWellies · 26/06/2014 09:11

Binky that's the one we've got. He can rear face to 13kg I believe. Given my boy is a wee 9th centile he should be able to rear face until gone two. He's 11kg now at 20 months.

hefner · 26/06/2014 09:36

We've got an extended rear facing seat too, its this one, it can rear face up to 4 years. Ours is just belt fitted but they do an isofix version too. Can't remember how much it cost. DD is almost 3 and is still quite happy rear facing, but we chose one that you can turn round to face forward just in case she starts to hate rear facing!

hefner · 26/06/2014 09:37

Actually, ours is this one. The one I linked before is only rear facing but ours is the combi which can face either way.

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 26/06/2014 09:43

Buggerlugs, i had a dream about going into labour at 24 weeks last night! DH wasn't worried at all cos he'd read in the book they are viable from then & i was shouting at him saying "but the baby will be really. sick if it comes now!". I am 24 weeks this week so it definitely plays on the mind!

Portico i haven't read why you went to hospital but am so sorry they treated you like that! Can't believe they are basically forcing you to get a coil fitted! I am considered obese this pregnancy & get weighed at every appointment, it adds so much more stress! I have read of ladies with a BMI of 40+ who have birthed no problem though so try not to let them get
to you!

I am feeling a bit lackluster today too, lets blame the weather! I am sat here MNing while DS watches Wooly & Tig but i should really be getting in the shower!
